This short gives you a couple pairs of companion plants you should avoid when trying to grow plants close together. Check out the full video on my channel to see the other pairs.
when companion planting or planting plants next to each other in general you shouldn’t do these three pairs so the first one is corn and tomatoes these two pairs love similar resources and both have extensive root systems these root systems get intertwined meaning the plants are fighting for the same resources especially nitrogen they’re both nitrogen lovers they both also love sun and because corn grows faster and gets taller quicker it starts shading out the tomato plants and these little guys start to suffer another huge problem for these two plants is they’re both affected by the same fungal and bacterial diseases because of this if one of them get affected there will be widespread disease throughout the whole plot the second pair are anything in the Cabbage family and peppers the Cabbage family includes things like kale broccoli brussel sprout and one of the big problems is plants in this family release a compound that affect other plants nearby
