  1. It’s hard to watch them go out into the world… I pretty much raised my grandkids, my girl was ill… when they went to college it was so hard! But I came to realize the old saying , give them roots and give them wings… it helps. So proud of both of them. It helps to frame it.
Goats.. yep… we’re thinning our herd , giving my older girls to a family with children.. have keep four beautiful weanling girls! And my Karma.. couldn’t part with her.. she was my house goat, lol… ❤😂❤
Traveling is awesome way to see things!

  2. Safe travels! I have 4 kids. My oldest got his Masters in 2018. My daughter should be getting her's this year. My other 2 seem to work all the time. I was never ready for them to leave the nest. Two of the kids went into the military for awhile but decided they did not want to make a career of it.
The newest addition is a little cutie. Nice little garden haul.

  3. The trip does sound like a lot, but you're right it will be a sweet memory of the last chapter of the teen years.

  4. I had 1 son join the military at 17 he's 23 now, my daughter 24 and a EMT and pregnant with twins, my oldest 25 works local we have a soon to be 18 years old still at home no matter how big they're they'll always be your babies ❤❤❤

  5. For using cucumbers in Asian food…. White vinegar, couple tablespoons of sugar (dissolve), sesame oil and sesame seeds… slice the cucumbers, add to the mixture and let sit for 30 mins… delicious vinaigrette.
My grandpa was Chinese… he would make that stuff all the time … yummy side dish 🥰

  6. Bless You Jess.
I've been here for years and love the knowledge you share and the whole blended family.
They grow so fast and move on to their own adult lives.
    Cherish These Days

  7. Ahhhh. Rain.. 🥰💚 Friggn love it! Also, yea.. I’m I feral lady who adores being outside all day everyday. And I do! 🙌🏽

  8. Jess, my baby boy joined the Navy late last year. 19 years old and he’s having a great time and making good friends but man I miss him so much. Letting your firstborn (or 18th born for that matter) move on to the next phase of their life is never easy but God willing so very rewarding ❤

  9. Jess hope you will have a great trip. Looking forward to see through your eyes the beautiful scenery. Enjoy🎉

  10. Hi Ms. Jessica. Sending the first born off to college is hard. We then come home, feed the other babies that are still at home and before you know it you get a call, "Mom, I've meet the woman of my dreams." Grandbabies soon follow and you will look back and say "Jesus, you know how much I love babies, thank you for this wonderful life." God bless Jackson in his education.

  11. Hey Jess, enjoy your time with the family! I had such a sweet time with my oldest when we moved across the country from California to the Finger Lakes of New York, I could have kept going to Canada! Life is short, enjoy! Peace and blessings 💖

  12. The video and pics you are sharing of the journey have been amazing! Thanks for taking us with you. Witt may enjoy having goat buddies once he gets the chance but seeing him with the horses warms my heart!

  13. You look so proud, and so full of emotion! I remember my son going off to College, actually down in your neck of the woods, Warren-Wilson College in Swannanoa-Asheville area. Such a long ways away from Vermont, and yes, I was an emotional wreck, good way to describe it. My partner got me a "Clancy doll" for my times of missing my far-away son, and I shed some tears holding that silly little rag doll, Jess. You will have the Mom moments, but your boys are so grounded, and know how loved they are. You've done such a fine job, and Miah. Be safe on your journey, and have tons of fun! You've got over 600,000 friends going along with y'all…🌻

  14. That is going to be one long road trip….. Take plenty of snacks! Safe travels, Jess! I feel for you; my youngest just graduated from Basic Training and is out in California…It is the weirdest thing to not have kids at home anymore. Can't say that I like it as I feel quite lost…

  15. I do remember my kids as they were ready for their next step after high school graduation. My oldest enlisted in the Marines. My daughter went off to college as my youngest also went off to college. I cried all the way home with each one as they left and for a day after they left. It is hard being a mom. But I wouldn't change anything at all.

  16. Hope you're having a great time on your trip across America. That is a lot of driving and a lot of laughing and a lot of seeing new things too.

  17. A friend of mine, with older kids, told me last year when my first went to college, and I was a mess, that as nostalgic as I would always be for the “little years”, I’d grow to love this time in their life even more because they become adult people who I’d be able to have a friendship with well as being mom. I’d get to see the good job I’d done raising them to be such wonderful people. Through my tears, I didn’t believe her. It’s a year later and guess what? She was right. I’m so proud of him and proud of my husband and myself for helping to raise such a great human being❤️

  18. Stay safe and have a great trip. Change can be difficult but good. Our kids are on loan from God. They don't belong to us. We only have them for a little while. I bless you.

  19. Good video! Decisions, decisions! LOL. Hope you and the kids are having a safe, fun trip…I assume Jackson will be driving back from Arkansas as it would seem there is a vehicle there to bring back..lol.

  20. I’m really hoping the Farmer’s table has a zucchini and cucumber episode soon. I’ve been loving Korean cucumber salad with gochugaru and I’m planning on making cucumber kimchi soon too.
