Can someone identify this moss?
I think it is climacium americanum or climacium dendroidus but I honestly can’t tell the difference from online pictures and I could be completely wrong. I found this on a wooded path in NY state- it had such a striking texture that it caused me to stop and take a pic- it looked like a collection of tiny succulents from the trail but upon closer examination it’s obviously moss.
