I inherited a nice wooden greenhouse with our new home. It’s pretty solid – as a test, I’ve power washed bits of it and the green/black comes off pretty well.
I’ve been sanding/staining other garden furniture with the Ronseal furniture stain in the attached picture and it would be nice to have the greenhouse match – however, it’s more important that I give it the best possible protection as I don’t want to do this again too soon, (I plan on giving it a wash and extra coat every 2 years after this strip-down).
Would you use this stain or go for a more classic wood preserver…or something else?
I am planning on removing the glass from the roof to really get in to the wood around there but will probably just power wash and treat the vertical bits. If you have thoughts on this or other advice, please feel free.
TIA!

I will never ever use another exterior finish after I found this stuff: [https://www.sansin.com/product/dec/](https://www.sansin.com/product/dec/)
Ever.
Amazing product. I have been using their interior finishes too. Great inside, as well.
The greenhouse looks great. What a nice place to get your hands dirty.
I built my greenhouse with pressure treated, so no need to stain it (yet).
But I recently refinished a redwood deck and log railings with Cabot Gold, and love how that project turned out. Cabot Gold is a two coat oil based stain and it seems to be holding up extremely well.

I found it stocked locally at Ace and Lowes.
