hey it’s Tony brusi and this is our weekend review over the weekend taking a look back at some of the most compelling conversations and stories that we’ve covered for you of the last week brand new episodes back Monday morning bright and early 5 a.m. here on the podcast you’re listening to the hidden Killers podcast this is the hidden Killers podcast with Tony brusi Stacy Cole joining us for a story about the Idaho murders and what going on in Moscow Idaho as a community continues to heal from the brutal murders of four of their students late last year on November 13th 2022 an Idaho community was shaken to its core by the killings of four innocent people and we’ve been covering that tragic story of the Idaho murders and the continuing case against Brian cerg but we wanted to sprinkle in something positive and today we have a story that highlights the incredible resilience of a community dealing with a tragedy following the devastating incident the city had taken some steps to enhance safety by installing more lighting along the Roads connecting the university to the down town and that initiative did bring a sense of security and comfort to the area it allowed students and residents to move forward with a bit more confidence than they had before but really it’s the local students who have truly shown us remark able strength and solidarity and the strength of the human Spirit together they have embarked on a heartfelt mission to create a memorial garden a sanctuary where healing can blossom and the memory of the four precious lives lost can be cherished for years to come through their efforts the Vandal strong bracelet fundraiser emerged weaving together the threads of compassion and generosity this initiative raised over $220,000 symbolizing the collective support and love that poured in from this tight nit Community the harmony of their voices echoed through a benefit concert orchestrated by talented music students and while their Melodies not only filled the air with enchantment but also contributed to the growing funds for the Vandal healing garden and Memorial as their notes soared through the air so did the amount raised reaching an astonishing total of over $200,000 such incredible generosity knows no borders as people from around the world United in saying we care we want to support how can we help in a touching gesture the dean of students for the University of Idaho Blain Eckles revealed that students who knew the victims will play a pivotal role in designing that Memorial Garden their personal connection and profound understanding will ensure that every aspect of the garden carries the essence of remembrance and healing and it doesn’t stop there the university has opened its virtual doors inviting everyone to submit their design ideas to honor those four victims the call for inspiration aims to ignite a spark within the hearts of students as they work together to transform these ideas into tangible features for that healing Garden it’s a testament to the power of creativity and collaboration in healing the wounds and honoring those lost while it’s unfortunate that Brian Colberg had created such chaos around what had once been described as a lovely close-knit Community we are reminded that in the face of Darkness compassion can shine its brightest with the outpouring of support from around the world and the blossoming Memorial Garden this community is now writing a story of resilience healing and unity and may their Journey Inspire us all to be a source of light and love in our own communities this this is the hidden Killers podcast with Tony brusi so much healing that will be going on there really indefinitely and for the rest of the lives of so many of those students thank you for that reporting Stacy you like our podcast be sure to press subscribe wherever you download podcast you don’t miss any breaking updates or discussions on the cases that we’re following for you right here I’m Tony brusi stay with us [Music]
