My tongue graft appears to have failed after about a month. Is it to late in the season to do these type of grafts? I gave up, and took the scion and cut off the buds and I am trying to make a patch bud graft instead. In a T bud graft, they cut under the bark and slide the edge of the patch under it. What is the reason for this?
This is not a true T bud graft, but I did cut under the bark at the side and bottom, and slid the patch under it. Is this necessary, and will it help it take easier?

Does this nectoring scion look viable? That was where I got the buds.
