“As always, She’s A Mad Gardener and a decorator and anything she wants to be.”

hey y’all it’s Amanda and this is my Texas zone8 garden and today I drove out to Irving Texas and I’m going to be touring Green Acres Nursery okay so I’ve been here a couple of times I really like it it’s more of like a big box Nursery but it’s all nursery and garden stuff so it’s not mixed with a bunch of other stuff I needed a few things for drip lines and then of course I want to check out all the plants Kristen is on her way she’s going to meet us here she actually got attacked by a cat so her hands are all roughed up and she’s in rough shape but of course she doesn’t want to miss going plant shopping so let’s go ahead and head [Music] in [Music] okay I’m going to start over here on on their bulbs just checking what they have for specifically gladiolas so they had the pink lady so it’s 10 for 650 those are pretty and then these Princess Margaret Rose those are nice too now I bought the salmon star at [Music] Costco let’s see blue aisle this one’s pretty but sold out cinnamon F that’s pretty 24 to 36 a little big for me all right a bunch more over here now here’s some Hardy glads these are beautiful 25 for $450 this way’re get it it’s right here okay don’t really see anything that I oh Fox tell Lily hold up ah they’re all sold out darn it I would have liked to have those okay let’s keep looking okay tons and tons and tons and tons of annuals so I’m not super interested in annuals right at this moment so I’m just going to do a walk through slowly just letting youall take a look at what all they have their pricing tends to be towards the center [Music] succulents are a little pricey at 650 each they’re definitely less expensive at homegrown uh homegrown Nursery in [Music] Farmersville over here are a bunch of their vegetable starts looks it’s like 2.95 for tomatoes that’s less than a lot of other places I’ll tell you [Music] [Music] [Music] that [Music] lots more vegetable starts all [Music] 295 this mandaville is really pretty this is called mandaville yellow trellis those are beautiful cladium they’re quart say 650 each that seems a little pricey um but I guess it’s pretty comparable to other [Music] areas [Music] [Music] looks like they’re l landscape flats are on sale 1750 for 18 I might pick up some impatience for the um shap Garden just some mix would be really pretty just a few thousand patunas looks like they’ve got a bunch of cven winners over here okay for some reason right here my microphone stopped recording but these are double up Bonas from Proven Winners which I love I’m obsessed with I actually want to get several of these for my front porch they did really really good in deep shade and they just Bloom their little heads off and got giant absolutely loved having them this year now these areas these are all a lissen that we’ve actually looked at already so I’m kind of skipping by that particular area here’s some bopa they do have a wide variety of super Tunas I still thought it was a little bit pricey for these a quart size uh containers I think they were 650 uh each 750 750 each um still thought that was a little bit pricey but still worth it especially on the super tuna Vistas so if you’re wanting a really large highly productive super tunia you want to get one of the ones that says Vista like this one the fuchsia which is absolutely absolutely stunning these get really really big and they are worth every single penny that you pay for them truthfully they could be double the cost and I still think it would be worth it now this was a variety that I didn’t recognize this Daybreak charm it looks like they’re coming out with a lot of like patunas that are multiple colors which is cool um so it seems like pring winners is putting out several each year I thought these super Bells were pretty I struggle with super bells in my um Garden they don’t do well directly in the ground they do better in a container by themselves with nothing else I felt like that flower didn’t match and so when I moved over I recognized I was like oh here’s the flower night’s kiss but it didn’t match that Priscilla patuna over there so I was confused for a moment I like growing super bells or these are also known as ccoa um like I said they don’t do great in the ground but they do really well in their own pots now peachy keen uh super Bean is on my list this year I would love to try them out I think they’re absolutely beautiful and everybody that I have talked to has had really great luck with the peachy keing super beina Kristen doesn’t want to be on the on the video okay so here is this is actually a k colus right here this vary So Kong mosa so these are the ones I Grew From seed and these are 550 each so I’m feeling really good about growing them from seed these are absolutely gorgeous their leaves get like bigger than my hand really really pretty lots of colus I like this colus with the little bit of the green edging which is beautiful yeah I was going to say is that society garlic cuz I smell it they have a lot of hookas and coral bells over here I actually just picked up three Coral Bells and hookas that I’m going to be planting in the shape Garden today this one’s really pretty Indian summer I like the color especially underneath part of the Lea like that lots of cadians these are all beautiful I’ve got a whole bunch of cadium started From bulb I started so much from seed and bulb and ryome this year it’s been nice because I don’t have to buy as many annuals as I have in the past now they already have all of their zenas out which is awesome so now if we get a freeze these are toast but um these are great and they’ll do really great through all the heat says they’re Cherry that doesn’t look like Cherry Cherry’s the red so these look perhaps mislabeled all of them an this lots of beautiful dianthus this whole table all the way across is dianthus geraniums they are $4.95 each I’ve been really drawn or the bigger ones are more they’re 50 I’ve been really drawn to White this year which is very unlike me of course I always love this pink one it’s called copy pink flame beautiful okay over here we’re starting to get into some perennials so we’ve got the Texas Gold Coline which does really well in our particular area they got a couple other varieties of Coline the’re red and white this one right here’s the purple and yellow early bird this one’s just a mix there you oh here’s some dollas already going oh these dollers are 850 each well that’s cool some venty Royal Purple vampire DEA DEA vampire I bought some smaller ones from here tons and tons and tons and tons of that particular one oh this is a lavender this looks like a NEPA yeah Walker Junior look how pretty oh that’s it’s the Blackfoot Daisy I was like is that enough to the scabiosa pin cushions are beautiful this is almost like a silvery tone are pretty and then a little bit more purple I have some patunas these are really pretty surprised Christ didn’t like these I do I just I need stuff that’s going to last Crystal Sky calra COA Cala this is lavender it’s a French lavender they’re 950 each and this looks like a maybe a Spanish lavender Javelin AR I love Arta sorry excuse me sorry sorry oh ASR Maria oh that’s cool I was thinking about growing some so I’m going to look up the size of these real quick okay I looked up this as Maria colorita CLA it only gets about 15 in tall and I went taller so I can be able to harvest but it’s really fun to see alra Mara out um in the nursery cuz a lot of times you have to buy it online Okay so we’re over here looking Everlast violet blue they were 1150 per gallon these are perennial my area and I’m just obsessed they smell really really good so I end up picking up two of those I’m going to tuck into the garden and then I picked up the supplies for the um drip lines and that’s all I got I feel like I’m getting to the point where I have a lot to plant and get out and I don’t know why I’m picking with this and I’m kind of at the point where I just need to slow down on the buying situation and really get out the stuff that I have get it into the garden that’s what I really need to do I need to plant like crazy we’ve had so much rain my backyard is a swamp right now was pretty intense back there I need to get a lot planted out a lot stuff I started from seed it it’s ready to go got to get it out and going so I really need to make myself some goals of getting my stuff planted in the garden before I purchase anything else um we just kind of at this point but I I couldn’t pass these up these are beautiful I’ve never seen anything like this particular Dian this so I was really really excited and this guy is big enough that I mean in a couple of years I should be able to divide these into more so I got two of those really looking forward to it but I liked Green Acres a lot it was a lot of the same stuff that I’ve seen however however I do feel like they had a really great selection back in the shrub and tree area I thought was really really nice and um that’s always super fun to go through there and then of course that really great deal with um that Kristen guy with the baby blue spruce it’s 1. The Monrovia nursery brand are very good plants from here in California where im at. They are a bit more expensive but worth it!

  2. Tell us the whole story about the cat attack please. Was it her cat? Does she have to get stitches ? So sorry this happened to her. I am a cat lover and have four cats. I know there can be some bad behaving ones. Hang in there Kristan, you’re in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Loved the flower tour.

  3. I saw those clematis today at Lowes, I didn't realize they were evergreen, I'll have to go back and get one now lol

  4. I finally made it out to Covington's for the first time ever last weekend and i loved it. It's about an hour away from me, though, so that's good (so they don't get all the money) and bad because it's an amazing place I'd love to go back to. Picked up a clematis and superbells and a few other smaller annuals for a hanging basket. Love your garden tours!

  5. Thanks for taking us along 😊it seems like they have so many plants available and it’s a huge space!

  6. I wish they had a Green Acres in my area of Norwestern Florida. We are a garden nursery desert. I have to drive 25-45 minutes to find local nurseries. Love watching your garden continue to grow. Your seed starting videos have been a big help to me in my seed journey

  7. Wass just there last week! Came home with a flat of snapdragons, dianthus, and alyssum. Forgot i had already started alyssum from seed… 24+ seedlings that are outside now hanging out.

  8. I was just there today.
Where do you find the verbena meteor shower I saw in your other video? I found seeds and started those yesterday. But hoping to find the actual plants somewhere 💜

  9. Those Baby Blue Spruce were an INCREDIBLE deal!! I'm so glad she got those!! So fun to find a steal like that! 🌲🌲🌲

  10. What an amazing selection and good prices. Here in Md/DC it's too early for many of those plants. We're in peak cherry blossom and spring bulb time. I love weeping cherry trees. Thanks for the tour. I definitely had plant envy.

  11. Try soft touch mahonia! No sharp leaves! Also if you try camellias buy sasanquas. They bloom in fall and early winter. I love Early Wonder.
