Everyone tells you, “You shouldn’t water plants overhead!” But what’s the real reason behind this advice? It’s not because you’ll fry your plants – ever heard of rain?!
Overhead watering can lead to leaf diseases for some crops, but more than anything it’s a waste of water. Most of the water will evaporate off of the leaves and stems instead of making it to the soil.
A better solution is watering at the base, which we achieve using Hoselink’s Long-reach Shower Spray Wand.
We’ve been using Hoselink products at Epic Gardening for 4+ years now and they’re incredible. Shop easy watering at www.hoselink.com.

Your actually so helpful thanks for all the tips ❤❤❤
For those that have well water as well, rust can be an issue on many plants and cause diseases. That's the main reason I focus on watering from below since I have well water myself.
Do you have a huge palm tree in your yard in Portland, Oregon?
When you water your plants from above you wash away pathogens keeping them healthier.
A $250 hose? Lol
My biggest point for watering low instead of overhead, is thst i dont scare away the bees 🐝
The water drops do refract the light and burn the leaves. Have you ever heard of clouds?
Rust, humidity spots, blight, etc all things caused by over head watering
I have some curry plants towards north Georgia. These plants are native to India, but I water overheard to increase the humidity otherwise they can sometimes get a little droopy.
Do you think this is an exception to your rules?
Finally someone else questions not watering overhead. Now, guys, here is something else for you to debunk. Your lawn only needs 1/2" of water. Have fun!
What if it’s super hot and I just want to cool my spoiled plants down)
This is what iv done after getting a watering machine thing😂 to late now though, but iv noticed people say you should plant the seeds in little boxes and then move those to the soil but iv found i prefer just planting the seeds in the soil since i mean plants are living things and i think it gets damaged by being moved around alot, but i think the watering machine has made me less carefull with watering
Nice, great tip for those living in dry places! We don't ever irrigate here in Ireland 😀
Sun usually doesn't burn down the leaves with 1000w/m2 while its raining… Smartass
I mean, it’s not crazy to say water on the petals could cause burning. It’s typically not pouring down rain on a very hot day.
Sun can burn your leaves if too much water on them. It's unusual and scary at the same time
Lol never heard of rain, the best part yet😂
In nature, rain help to remove dust from leave and also give small injuries thus in courage growth hormones
But shouldn't we water on the leaves on sunny days… Since i live in tropical area, so during summer we like really hot days… Upto 45 degree Celsius.. so should water the leave to cool them as well
