hi everyone I’m Eric and I’m Christopher and we’re grow for me gardening today we’re going to take you on an early June check-in and give you an update on the Roses hi everyone and Welcome to our garden here in Upstate New York Zone 5B 6A before we get started on the garden check-in I think we should start up here on the Terrace on the container check in what do you think Christopher I think that’s a great idea look right behind you I know we’re going to start with the full sun containers behind me front and center here is our Patio Peach which is doing a very nice job The Bonfire Patio Peach but look at how nice the annuals are filling in I you know we’ve never grown this Augusta lavender helot Trope before and I’m really impressed with the scent it’s a it’s like a beautiful Citrus fragrance yeah it’s really really sweet and it’s very strong and I’m really enjoying this color contrast with the yellow the little yellows are pulling in each other and the dark purple against the light purple is really nice the osteos sperms are starting to really grow in that’s these Moonglow African daisies and I didn’t know if I would love the saffron Finch as much as I actually really am loving it so this whole Trio is really doing it for me Christopher if you zoom behind here we can show the newest edition this is oh you’re going that way okay I’m going oh sorry we’ll switch this is a new mangave from proven winners it’s uh called Thunderbird and it’s a cross between IND theave and something else that Christopher knows the name is it a manfredo i man I don’t it’s an annual for us though unless we want to bring it inside or do something which we might cuz I think that one’s really cool we might and they also sent us these which are called Night Owl which is the smaller version of aave and they’ll they’ll get bigger they’ll get bigger and look really really cool yeah I’m excited about that moving over here to our other full sun this has our m the blue in the center again more of the yellow and purple I’m loving the way the alysum flowers are coming in another fragrant plant our Meer lemon is doing very well there’s 13 lemons on it did you know that did you count them we counted them yesterday when we had friends over I’m impressed yes part sun containers doing very well this is uh a new uh colus that had a little trouble getting adjusted to the Sun but it’s done it it’s made its adjustment and I’m again happy with the purple and yellow combination and what’s really interesting is this mini Vista indigo is like the least Sun of the part sun containers and it’s still doing very well it’s very happy back there I mean I would say that’s less than part saw in that very spot right there behind me in our covered living space little update on our house plants they’re doing very well these are proven winers Leaf Joy house plants looking pretty strong and the ferns the what is this living lace living lace Deana Fern in the little baskets yeah and they come in these which I think is really cool the color of these honestly up against the vinyl siding and like how often can you be thankful for the color of your vinal sighting but it looks really really nice as a combo but turn here before you back all the way up and give a little update on our hanging basket so these are the hanging hany hanging baskets I bought them in Rust and spray painted them black uh the Bonas are coming in very nice and the trenia is it’s in there it’s growing they’re very small to start with but they’re doing this one here look at that there’s some blue in there but this same hanging basket combination called Double Dutch is repeated over here in this part shade container and that 20 is getting closer to the edge it started a little bigger though than the other ones these are double impatients the wisteria color and Boston fern so that’s kind of it for the Terrace update what do you think Christopher should we give more updates down this way I think we should go down that way the original gardening moment for us was planting these 15 Limelight hydrangeas here in this hedge last year we had a pretty severe might issue that set them back pretty far but this year they look amazing and they lead you down here into the new Dry Creek bed area that we have planted up with a rose border these reminiscent crl roses are brand new planted just a few months ago 1 month 6 weeks something not that long ago but the cremas were were really rare into get into the ground they really were and they have such a giant fragrant creamy flower it’s absolutely beautiful I’m so happy with their performance and we actually are going to have to make this bed a little bit deeper a little deeper than anticipated because they got so big so quickly and I do have to point out it’s like Blossom Blossom Blossom Blossom deer damage Blossom so that’s why they’re very prolific Bloomers there’s some stuff to come in this area the um cisu pink sundrops which are a plant that did not come back the last two years those little beautiful pink iridescent flowers they look wonderful this year and yes they spread and we’re letting them do whatever they want underneath the stormcloud amsonia there was a bit of a gap and I had just a handful of saffron Finch left over well what a great little pop of yellow down here it really looks great especially from far away that’s why I’m backing up sorry kind of lifts the area up you can see the African maragold are about to pop and the uh tall blue planet aerum there’s a lot of plants got to get them out of my mouth that’s doing great well you’re the strong one at this so if you don’t know the name I’m hopeless so when we have these squares of the yellow marold with the bluey purple in the middle these are going to look really really really nice I just love the fact that I wouldn’t say we have any of these traditional Garden star plants in the garden but look at the combination of textures the Adagio Maiden grass the red Obelisk Beach this is a Sonic pink or sonic Bloom pink weila it’s coming out of Bloom right now in fact I just cut some back only because there’s a fifth lime little lime hydrangea that we found at a garden C so our little hedge of five is back to being complete one of the plants I’ve been so excited about double play Big Bang spa and when I say sort of this not a garden star I don’t think of a spa necessarily as something people are planting because they’re in love with Spa but what a gorgeous color the combination of the hot pink The Faded light pink blooms against that really nice cool green and then when it’s paired with Morning Light miscanthus this is a really great combination that is really nice really really happy with the grasses came up really quick this year they did and as we come along here you can see it’s just combination of texture this Rose of Sharon long from blooming but it’s still giving us that nice shiny green foliage here on the back corner to my right you can see the invincibelle sublime hedge is coming in very nicely again we do battle Deer uh so it suffered a little bit of deer damage here but I put out a wireless deer friends hoping that would deter them if they came back but you never know uh I’m surprised how much growth the Weeping Ruby Falls red butt is putting on I promised him it would get a little bit taller and he kept saying no no it’s just going to weep but behind me right here is one of my favorite spots in the garden uh the tottering by gently Rose is glowing covered in blooms right now and let’s dance sky view is not playing around it is not playing around it is here but Christopher come up close because we have the pistachio colored centers of the fettes and then it ages out and it looks like we’re getting this like combination of Pinky purple which kind of makes sense cuz when I toss the aluminum sulfate into the spring I kind of went from this direction and you’ll notice the front is more purpley blue and the back is Pinker but I can’t imagine well actually at first I thought well I can’t imagine it would work that easily but let’s stand Sky View is known for being able to be turned blue much easier oh right and it’s more of a sky blue color not a deep blue and when we planted them we also put aluminum sulfate in there because we wanted the blue um look at the midnight masade penstamin really growing in very nicely Monty is glowing bright what else is new and fresh since the last video ell roses hello what an incredible color I mean up against the sensation honeysuckle you’ve got the yellow and the cool lambir color below gorgeous really really pleased I know that’s some cool kfy beneath there the quickfire Fabs are coming in nicely should we go that way or that way let’s go this way quick let’s go this way uh we did that last video that last video oh we added in some Let’s Dance lovables which is new hyd ranger from Proven Winners this is going to get about 3et tall and wide so they’ll all be touching eventually they blo on new and old wood they are big leaf hydranga our Jensen n is looking nice we did come in and uh dead headed a little bit and did some more deadheading today yeah it is sending out some fresh blooms I don’t think it’s a rebloomer I’m not quite we have to study up on this a little bit more even if it didn’t the combination now is so L I’m really happy with it we do have some sweet romance lavender to plant that hasn’t gotten in the ground yet but I think this is the right spot oh lar sending is faded otherwise I’d show you guys there’s a fresh one on the other side okay but look at Crown Princess Margaretta is she happy uh speaking of happy not that we well let’s take a moment to admire Crown Princess first but then look to the right my left that lemony Lace Elderberry is also very happy it has quadrupled in size since it was pruned yeah it might be too happy we’ll have to reconsider that maybe I don’t know but I’m really excited about it what else is coming up we showed the sh birie eyes in the last video but come on over here the reminiscent pink roses have done very well and are rebounding very nicely from the little Nibbles from the deer on top it’s interesting though how a lot of the blooms are facing the house I think that’s cuz that’s s right that’s the sun side so maybe they turn their faces to the sun like daffodils Still Water Claus oh look at those they smokes that’s lovely also I’ve noticing the Obelisk has tilted itself a little bit towards the north we oh well you know but look at this this is why we love the Ancient Mariner and there’s more buds coming there so many buds this will be in bloom longer than any Rose we have although those reminiscence I think are going to give it a run for its money I know but also to your left Christopher flavor at Honey apricot wow it’s incredible it’s really incredible and our standby me Claus Is In Bloom I have to say I am very proud of my 29 petite floret dollas they’ve been pinched they’re all on drip they’re growing beautifully there’s a lot of new growth on them and I’m fascinated with how many different colors there are just in the leaves so being that they’re from seed we don’t know exactly what color or shape or form they’re going to be we have a loose idea based on what floret designed the mix to be but these are all going to be unique for us I’m very excited about that I’m excited too we just got to get them probably you were talking about a staking system you wanted to put in yes we have some Stakes on the way we’re going to we’re going to do something that is functional but also beautiful because this is not necessarily flower farm style it’s home style it’s yeah it’s just we like to do it cuz it’s fun exactly you’ll notice there’s a new addition right here we had some larger shrubs here but the scale was not right this is a new trais gansa or spider wart called webmas very very cool and you notice it’s got kind of a by color lavender Bloom that’s very similar to standby me lavender so you get different form different texture similar colors let’s do a little update here on the food since the last time that we shared this area we have a ton of potatoes growing that’s exciting The Vines are starting to grow up the trellis after all that heat we had the tomatoes are starting to act happy again gosh we have lettuce honestly this is the first time I know I’ve ever grown lettuce have you ever done it Eric yes I’ve grown lettuce before and I actually think we might have some salad for dinner it’s so fun I get such a kick out of it in the aqua pots there are containers that we’ll talk about in a couple weeks total repeat over here and even the jackly little pumpkin is almost ready for me to start tying in to go up the trellis um alt together we have three lar ascending David Austin Roses that have just been planted this has almost gone over but you can kind of get the effect of this iridescent pinky peachy sheer color eventually this will be a very large shrub lar ascending is a Whopper apparently but it’s known for the flowers to be really beautiful when the light hits them so this is a beautiful spot to sit on the Terrace and when the Sun is setting we’ll get glowing apricotty roses really really pretty absolutely ooh and a Zenia update you grew those zenas too I grew these zenas we had one bloom so far I went through and I pinched them all really hard good because they’re growing really well now I actually see buds already W these are going to do so nice this is oh alpen glow alpen glow that’s right any updates here in the shade just that enormous Sun King aelia Sun King aelia is the king 100% the king it’s funny I was worried about having to stake the um tall fum but I think the Sun King is doing it for me I do have low stakes in here but this thing’s great it just glows enormous and it’s a perennial this is a perennial was flat oh but look at the buds in the back what do we got what do we got we have lots of Gatsby Moon buds this is a very interesting Oakleaf hydrangea is it supposed to say smaller than the others Eric no oh interesting cuz it is smaller and I think it’s taking its time building yeah it’s really really beautiful it is really nice we did end up staking up our Carolina sweetheart Red Bud it just got like a little too leany towards the house and I feel like if it’s going to lean I want it to lean that way uh but since we can’t make it lean that way we’re going to sake it up straight and kind of see how it goes this season um I see out of the corner of my eye aaaai just do a little scan so pretty I love that Rose uh Ringo double pink is growing this was also another bear root oh yes look at this little itty bitty Rose yeah very very C c Emily Bronte is starting to take off really sweet Rose beautiful fragrance which I can smell right now in this really really nice breeze Christopher went and planted this beautiful little drift of saffron Finch and behind it is a new perennial it’s a Yukon yukus ukus yukus ukus it’s a pineapple Lily and it’s purple and that’s kind of cool and a new alium called bobblehead and that gets a little bigger than Serendipity I’m excited about that and some totally stoked rip tied Asters and we know Eric loves to say stoked look at the size of this aster flower I believe that this one comes out next year yes that I’m not sure about but Christopher if you go that way I’m going to go this way this area is turning into such a sweet little spot we have the Hudson Bay hosta back here with a painted Fern in front crested Sur crested surf Silver Linings ardesia our container is starting to come in with the super tunia hoopla Vivid Orchid and werton old Hall has kind of done its first flush but is already starting to get ready for its second flush yeah it’s putting out quite a lot of new growth which is really incredible also incredible is how fresh and happy the lamium is still looking despite the heat that we’ve been having and I know we’re talking about how hot it’s been but we’re wearing layers because all of a sudden this weekend it’s dropped to highs in the 60s so it’s been a little odd it feels like spring again yeah it feels like spring again Claire Austin I mean it’s looking okay it’s looking okay I would say it’s looking amazing it’s looking okay um some hostas and stuff I think we added in there but I think we talked about in our last video oh Miss America I love this hosta because it looks like it’s painted with watercolor brushes it is pretty and our wabisabi wabisabi Japanese maple is really holding its own I remember in the springtime we had limed up this Shiloh Splash River Birch anticipating the size of this Limelight Prime and it worked out I think almost pulled that Limelight Prime out thinking it wouldn’t have room but I think it looks perfect there I mean I could do maybe like one more Branch but I think it really is working so far the letand canos are coming in they’re a little oddly shaped but I think they’re all going to like grow up and even out and do their thing but I wanted to show you Gabriel Oak I mean this rose smell a vision alert smell a vision it’s truly amazing it’s it’s so iridescent and such a high fragrant Rose I I’m so pleased with that I don’t even know what to say about it other than it’s awesome but container update the vision has come to life urbino containers from Campania intern AAL with the obelisk in the center rise up lilac days look at the new flower highly fragrance look at the spray of blooms that’s coming underneath it’s underplanted with P colada Lantana sparkling amethyst superina super tunia miniva Indigo and super tunia saffron Finch and they’re all planted the same all three of the containers I’m not going to lie can you see how they’re starting to intermingle already yes and I think all three look equally as nice if I do say so myself we tried to we kept the same pattern but we tried to start and stop them at different places yeah I’m really happy with them and the head Planters up by the door I put lamium in there those the shade containers are going very nicely the electrical box bed is doing very nicely the Catman is playing very well with the double play Blue Kazo spia the Olympia Claus gosh this is a gorgeous beautiful perfect flower what do you think Eric I think it’s amazing you found that at Trader Joe’s yeah it’s so good it’s so good and remember we had a little impulse by two and a half hours drive away up up at the uh popup location for Gardener Supply this is the the red fox cat Sora since planted look at all the new growth did you notice this Eric I actually did not it comes out in these really beautiful red tones and then it goes into sort of an olivey color that looks like a turtle shell if you ask me and then it ends up a Bluey almost olivey kind of green and then later in the season this is going to be golden yellow it’s a really really cool tree I’m very excited to see how this does over over here at the foundation bed things are taking shape the blue artist floss flower across the entire bed I’m so happy that we did this originally we only ever did it up here around the we white hydrangeas which are happily coming along but now that we’ve got them extended all the way across it makes such an impact I think it also really highlights the shape of the bed when you look at it from the street it’s really beautiful again asyia really shining look at these sort of I call them oil spill colors kind of the pinks and greens and blues and yellows but then with these fluffy white pollinator Heaven flowers really really like them invincibelle Spirit 2 they’re coming along very nicely and that takes us over here under the tricolor Europe European beach otherwise known as the bolor European beach it decided to just be dark pink and purple this year we’ll take it Vanessa Bell not even close to its first flush yet this is just the warm-up act for what will be the most Vivid bright yellow Sunny collection of roses you will have ever seen come on this way Christopher because have I got blooms for you check out teasing Georgia can you believe that it’s on the jardan tower which um is from gardeners you can get it in our shop online but the teasing Georgia this is its third year in the ground very vigorous climber you might remember our training or our trellis installation video where we looped it all around to get as many horizontal branches as possible so that it would Sprout all these vertical flushes and it’s amazing it worked Gatsby pink is starting to put on it’s flowers this so sprawling this year in a way it hasn’t been this year it’s just yeah wide it’s feeling its oats this year it’s really happy speaking of also very happy the lime Ricky hydrangea noticed how tall it got got so tall yeah it’s filled in fantastic and we added in some we white we bit wait wait wait I got it I got it we bit innocent hydranges and they say very small one to two feet tall and wide and they have nice pale pastel colors they can bloom on new wood but much later in the season so they are something you definitely don’t want to prune and we’ll probably protect these in the winter how we’re going to protect them I’m not quite sure but we’ll figure that out when the time comes right over here we did Plant Bath Sheba looking very nice yeah she looks very very happy on that she’s looking happy and the janger room is happening to be honest I thought they’d be a little more robust this season but I think that was just really wishful thinking I have to remember that we just planted them last October and they’re spending this time right now getting established because they were just planted last fall and so they kind of spent the winter sitting there this spring they’re waking up they’re getting their roots in the ground they’re pushing out New Growth I think that they’re getting used to their new home and this year you know they’re moving into the garden and by next year they’re going to be thriving and living and huge and gorgeous and not that I’m unhappy with how they look right now it’s just not quite exactly what I was picturing behind you Christopher our shade area underneath our dapple Willow is looking really nice there’s a nice mix of colors in there I wish I knew the names of these hostas Diamond Lake oh yeah that is Diamond Lake back there Coast to Coast uh is that the gold one yes and and then I know that’s mousers and I know that’s we I love we look at this enormous eaten by something uh jack of diamonds maybe Queen of Hearts jack of diamonds but it’s looking really nice Invincible rubies are starting to butt up this lamium looks good too look how far along our aphrod sweet shr has come and remember that was copas to the ground yeah so imagine how far along it’s going to be by the end of the season also how enormous are incraft gold smoke bushes it’s so pretty it’s enormous speaking of compassing Eric winecraft black winecraft black exactly what we wanted it to do they updated the sizes on the website to like 10 ft tall now well that makes sense when we purchased this they were marked as 4 to 6 fet tall and wide and now I think it’s like 6 to 10 ft tall and wide so I guess we’ll just keep compassing it until we kill it oh my goodness is a storm burst flocks coming out there is a stormburst oh my goodness I didn’t know that that was there and I posted the Kinsley ghost honeysuckle on our Instagram in a real and then I gave it its own post it’s probably the most asked about plant in our garden when people see it on Instagram cuz it is so unique it’s very unique it’s got that eucalyptus look to it and even when it doesn’t have the yellow flowers in it look at just that cool yeah soft look it has those are going to become red berries which is pretty cool we have a couple extra Veronicas we’re adding in there to you know really beef up the magic show ever after Betty Corning is really thriving right now like look at the number of flowers of Betty cornin there’s so many beautiful purple flowers and it really is that fragrant when you walk through yeah and you can see like generous Gardener does shatter and that’s fine this is part of gardening is the beauty of the Petals on the ground I think that is so nice and one more little thing I want to show you before we go our tough stuff hydrange is over here newly added are looking really nice I’m really excited for them in this spot so pretty it’s going to be really nice and just pan over those pink roses Christopher because we can’t not give an update on James Al Austin glowing like a fiend over there Mary Rose Bloomer head off and ger jel loving every bit of it but it changes every day it’s the boom chocadas are blooming I don’t even know if they were blooming last time we were here as well as the ladies mant yeah it everything is just it’s so fast I feel like we could do an update every 3 days even look at how much the Pagoda Dogwood has grown this is about 3 feet of growth Lady of shalot did I’m sorry did we even talk about Lady of shalot we didn’t talk come over here I forgot Lady of shalot I feel like Lady of shot’s best feew from this angle over here because look I mean it is incredible it really is and over I mean look at that one huge spray over there by the Weeping Ruby Falls red bud it’s just incredible I think we could give you guys updates every 3 days thank you so much for joining us today again I’m Eric and I’m Christopher and we’re grow for me gardening thanks for growing with us [Music]

Absolutely gorgeous and pristine 😊
Stunning garden ❤
Stunning! Absolutely stunning! Congratulations
Your garden is looking absolutely beautiful! So many amazing plants. In particular I'm loving the roses. The colour and texture combinations are stunning. Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden with us.
When y’all’s garden wakes up, it really wakes the heck up! Everything is stunning!
Thank you for sharing the cozy atmosphere of your stunning garden. This is the source of my inspiration.
What growth your plantings have all ready. I definitely have some envy. I ordered a Kinzley Ghost Honeysuckle since I saw your beauty. Thanks for sharing.
See you next time. Take care.
Pots in front are lovely!
I spy Haws watering cans a plenty. I’ve been trying to decide which I want. Do you have a favorite? 1 or 2 gallon is what I’m leaning toward. Sooo pretty. ❤
You two are so incredibly talented! Your garden is amazing! 💚💚💚
You have such good taste in plants.
Out of all the garden you tube videos I watch consistently, your garden is by far the most beautiful and well designed. I love your patio and raised bed garden too. Love it all!
Beautiful Yard, stunning. Loving everything you guys have planted. ❤
I also had a clare austin in my sandy English soil. It seemed to need much more water than any of my other roses. I piled manure on which helped quite a lot. Unfortunately the horrendous heat and drought of 2022 killed it despite my best efforts. Everything looking beautiful.
Such a beautiful garden, the design and plant selection is superb…
I think you have brought back the Kintzley’s ghost honeysuckle to the limelight… I’ve seen Janey of Dig, Plant, Water, Repeat plant it…Amazing…Wish we could get one down here in Africa 😍😍
You are so talented! Love your garden!
I battle the deer daily.. I use Bobbex & it is successful ( usually)😒
Hey guys!!! Wards nursery in Great Barrington has their pottery on sale 40% off everything! I’m going back again today Just an FYI
Just found you, love. after several videos, Christophers mic never seems to be working….
Beautiful gardens gents. Well done!
Thanks for the inspiration. Also, I’m amazed by Christopher’s photographic memory of your plant names. Very helpful to viewers like me so we can ID plants we may want to copy in our gardens.
Amazing!
Your garden is absolutely beautiful! I never get tired of seeing it, as I anticipate seeing something new and wonderful each time!
Beautiful…will you be able to keep the Meyer Lemon outside in the cold weather?
I could watch you two every three days for updates for sure! 🤩 Stunning!🇨🇦🌸🇨🇦
Do you all use any kind of edging?
Absolutely stunning!!
Your garden is looking incredible!
Absolutely beautiful 😘
Hello 👋 I’ve been following you for about a year, I was impressed with your garden last year, this year just wow 🤩 stunning 🤩 xx
How do you keep everything so clean. The pollen, dirt and animals have me cleaning things weekly.
❤
Just beautiful, thank you 🙏
