Grandpa decided it was time to redesign our backyard garden. After many years of having raised garden beds, he wanted to try out a 5 gallon bucket garden. It is supposed to be easier to maintain, have less weeds, and keep animals out of the plants. We’ll see how it goes.

Looks great! Thank you for sharing! Take care!!
That looks terrific Grandpa! Can't wait to see it all lush and green. Great idea!โคโค
I kove this! So is there a spray to keep bugs away?
Love the idea๐ก
Wow. That looks nice! Good height… ideal for those of us who don't have those back muscles like we used to. Kudos to you๐.
Hi Grandma and Grandpa! Sorry Iโve been away.
This is a lot of work Grandpa, but what a great new garden!
So far, we have gotten some radishes, cucumbers, and yellow squash out of our vegetable garden. We also have growing Early Girl tomatoes, Parks Whoppers tomatoes, and some cherry tomatoes (I forgot the variety), pumpkins (both orange and black ones- wonโt be big until the fall), peas, green beans, and of course, zucchini! Last season I was too ill to bake zucchini bread, but Iโm a lot better, and we have a lot of IOUโs out there for zucchini bread! I know that Grandma makes that, and other great muffins, quickbreads, etc.
I think your ideas for this garden are great, Grandpa! I bet you will have virtually no trouble with wild โcrittersโ and with many bugs who wonโt like the buckets!
The brick work you have laid down is beautiful!!!! Compared to our prices in Northern California at the different home improvement stores, you got a great price!
Looking forward to seeing how thing go!
It looks great! I love the height.๐
Looks great, hope to see some garden updates as the summer goes on. Thanks for sharing
Wow it looks really sharp!! Great looking garden!!!
Looks good ! Well done.
Great job Grandpa!
It looks terrific. You are so handy. Your wife and daughter are very lucky.
It works very well for people in FL., no more bugs that eat up the plants and much less watering because your watering is controlled. Good luck on your plants,
Thanks so much for sharing this with us, Grandpa! these 'raised" gardens seem to be all the rage these days, no bending down to weed!! Thanks too, for sharing that delightful Long Island accent with us, the word "tomato" becomes 'TOMATA."!!

Great job, well done. grandpa. No bending down is the key ๐
Excellent! Great job Grandpa! Can't wait to see your garden and the delicious recipes Grandma will make with the rewards ๐
What a great idea! Not a lot of work ahead. Youโre right not to have to do a lot of bending to weed! Easy to water too!
Great idea Grandpa! And it looks beautiful, very professional. Hope you keep us updated on how it goes. โค
I love that!! Functional and aesthetically pleasing!! Nice and neat!! Great job!! ๐โโ๏ธโฅ๏ธ๐ฏ
Looks great Grandpa. Did you make drain holes in the bottom of the buckets? Wish you would have showed more of the soil and fertilizer if used, and where did you get your plants, or did you start from seed? God bless youz both!โค
Excellent! I've had great success growing a container garden in 5 gallon buckets, but you've taken container gardening to a whole new level. It looks fantastic!
Wat to grandpa, nice job. Iโm gearing down this year with one raised bed to ease the bending over also. I miss the big garden but not the weeding and bending, thatโs what senior citizens do. Be well, be safe and happy gardening.
Beautiful!
Nice job on the brick work and the bucket stands, looks like you are going to have a good supply of fresh veggies, I'm jelous haha
You did good Grandpa! Hope you're right and the critters don't munch on your veggies ๐ Hello to Grandma ๐
Thanks Grandpa!

Wow, this is superb!! Good job ๐
That's not only practical, but very pretty, with the nice area for pots at the end. Looking forward to watching it grow. Would you tuck in some herbs at the bottom of the taller plants, or do you have a herb garden elsewhere?
Wow Grandpa! Far out that's awesome!! No wonder Grandma DIGS YA!! Love the pavers! Nice work! Keep us posted! Cool!
I'm going to look into Electroculture and PowerSurge for growing a garden.
Well done Grandpa! I'm glad you got the burpless cucumbers! Lol Don't want the neighbors listening into dinner time antics! Lol lol ๐๐

Fantastic! ๐
So tidy but still a great garden.. & excellent on your back ๐ถ๏ธ๐ซ ๐ ๐ฅ
Oh I felt that when you said you had to take up some bricks and do it again. That's some hard work but it looks nice! I would love to see more videos on how the buckets work. Also, cooking videos on what you make from the produce? Thanks, Grandpa! โค
This is such an amazing idea
Maybe Grandpa could share a few things about where he grew up and his family, or what he did for a living. It would be great to get to know his history a bit. Where did he learn to garden so well? Thanks GP ๐

A great job you did there grandpa. I very good idea for a raised garden. And very well executed!
Looks great, Grandpa! What are you planning to put in the square bed on the right?
It looks nice and much easier to manage. I look forward to seeing progress reports.
Do you plan to stake your tomatoes? If so, how?
This is perfect for a small garden. I am so glad you did this. Thank you!
Good looking setup but I wondering if you had any drain holes in the bottom of the buckets to keep your plants from drowning if it rains too much like it has the last year?
Looks beautiful! I can't wait to see all you grow there!
Thank you Grandpa! I love the garden! I'm sure that the garden will grow a lot of wonderful vegetables.
This is Beautiful great idea i have a garden in my windows my flowers are blooming
Good job. ๐ Very nice.
What a great idea and it looks beautiful! I hope you do a follow up video later in the season.
