CHEAP & EASY way to fill raised garden beds

today I’m filling a 17inch metal race bed and I’m starting with brown paper and cardboard materials I then added a second layer of logs and twigs and a third layer of Unfinished compost which still has green leaves I then added a fourth layer of brown leaves at this point the bed was halfway full and I added an organic soil mix as my fifth layer and for the final layer I mixed finished compost with perlite and added about 3in layer of this material in our garden we mostly grow in race beds and containers and we’ve been using this method to use materials that we have at home it’s a great way to fill up race beds and we’ve never had any issues growing food in them we started growing bok choy lettuce spinach and cabbage in these bed and now that we’ve harvested bok choy it’s time to replace it with peppers last year we grew our Peppers inside the greenhouse and I know that they love this spot as we continue to harvest the remaining vegetables that are growing in these beds we’ll also continue to replace them with our summer crops crop rotation is a great way to make use of your space and you can keep growing more food
