The hosta is one of the most adaptable, prolific, and easy-to-grow garden plants.

There is a dizzying array of sizes, shapes, hues, and textures to choose from among its thousands of varieties.

Although many hosta species can withstand full light, it is still one of the most popular options for shade gardens.

It’s little wonder that many gardeners incorporate hostas into their landscapes.

in fact, many opt to plan their gardens around hostas.

Both slugs and caterpillars can cause harm to hostas.

If you want your hostas to stay manageable and have good root systems, divide them every three to four years.

  1. Beautiful ideas. I am in the process of digging mine up, dividing and planting most of them in containers since we have a fence going in. At this stage I’m just tired. Been moving or taking out trees since last year to clear a path where the fence is finally being built. We are almost at the halfway mark and I am getting excited seeing one side done.. beautiful back drop, feels private and safe. I think by fall I will have a better idea of how to do the beds in front of the fence line with rearranging all the plants I had to dig up and place in containers.
