Hey ya’ll, we are Jess & Miah from Roots & Refuge Farm
Welcome to a place that feels like home. A small farm with a big family. We hope you’ll pull up a chair, grab some coffee and visit awhile.
There was a time that all I wanted in the world was a little farm where I could raise my family and grow our food. Now, that is exactly what exists outside my door. In watching it unfold, a new dream was formed in my heart โ to share this beautiful life with others and teach them the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Welcome to our journey, friend. I am so glad you’re here.

Very interesting. Thank you for explaining.
Great video, Miah. I always enjoy your videos. I don't comment much, but I all of the video both of guys put out. Keep up the great content.
She says Iโve been ready, youโve been talking. She wanted more camera time.
Super random thought. But at the fair they had a 5 gall bucket with cow bottle teats for the kids to "milk "…. wondering if a set up like that with hot water and some cleaner in it, hook the milker to it and run the water through the system to clean ๐ค
So good to see you and watch the process of milking. Very interesting and you explained things very well.
Freya be like "Hey hooooo-man! Quit yakking and let me in!"
Great indepth video. Appreciate your insights on milking, milking machines, and your setup! Thanks.
So fascinated by the process. You explain and demonstrate so well, Miah! Thanks for sharing!๐ฎ๐
Youโre a great teacher!!! Thanks for taking us along with you today โค๐
Blessings to everyone โค
I've lived in a city in Southern Ontario all my life; less than a half hour drive to the country and the nearest farm. Growing up there has always been a connection to farms. A city guy with a farming/homesteading sole.
A great step by step look at a daily farm chore! I also appreciate the discussion of the thought processes around the routine and why you do things this way. Thanks Miah! ๐
Love this! Iโm waiting for my Jersey to get bred so I can begin my milking journey. Iโd love to buy plans to make a station like yours if you ever decide to offer them for sale.
Look at the skill Miah has pouring that milk into the jars. Far better than me my counters get a taste every time. LOL

You're the best. Thank you for sharing. Blessings to you and your family!

Excellent information Miah. Thank you!
Good job Miah! I am not interested in cows or milkiing but I still enjoyed your educational video. Thank you!
Perfectly explained! Thank you!
Enjoyed this video Miah! And that cow could not wait to get in there! Kind of like being on the farm which is always nice.
I have never milked a cow, but I really enjoyed watching your process.

Thanks for this Miah! I always enjoy your videos. I don't think I'm up for the 'hassle' of having a home dairy but at least I know where to start if we ever chose that path.
