every single Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. now also on Thursdays at 10: a.m. also so stay tuned for those be sign up for our weekly emails on mrmaple.com and guys we’re talking about 10 of the 20 getting listed you can sign up for our weekly emails to figure out the other 10 we’re going to start off today with Acer pum hiyama this is one my favorite Japanese maples it’s one that I used to have on my business card when I’m at and I would do tailgate markets and hiyama just can give you some outrageous pink reticulation in the early spring yeah now coming out of our green houses they will be a little more green leafing these out slowly gives your best color this one doesn’t revert so you’re not going to get a reverted plant but just know coming out of the green houses we have to keep them in pretty extreme shade uh to be able to water that many at once so they do green up a little bit in a greenhouse perfectly fine tree the new growth will be reticulated as well as the whole tree when it leavs out slower next year awesome plant very popular for bonai one of the more popular bonai types of a reticulated form smaller foliage actually roots and air layers well I think you’re going to love this one it’s an older cultivar from Japan absolutely puts on an incredible pink display I love these in the spring especially as they get some age to them they’re so white and pink think you’re going to want to grab a hiyama today now JD verri considers this one the popcorn Maple it’s got the as it INF furls in the early spring it just has this popcorn effect as it’s coming out with the pink and white reticulation and the crumpled style folage when it does that it it’s extra interesting in the garden awesome plant all right y’all next up we got a Mr Maple intro from Area 51 we got Acer pomatum Kristen star sure to be a star in your garden now this one is named by Bob and Kristen Taylor they actually found this seedling evaluated it for several years we were the first Nursery to get to graph this and get into the trade guys I absolutely love Chrystal star you guys do too this one sells out fast when it hits the 10 of 10 yeah it’s this Tre is everything you love about AE but it’s not a wimp and this one also doesn’t get that fungal issues late in the season that aane does I mean a Japanese nurer paid a million dollars for uh ACA proma mccane because it did the colors that Kristen star does I mean this is an amazing plant short wide it it’s more of a shrub like style we’re talking a tree 4 to 5T tall 4 to 5T wide in 10 years uh an amazing spring interest Japanese maple for the garden if you’re the Japanese nurer that paid a million dollars for a cone you’re going to be pissed when you see these hit the in today cuz they’re going to be a good price all right guys what’s up next we got some uh Open House hours coming at you guys right away guys Memorial Day is going to be our main open house we’re going to be open 8 to5 on Memorial Day get here early uh the Crowds Are Crazy I’ll let everybody know right away Memorial Day is our busiest day of the year here at Mr Maple so please be patient with us we’re going to have a lot of fun things going on a lot of great plants a lot of never-before seen plants here on Memorial Day uh come check us out guys it’s a fun time to be in Hendersonville it’s a great time for the weather and uh come check out Mr Maple it’s it’s our Premier open house of the year so next up we’ve got Acer pomum Kuro Heime also known as the black princess and that’s cuz it puts this black red or purple like new growth over top of this blue green foliage as it ages uh the new growth just keeps coming across in the spring again in the summer uh it is an outrageous tree with a phenomenal fall color as well you know I would like to talk to the person who named this black princess because for me it’s like pink green princess it’s beautiful I love it I haven’t seen too much black it’s a good plant though I think you’re going to love this one for its darker tones that emeraly shade is awesome I actually like this the best late summer cuz you get that popping New Growth that shrimp pink that weird kind of yellowish uh kind of orangey color and then almost like a more emeraly green going on the older growth it stands out in contrast with itself exceptionally now this is a small tree typically four to 5 ft more of a small dense frame making it more like some of those kohime or miraki kohime types that’s where the heem falls in there nice density this one making it great for a patio planer great for anywh you need a small but dramatically colored Acer in the landscape yeah for an up upright dwarf it’s almost like the orangeola in that category I mean it keeps putting on a colorful display and it does go to a bold orange on the fall the fall color is underrated on this tree it is outrageously orange and awesome little tree for use for your coner for beds uh for containers the miniature railroad Gardens as we Corner the market on that always fairy gardens awesome tree for small spaces all right y’all we’re bringing back Dark Knight yeah The Dark Knight Returns right uh I remember reading Talon’s blog about this and we love it because it could be a reference to Batman Talon literally said I would have never named it dark knight if I knew it had any association to all that Batman BS that’s what said his vog I was like dang it I thought I had a cool name I love Dark Knight again I’m a Batman fan but awesome tree one of the darkest of any of those new ghosts you get that reticulated veining going on with just a really interesting structure and a really nice bold red the fall yeah the reticulation on this is extremely nice uh for me this is one of the best of the new ghosts it it’s basically very much like a darker purple ghost with really prominent veining even later into the season uh love the upright structure of this I mean the upright structure reminds you of something like Amber ghost and uh an amazing tree all the way around I think you’re going to love this one great sizes they’re just starting to Leaf out a little late too which is a good characteristic for these some great SI size Dark Knight you know what pair well with that AC Sher solum sunny as anything pairs well with yellow yellow brightens the landscape and sunny it’s going to brighten your smile and you’re going to enjoy this in your garden got some great sizes on these as well some beautiful one gallons uh Sunny a Seedling from Jordan with some great color to it now when this one first leavs out in the early spring especially if it’s getting a little bit of sun you can get some of my favorite shades of orange on this one giv it a really nice Hue giv it early morning sun late day sh fade it does fade to a little bit more of that yellowish Hue like you’re seeing now and guys I love this one for its growth rate typically well over a foot of growth a year giving it an excellent growth rate for a full Moon maple now being Acer Shir salum Sunny from Jordan it is a shum X palatum so some of the younger growth may look a little more palatum like but as this tree ages just like Jordan you start to get more of that shirom look to it with that bright orange color too an outrageous tree from that yellows to the oranges uh it’s a tree you’re gonna have to have beautiful plant great orangey red fall color on these as well um just excellent plant all around I like putting these in a container kind of moving around to play with the spot you can get them a lot of early Sun that way get that bold orange but then protect them as it gets into the summer really a fun plant though Early Morning Sun late day Shades going to be advisable for most locations but you guys are going to love what Sunny does and I love that growth rate too I love that it fills out so nicely so we’re going to have multiple Siz of rusin coming back to the website today these are some of our xl1’s we also have some high graphs and we also have some low graphs of rusin getting back on Mr Maple today uh these are the XL sizes so these are actually ones that are a little bit bigger than our typical one gons some of these may not fit in one gallon shipping boxes and may have to ship in a mediumsized shipping box Guys these are awesome you’ve heard us talk a lot about rayus coming from Kobe a EG that’s a 300-year old Japanese maple Nursery there uh near saitama absolutely great people we love visiting them every time we’re in Japan rusin they go way back to T mukama they named rayus uh great plant the original one there is kind of high grafted on an old tree and it’s like a big umbrella that welcomes you into the nursery it’s crazy uh absolutely a cool thing to see I think you’re going to love rayus it’s heat tolerant it’s durable this looks so great in the Deep South for high heat locations great fall colors too you can play with this one it gets about as big as you stake it so you can play with the shape a good bit R Us is just so fun because it’s so malleable but this tree is easy to grow it’s heat tolerant and it’s a fun shape out there in the garden there’s not much else that has that strongly cascading weeping habit that extremely cascading weeping habit it’s easy to understand exactly what this tree does because of how weeping and cascading it is and it does have a really good fall color as well great sizes guys grab you an acter pomum rayus today guys coming back on the 10 at 10 we’ve got some small one gallons of Japanese princess you guys love it so we keep bringing it back Japanese princess classic Talon buckolz introduction love this one for that pink color it displays in the early spring now we found that older Japanese princess to start to have a cork bark characteristic to them too so something to look forward to as they age but put this one out for the spring color y’all it’s one of my very favorite trees in the early spring so the pink spring color is outrageous on Japanese princess but the thing that really distinguishes this characteristic of a cultivar of a maawa type that makes this tree so unique and special is the fact that this tree has a twisting uh foliage to it so the leaves twist and curl giving it its own unique thing out there in the landscape as being that maawa top with that layering habit that ruffled kind of twisting foliage adds a really nice uh interesting element to a maawa top forget all that I like the pink spring color awesome plant looks good in the container looks good in the ground looks great in a Conor for garden where we want some high interest deciduous value love it even in a Sunny Spot you get kind of a bleached out older growth on it with pink New Growth uh I over plant I probably have 15 Japanese princess in the ground I try to keep two of everything we go with the Noah’s Arc method I’ve got like 15 of these bad boys around I do need them for production that’s how I justify it but man grab you a Japanese princess today they’re back on the 10 of 10 they won’t last long these are Smalls but they go quick next up we’ve got some wi gallons of Acer pomum kohime yeah these are great looking kohime guys again popular for bonai Koh has some of the smallest leaves in the Japanese maple world and that he form kind of gives it a toad stool like shape don’t think of this one as pendulous but think of it as a small mushroom top there in the landscape absolutely gorgeous plant this one leavs out with a bright purple border but that heat tolerance and durability are there this one can handle a good bit of sun and if you put this in a patio planter you’re pretty much done you’ve got everything you need going on there the color is going to look outstanding makes a great container plant it’s one of those plants that when you see it in the spring interest it’s one of those trees you’re drawn to you can have tons of Japanese maples around but when you see that purple etching that red etching uh around the edge with the green interior you’re drawn to this tree and it becomes a tree that quickly becomes one of your favorite trees especially in the spring garden it’s a good tree let’s go next up guys we’ve got pinus parva Flora blue Lou oh man this is a great plant it’s going to work zes 5 through 7 you know pinus parva flora and blue Lo is one of the very best of this that blue shade is exceptional now this tree is only listed as 3×3 in a long time in like a 10 15E span some excellent looking specimens this already shipping in our big seven gallons what I like about this is I love the pine SP floor the Japanese White Pines they just give a good blue color in the landscape they pair with Japanese maples they invoke that Japanese feel in the traditional Japanese garden blue L being a dense compact form it really does that in a tight dense habit short needles excellent for bonesa and guys we’re shipping seven gallons now these seven gallons we’ve got a special box just for them and we’re trying to offer some bigger sizes through mail order and now we can ship these seven gon blue L directly to your door you don’t have to be here just for a pickup you can actually get this shipped directly to your door these are excellent sizes y’all these are from our buck hols Farm go watch our blue Forest walk through there’s some excellent trees in there and I think you might see some blue l in that Garden as well one of our favorite trees there in the blue forest all right y’all last but not least we we’ve got fagus sylvatica perple ranana check out this sun Beach this is a really nice Beach this beach it’s awesome it stays dwarf dense Compact and it’s a dark purple it holds it color fairly well zones 4 through 7even an awesome beach to add to the landscape you’re going to love this one the dark colors are great we’ve got a black tablecloth down here you can see how dark these are showing up that smaller stature is going to look incredible for them they contrast so well with any of the lighter colored plants in your garden and add a lot of texture and color there these are going to work zes 4 through seven keeping a really small stature they look excellent next to yellows but guys this is going to contrast even with your dark maroon Japanese maples giving you an even darker kind of Plum color going on there in the landscape absolutely incredible plant and uh you’re going to love this beach in your guard I mean awesome tree small dense compact haboc good color what more can you want from a beach you’re going to be saying Beach please all right guys that was our 10 10 for today uh you’re you’re going to love coming to our open house so definitely come see us then it’s going to be Memorial Day that’s May 27th from 8:00 1. Always wish I live closer to attend those open houses, but glad to hear you guys are now shipping bigger sizes!

  2. This is such a good 10/10, but my wife would kill me if I got more trees so soon. She said its me or the trees. So im getting that miniature train garden installed next week

  3. Kurohime got her name because she became the partner of the black dragon. Like many fables there are various versions and endings but regardless of a good or bad ending the stories seek to explain the name of Mt. Kurohime which is named after her. Perhaps a paring with ghost dragon would fit the story. lol

  4. Question what can i use as a fungicide to protect my trees over the winter. ? And can i spray the trees before they bud out in the spring to prevent fungus effecting the tree?
