very warm day today 62° and full sun all day so priority today is to make sure everything has got water we don’t want plants shriveling up I have Al been back out and bought some more and answer a question at the same time if you remember we bought some of these packs a pregrown carrots which is a very strange thing because as a rule you should direct SE carrot seeds otherwise the tap rout will Fork but I realized why they’re doing these packes now it’s because of the variety the ones we bought recently was those little round ones so obviously they’re fine to be started off in cells but then I went back again today and I found a different variety and the chanton Royals which are little stubby carrots so that’s the reason why you can buy them in these Pikes at least we’ve answered that question and then I saw these as well got to get them that’s celery and if you’ve ever tried to grow celery before you’ll know that the seeds are like dust they’re tiny they take a long time to germinate and they’re quite hard to actually get going so a pack a pregrown celery seems way forward and these are self blanching type as well so you ain’t got to bother trying to cover those stems up when that time comes so as before a couple of packes $2.99 each 12 celery plants and a bunch of multi-one carrots you’ve got to do it and we’ve been doing some more work on that planter we’ve basically stained it and then we’ve varnished it with yacht varnish and now we’re going to get some liner as everybody keeps suggesting which makes perfect sense because otherwise things are going to start to rot and we want to make these last as long as possible so today’s job is going to be fitting that liner maybe filling that planter and actually getting some plants in but I’ll show you what it looks like at the moment we’ve just done the one so far but because it’s going to be sunny and warm all day we’ll probably get both of them finished and just before I go over there we’ve got this plant and I cannot remember what it’s called if anybody can drop me a comment if you know what this plant’s called and that’s his planter Jenny stained it then we varnished it and now it looks even better so we’ll get that lineer put in today and we’ll be ready for filling and planting meanwhile we’ve got that one that’s waiting to be done at some point today and we definitely need to leave that lid open on that Cold Frame cuzz if we don’t as plants are going to shrivel up they look all right at the moment but it is going to get very often a through day and you can see that this pepper has now starting to get drooping leaves which is a Telltale sign that it really needs watering so we’ll get the watering part of today done first and then we’ll move on to something else one thing we definitely need to keep his eye on is these plants they’re getting quite big now and they KNE potting on cuz if we don’t putt them on they’re going to grow even slower so apart from everything else I’m going to be doing today we’re putting some stuff on that’s a red bell pepper that is a yellow one but we’ve also got a few tomato plants as well that we need to sort out and if we only just take them up a stage that will keep them going for now till we get this set up so we can get them planted in the final place and of course as little tomato plants they should be okay for now they’re very small plants like this yellow tumbling Tom so they’re going to be fine so I’ll sort out a few of these big plants then we’ll find something else to do so for now I’m going to move them into 2 ler pots that I’ll keep them going for a couple of weeks or at least ensure that they don’t get root bound before we move them I have have a quick check of these plantss and see what the roots are like on them we Haven checked them since we bought [Music] them they’re not actually as bad as I thought but you can see they’re definitely ready to be moved there’s quite a lot of roots at bottom of there so we’ll concentrate on those I actually saw one at neighbors this morning in the van just behind me and just on backer his van to one side he’s got a water bot and he not done his door this morning and says if you want to use that water for your plants you’re quite welcome to do so because he’s not growing any plants at the moment so very Ney and a very nice thought so I filled a container with compost and we hav sved it because we’re putting big plants in so there’s no need but we’re just breaking up the biggest lumps and then I’m going to add some feed to it which is good especially if you’re buying really cheap compost it’s always a good idea to add a bit of feed so a couple or handfuls of bone meal we know as plants is going to get lots of Nutrition By Doing it this way this is one of me tomato plants that is a money maker let’s see what roots are like on this one not bad at all I think that one could probably stay where it is until we actually put it in a big container for the rest of the season but we don’t want these grafted plants to get ruined so I’m definitely moving them into two ler pots so just going to make a nice all in that nice and deep and then we’ll see where we’re at with this plant just roughing up those roots on bottom as well to get them started and then we’ll pop it in and we want it just below that surface and we’ll straighten it at the same time and Center it I think that should be okay so just a quick fill around that edge and we’ll firm it in really quick easy job well your plant will definitely thank you for it and then we’ll get that label popped in so we know exactly what it is I don’t want to mix up peppers and chilies so that’s one done in just a couple of minutes that was as red bell pepper so now we’ll look at the yellow one it’s pretty much same not too bad though which is good so once again we’ll part fill that make that all loosen those roots and then drop it in and if you bury your pepper plants a little bit deeper because the Ley it won’t hurt them in this case we don’t really need to we just need to straighten it up we’ve got some leaves on bottom there which are your first leaves that came out you might as well take those off they’re not going to do anything at this stage so once again nice and straight nicely firmed in and that’s another one done so that’s it for that labeling and we know where we are so now we’ve got two really nice looking pepper plants moved into 2 L pots that’s going to buy us a bit of time and we’ll save pots since I had to leave so many behind so a little bit of something done already and it’s only early morning so I’ll crack on and I’ll get some more of these plants put into those 2 L pots so that when that time comes to move them into the Planters or big containers they’ve not suffered at all and we’ve guaranteed ourselves really nice elfy plants and then later on today we should have that planter finished so we’ll get some of us bought plants in there and finally get something growing outside this Caravan container garden and if you want to see what we’re doing over the next few days please hit that subscribe button press that notifications Bell and I’ll see you soon take care

For us watching from USA , we appreciate you using degrees and educating us on the norms and/or surprises in the weather.. Its all about sharing and learning something we didn't know yesterday. That's how you build community without walls! Thank you…..
Will the stain/vanish have any effect on the soil or plants?
What a nice neighbour, so pleased you have someone good next door. Containers are looking very good too. Stay safe x
You should've gotton galvinised raised beds. For example see birdy's . All sizes no rust with the right screws , nice early warmed up earth. Fill up the hugelculture way and when moving simply lift up or dismantle. And they Go a long way!
Round B and Q today – people buying bedding plants galore – what’s the chances if frosts now?
You two have really hit the ground running since your move. It’s amazing how much you have done in just a week can’t wait to see the progress over the summer! You are a great inspiration for what you can grow and how for anyone with no garden or limited growing space. Thank you for sharing your journey with us ❤
Very kind of your neighbour, to let you use his water butt. Ginny as done a great job on the planters. Thanks for sharing.
Ivan Iv just been planting my potatoes in some of my pots from last year but when i was repurposing the soil with bone meal and chicken manure, You won't believe what i found buried in the bottom of one of the pots, An egg not sure how that got in the pot.
Love the color you choose for the planters. Tell your neighbor thank you from all of us. After all, what you grow helps all of us learn new things.
Euonymus i think
Hi ivan.your doing great 👍..I took a screen grab of that plant you were unsure of, according to Google it's telling me it's a "japonicus" flowering evergreen shrub…great channel and thank you for the hints & tips
Euonymus
Euonymos
I like the way you stuff the plants in front of the camera so we can see 👀
Thanks Ivan, the planter looks really nice after Ginny has worked her magic as she had with your furniture indoors. That was a nice offer from the new neighbour to use the water from his water butt. Have a great week. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Nice planters and nice neighbour. 👍
What a great neighbour you have there. Got some tomato and strawberry plants at the weekend and potted them on, they're looking good. One strawberry is actually starting the push out a flower, which I imagine is a good thing? Sure we'll see, thanks again for your videos on repotting those, gave me the confidence to take the plunge, I'd avoided them for fear of messing up!
Really enjoying this new series.
What a lovely tree behind you when you were showing us the plants that need larger pots (around the 3:30 mark). Enjoyed the birdsong, too. You seem to have good light in your new location, inside and out. Ginny chose a good colour for the planters. Well-done the both of you.
It’s so nice that your neighbour offered his water to you obviously he’d intended to grow plants at some time, maybe you will be an inspiration to neighbours as well as your YouTube followers.❤️
Euonymus japonicus.
Really amazing to see lots of progress on your garden. I noticed you plant seedlings in pure compost. Do you ever find the need to use potting mix, or just compost and bone meal? Sorry if you've already explained that before. I'm new to your channel ❤
Hi Ivan great job with the container garden, is that big three on your property, nice of your neighbor also 🍅
Sweet cherry pie lvan thank you ❤🍒😁
Thank you for your straightforward videos!
Is your mystery shrub/tree/plant a Variegated Portuguese Laurel Ivan? Think my parents had the same bush in their front garden. I'm no expert but it looks the same. Can you send some of that Lincolnshire sunshine up to North Yorkshire please ❤
I managed to get some free (on the way out) chantenay carrots like yours last year and they were fantastic. I've sown my own in the same way this year and I'll transplant them all in a line again taking the biggest first. Yours will be great.
Things are really moving along! Very nice! The carrots are so interesting. We seeded for the first time this year directly in a pot, March 9. I thinned them out a while back. Today I see the tops popping up and I covered them with soil. I was so excited! We have carrots! They are still only about a half inch wide. But they are a variety here in Florida called “Short and Sweet”. They grow wider but only about 4 inches long. Perfect for our space. Hope they keep going! I like the way you got yours already growing in trays. Great way to get them. From seed seems to take forever. Happy planting! 🥕🤗
