hi everyone and welcome back to DIY garden design ideas I’m John and today we are going to fix a common Garden problem a fence that looks old and worn out I wanted to change the look of my fence and I did it with a simple project you don’t need to be an expert to paint your fence and get great results so get your paintbrush or rollers and let’s do this step one choose a good day painting is easier when the weather is nice and calm so choose a day with sun and low wind don’t paint in the sun because the paint can dry too fast and look bad step two get ready before you start painting you need to get your fence and your area ready this means cleaning your fence from any dirt webs or old paint you might also need to scrape off any paint that is falling off and sand the surface a little bit this will help the paint stick better and don’t forget to put a drop clothes on the ground to keep your plants and grass safe from paint step three use primer primer is like a special coat for your fence it makes the paint stick better protects your fence from the weather and makes the surface smooth put a thin layer of primer with a brush or roller and wait for it to dry step four have fun with paint now it’s time to choose your paint color remember you need to use exterior paint because it lasts longer outside when you have your favorite color put two Thin layers of paint and let each one dry well step five enjoy your new fence when the last layer of paint is dry look at your fence and be proud you just made your old fence look new and beautiful so what are you waiting for get your paintbrush and make your fence look awesome for more garden ideas and tips subscribe to DIY garden design ideas for new videos every week
