Yes, All hosta varieties are edible!

HOSTAS
tastes a little bit like asparagus and lettuce. Harvest time is early spring, when the plant sends up tightly-rolled shoots. Cut off a few at the root from each plant, much as you would asparagus. Only harvest from plants not treated with pesticide.

WINTER PURSLANE / MINER’S LETTUCE
is an annual plant that self-seeds which is why we prefer to grow these in containers. The leaves are a bit succulent and are best harvested when young, as they can become bitter with age or during hot summers.

STINGING NETTLE
has a long history of use for various purposes. It has been used as a food source, herbal remedy, dye, and fiber. Be careful handling this plant, its sharp hairs can cause a stinging sensation when touched.

DANDELION
leaves, flowers, and roots of dandelions are all edible and can be used in various dishes. The leaves have a slightly bitter taste and are often used in salads or cooked as greens. The flowers can be used to make dandelion wine, syrup, or jelly. The roasted roots can be used as a caffeine-free coffee substitute.

  1. У нас очень много одуванчиков в этом году😢Замучилась рвать и полоть его.
    Крапива так вообще полями растёт)

  2. What you call winter purslane is also known as miners lettuce and it is delicious. We have so many hostas and I heard that they were edible so I am excited to see how you use them. I live in the southern United States so unfortunately, all of our hostas are already fully out. I tried growing stinging nettle this year, but the seeds did not germinate. I will try again, because nettles are so good. The dish you fixed looks so delicious and with such nourishing ingredients. Thanks for your wonderful videos.

  3. I didn't know you ate these !?. as i class them as weeds ,dandelions especially grow everywhere here but i don't eat them to bitter for my taste plus to me they are just another weed that the chooks love. !!… But interesting to know this stuff. Thanks for sharing,🙋🙂

  4. 2:35 Yeah, I know dandelions were edible, but unfortunately they're usually in public places or where people's animals can pee on them so that is smart to grow them. I know they come back because it's a weed so how do you grow them? 🤔 🌼
