hi y’all and welcome back to the Garden today’s video is going to be exclusively about some perennials for 2025 that I’m testing uh for priven winners in Walter’s Gardens so we’re going to jump right into it I have less than 10 here that they sent me I think there’s about eight all the way from hibiscus to some brand new species introductions that they’re going to be testing out and triing that I’m really excited about so we’ll start right here next to me where I planted a new hibiscus that’s coming out called cookies and cream is nice dark foliage it’s a little smaller than some of the other hibiscus that get pretty big 3 to four foot tall and wide and it has these beautiful Pure White blooms so here it is I did get all of these in quart size so they’re going to be pretty small this year we’ll see how uh big of blooms this puts on it should be really interesting if it puts on really huge blooms on such a tiny plant but here’s the name of it right here it’s called summerific cookies and cream and you can see how beautifully white that bloom is and how dark the foliage is and I put it here next to a Morning Light grass that I have and a um fairy Trail green hydrangea so it should be really pretty as it fills out the space now the next one that I want to show you is probably one of my favorite that came in it is a new Huka called prom dress and it I took it out of its uh box when it arrived and I was blown away at the veining on this hooka it’s super interesting it’s purple but also looks very silvery so let’s take a look so I put it up here up front so to orient you the fountain’s there we have this beautiful new hydrangea here called wee bit innocent and here is prom dress but look at these leaves they’re really huge and they have this like silver overlay to them you can see the veining and it’s also seems to be really vigorous so like I said I got this as a quart size it was pretty big when it arrived but it’s put on all these new growth and all these new leaves really quickly so I think this is going to be really stunning I’m hoping to be able to add more of these to the Garden in the future maybe I can pop some or exchange some out in the hookah River in your’s future because it’s very different from a lot of the other ones that they have in their catalog all of the other perennials that I received in this shipment got added to this bed next to the pool area so the pools over here the hydrangea Hedges here is doing really well and I put drip in this bed the other day and the perennials are coming along pretty well some of them are starting to bloom some of them are continuing to bloom they had blooms on them when I got them and some of them are waiting to bloom and so there are several new varieties here uh new species but also all of these are new varieties the First new variety is a Yaro called Firefly red pop and you can see how vividly red the blooms are on this Yaro and it’s just now starting to come out so this is a newer Bloom here actually some of the buds may be a little faded but I do have these on drip irrigation since they’re so new Yara of course is drought tolerant so in the future it may not need drip irrigation at all but it’ll do pretty well this summer let’s show you the tag better there I think this is a really beautiful color if you’re into red in the garden this is a new species variety for proven winners of Adela Sperma it’s called Kaleidoscope razzled Daz and you can see the colors on there now this is like a a cedam type plant that will look really beautiful and have really nice color on it here in the tropical area of this bed the drip irrigation in this bed just came on so these plants will get their nice drink of water midday here but you can see this is one of my favorite new perennials that I received as well uh it’s called Touch of blush and you can see how bright and Vivid that foliage can get there right now it’s exhibiting a little more green but as it develops more you can see a lot of these newer leaves that it’s put on are much more white and that’s just really striking comparison to the blooms there so this is going to be a great one full sun to part sun this is going to be a full sun location for this one and it gets 18 to in tall and 16 or so Ines wide this is a new penamon that they’ve released and it was really beautiful when it arrived and it’s already bloomed out I think it was a little head because it had been in the greenhouse but we may get some more blooms this year on it I’m not sure if I cut it back we might this is called Beed Rose rhinestones really gorgeous 14 to 16inch high perennial full sun plant and it’s very vividly pink compared to others in their collection which is really nice and it’s Hardy in zones 4 to eight so all of these plants are Hardy here and will return for me and most perennials are will work throughout the United States not all of them but all the ones I’m going to show you have a really broad range of hardiness this is a new coreopsis that they’re releasing called Golden Needles and you can see the blooms on it here there’s a little touch of red to burgundy in the center of the uh Bloom here but this is the designer thread Series so you may notice that the leaves are very very thin and they’re really really beautiful and striking from a distance from a foliage perspective this gets 18 to 20 in tall and it is Hardy in zone 5 through n this is a new species variety to the program that I’m really excited about and it’s not quite blooming today but you’ll have to follow along to see some blooms in the future because it’s getting really close it’s a Stoka called totally stoked rip tide and you can see those gorgeous blue to purple blooms there gets a little bigger 24 to 26 in tall and wide and his hardan zones 5 through nine but the flowers are really large 2 and 1 half to 3 inch in this bluish color and they love heat and humidity which is great for Ohio and even down in the South and the last one I have to show you is a trais scansa now Prem winners has a couple trais skena in their series that are great this one is particularly interesting because has really big blooms so these blooms are faded right now I will show you oh look at that interesting spider it’s like white I’ll show you in future videos what these look like but you can see how interesting they are they mentioned that the blooms look like they’ve been painted on airbrushed on because the transition from the purple in the center to the white kind of light purple edges is really stunning so this gets roughly 18 in high spreads up to 24 in wide and it’s hearty in zones 3 to 9 so that covers most of the United States and the flowers are particularly large for this variety for a spider wart which is super interesting so Proven Winners has released a ton of new varieties this year this is just eight of them so keep a look on their website for other interestings that’ll be coming up you may not find them in your garden center this year sometimes you can luckily find them um at a garden center if they were able to get their hands on them early but I’m really excited to see them expanding into some new species so we’ll have some new species varieties that they’ll probably continue to cultivate cultivars of there are improvements of existing great plants out there for all of us to enjoy thank you all for following Along on today’s short video and remember be a light take care bye

Very exciting, Matthew.
Thanks Matthew. 💐💚🙃
Blessings 🙏🏻💞
Thank you for sharing. Definitely will keep an eye out for quite a few of those. 💕💕🎶🎶
love that there was a spider on the spiderwort! It looked like a white crab spider, which are really fun to watch. They perch on a flower with their front legs up in the air, ready to pounce on unsuspecting pollinators (which are sometimes butterflies which is sad, lol) But still a really cool spider.
Thank you for sharing the information on the new plants. Your choice in plants is outstanding. I love when your videos pop up. 🥰❣️
