  1. I agree Laura the wind is the worst! We get bad winds over here in Northern California too!

  2. Laura the geraniums and the petunia Priscilla are gorgeous! Can't wait to see them fill in. Your weather…..wow!💨💨💨
    Blessings 💞 🙏🏻 💞

  3. We had a very warm spring here in zone 6b Cleveland Ohio. Today low 60s cloudy with some rain. Love the all the plantings!!

  4. Love the rose on the chicken coop. My climber flushed out early and now has nothing. I am disappointed and can't figure out how to get it to bloom again.

  5. Persephone garden looks absolutely beautiful with the lime green of the trees above and white flowers. Very classy. I also really like the wire vine for the containers by the Hartley. I've never grown geranium from seeds, but you have inspired me for next year. Your property is just beautiful. So happy for you! You certainly put in the work, and it's wonderful to be able to enjoy it with you.

  6. Laura, do you watch garden shows with a glass of wine ?

Because that is what I do, after finishing my own garden project.

  7. Laura I am continuously amazed at how much work you can get done in a day! Your garden is so beautiful. Do you think you could give us a tour of it? Today it was so nice to get a glimpse of how many things were in bloom. Lovely!

  8. I see you give the Kensington fountain base a go that way you will see the scale. You can decide whether you want a bigger or smaller, tall or whatever and you certainly could fill it with beautiful flowers. I agree with you I would not want something taller I would not want it to block the Hartley. those apple blossom geraniums are my favorite. I only found them in Michigan one year and I have not been able to find them since it gives me an idea that you started them from seed. I do not have any kind of a growing space in my mobile home for seeds, but I could put them on my kitchen table and just eating in the living room for a while. Maybe we’ll have to try that next winter./spring. Just so you know this is Michigan and we have nothing but rolling storms and wind constantly for the last month. I don’t think we’ve had two days of sunshine or not having rain. I feel like I live in a swamp.

  9. Have you considered switching out the boxwoods by Persephone and replacing them with something else that matches more? Maybe a small hedge to match the quadrants by the Hartley?

  10. So do you use slow release on all your containers ? What about vegetables? If you had a tomato plant in a container or a raised bed even, would you use slow release or your water soluble or something else? I’m very anxious to hear the answer as everything I grow is in containers.

  11. Have you considered placing the hayracks along the same fence as your 10 large pots(competition). Make that whole lane a long stretch of color

  12. The pansies were so pretty and I was hoping Bethany would get them – thanks for relieving my mind. She is a wonderful person to aid in your gardening. I'd keep the evergreens in the pots around the Hartley for one last year. So beautiful. Incredible wind and the plants seemed to take it in stride – amazing.

  13. I saw someone who did a large multi tiered fountain with succulents. Each one of the dripping points in the fountain had a draping succulent. It was spectacular.

  14. Why take out beautifully blooming pansies in the pots by the Hartley? Why not just enjoy them?

  15. Have you thought about a custom made fountain or planter in the cicles? I don't know about the prices though.

  16. That was some SERIOUS wind, dang! You got a lot done, too, considering all the weather. Love all the pretty combinations of flowers and plants. I, just my personal opinion, would leave the circular area in the Parterre Garden, open so that one can see the beautiful doors of the Hartley and the planted containers surrounding it. OR maybe a Green Mountain Boxwood in the center (circled by the same kind of brick edging), to repeat the boxwoods theme. But, I know whatever you do, it'll be great!

  17. I enjoyed your video but why would you throw the pretty blue viola's out? that was in containers in front of your glass green house.

  18. Since you are leaning toward water in the big circle on your new large patio, why not consider a water feature that has a reservoir under some gravel so that it can recycle? Perhaps a smooth, polished marble sphere so the water pours down and you get the sound without the bulk of a fountain. Even though it has a modern vibe, a little juxtaposition is good in design. Since there are many flower beds surrounding this space, it seems you need something that brings rest to the eye without a commanding presence like a fountain would have. Nothing should compete with the Hartley for your attention!

  19. Had enough boxwoods and benches! Try something totally new in the center of the brick patio. A large, low fancy bowl filled with just inches of water and overflowing with some unique water plants. So many species available with various leaf and color designs. Taro, Water Grasses, Cannas, Rain Lilies, Cattails, Water Lettuce, Papyrus, Cardinal Flowers, plus numerous carnivorous plants. Dare to be different!

  20. What about the fountain behind the chicken coop? Is it aesthetically okay to have 3 in the same general area? I don't know the rules for fountains lol.

  21. My hubby and I were watching/ listening to the video today while on a long distance trip. The song during ther Persephone planting has us breaking out in The Love Boat song. 😅😅😅 It actually fit pretty well.

  22. We spent yesterday morning weeding in the rain at our place along the roadside garden. On and off sprinkles with occasional big drops, but everything came out of the ground so easily and once the mulch went down after it was just so satisfying to look at. And as it happens here in Sequim a lot, the sun comes out in the early evening and it was stunning 😀 Looking forward to using my new Laura edition auger to plant more color!

  23. I think a small version of a city park fountain would be nice. Little up spray of water. Add colored lights, for Aaron to play with. Kids would love it.❤

  24. Excellent work ethic Laura! "Blowing" through that planting project, such determination. You're like the old mail carriers…neither wind nor rain nor sleet nor snow! 😂👏bravo!

  25. When you mentioned putting in the base of your fountain in that area, I thought how beautiful a round reflection pond would be. It would be low enough and so serene! I am always impressed at your determination on pushing through no matter the weather! It will all be gorgeous with that color combination. ❤

  26. I love & enjoyed your video today! It’s incredible plants you’ve planted! Thank you Laura so much for the treat! It starts my day right!🌻

  27. What about a fountain with no tiers but with water jets that you can adjust? Maybe with a large contour to allow sitting by the fountain? Speaking of water, when will the plants put in storage for the winter find their way back into the pond?
