I’m grafting a Black Madeira fig scion to an LSU gold fig rootstock. I grafted it a week ago, but the scion had no connection to the rootstock twig after waiting a week. Is this normal? I gave up, so I took the grafting tape off and recut the ends, and reversed it, putting the “V” cut on the opposite side. Was I being impatient by not waiting longer? How long does it typically take for the scion to begin making a weak connection to the rootstock?
Sorry about the fuzzy photo. For some reason, my phones camera always does this. Everything that is close, that I want to be crystal clear becomes blurry, while everything in the background that I don’t care about, is crystal clear.
