so that’s a little structure that you have up there to keep a net over to it people say you going anywhere on vacation I was like yeah about 10 ft off my front door what got you addicted to this all of a sudden in the last 3 years boom are you kidding me I mean look at this granite table look right out [Music] there a lot of dogs here woo you got some big dogs yes I do hey Chris how you doing good morning how are you good to see you good to see you right in the front yard huh absolutely what kind of dogs are those sweethearts are they Great Danes does what’s a do Doberman doberman’s okay dog guy maybe we should leave them in there [Music] hey how are you make you at the uh water week wateren weekend I do follow you on Instagram Professor so what year is this for you with the pond the pond we got installed I believe it was either September or October we were able to squeeze in in 2019 okay so right at the end we actually I think we were the last job or second to last job so this is season four kind of say that so who’s the gardener because boy this is fantastic well I got the connections so yeah well what do you mean you have gardening connections so basically this was 2019 uhh so we did a terrible thing is we went to Brian’s house this was the original thought and then we go to Brian’s and we see the sunken patio uhh this and this was the fall of 2019 okay when that was done before we even hit Christmas we were kind of knowing that we wanted a stream to incorporate that uhhuh and then that was is May of 2020 okay so it was installed at the end of the season of 2019 and already by may you were up we were addicted uh but the nice thing is we were looking at that and so they had left us in a good spot cuz obviously we were talking same building obviously CHR bran and Chris and so this was where we had talked about so it was two phases two phases it was only months apart cuz of the winter otherwise we probably said hey get over here you left some tools okay so I’ve got to ask you yes sir this is spectacular the gardens are you or your wife a gardener or is this a new hobby or what she takes all the credit okay so it’s my girlfriend Julia uhhuh she takes all the credit for that after the stream was installed we did have Aquascape strategically place some of the ornamental so uh the maple Japanese maple the Japanese maple the uh Birch the sumac he started over here with the baby blue so he placed basically was kind of most of the ornamental trees yeah and then you guys did it in between were you the muscle and she was the ideas and said put it here here honey no it was through her ideas with the landscapers okay so I did some of it but someone’s got to work and pay for all this well let’s go check it out from up above this is spectacular the idea when Brian came out was design it so that you could sit up by the house and see it look at the size of the elephant here at the end of the season here and that’s in then your Wetland filter there right that’s in our uh Ed the pound profession fog system there yes absolutely right and then you’ve even got rainwater harvesting huh two okay we got one here and then there’s another one over there to help keep it topped off and I would imagine that work does a pretty good job of keeping it oh man I love this till right outside your front door you have this living area right here huh unfortunately it’s wet but yes we do have that yes the fire element boy you have every Bell and whistle here what was here before grass so I got to ask you what got you addicted to this because this is an addiction now all of a sudden in the last 3 years boom well you were supposed to bring some tools cuz we were supposed to start on the back of the PO I’m not being serious how long have you lived here 31 years 31 years so how did this whole thing come about love animals love nature so if you look almost like the mini State of Florida right there if you walk that way that’s Wetland yes you walk that way that’s Wetland yeah really it is yes in the back is Wetlands we pulled up our phones and LIF at our GPS so there’s Wetlands you can see The Cattails there’s Wetlands on all three sides unfortunately downfall is keeping a net on there we lost about 20 fish but from so that’s a little structure that you have up there to keep a net over top of it so the hair yeah pulled it off it’s too cold I didn’t want to go in there and uh take that out so unfortunately years past we’ve seen herin and babies before the pond just in the yard cuz you know we see them flying overhead like if you’re sitting out here I mean they’re just too many to kind of like well maybe they won’t come by it’s we are in the birds but it is more like uh it’s the natural Wetlands if you look on your GPS there right so unfortunately we lost about 20 fish so that has stopped that oh absolutely but the Landscaping is so lost and look at this look at how the Aquatic mint and the Clover is just and that’s all part of the filter and the creeping jenny the umbrella plant so I love the vertical element of the stack slate earn on top of the stream that you added that’s a gentleman named Brian that you have to talk to his idea yeah the sound I mean I feel like I’m at an oasis sitting here what do people say they come to your house for the first time after 31 years of you Liv in here well they know why I don’t go on people say you going anywhere on vacation I was like yeah about 10 ft off my front door wow so pick and choose your battle nothing wrong with going on vacation I love every time I pull off if I’m going to get the mail or running out to the grocer store usually stop right here and I just fruits your labor right so how has this been I’m assuming this is a labor of love and very therapeutic for you guys to tend the garden and be out here with your fish how is this what would you describe how living the Aquascape lifestyle has changed how you use your property in your house just always I encourage people whether you live in a little small like traditional City lot or whatever when people tell me and I was a tile Setter for 29 years uhh and so when people say I don’t like my flooring I hate going into my kitchen or I hate this and stuff I was like we have you have to find something that you’re going to enjoy going in throughout your house yeah and you know you got to pick and choose and what’s practical for a younger family and there’s kids all over this you’re an animal person you got a bunch of dogs and stuff so get something practical you’re going to be happy with but you need to find that Comfort level something that’s enjoyable and it’s going to get your mind off the negativity yes and that’s inside the house and outside the house too when I get a chance to pull up and see all this even in winter time and I feel bad for the fish they’re like like to bring them inside it’s like man still so enjoyable and everything we did and that’s why we’re loving the Evergreen that are out cuz then we’re still enjoying some beauty and this traditional Chicago land winner do you shut the waterfall off or you keep it running depends if we’re hosting Christmas or not okay okay normally we’ll keep this running if we’re going to host uh Thanksgiving or something like that we’re try to keep that running as much as possible this normally gets shut down and then there’s two pumps are you an extreme individual cuz this is Extreme to go from grass to this see the property can support size yeah it looks great so and I see people that fill up their backy and I think that’s awesome too besides mowing the grass and you get a place to sit down and Grill like okay are you and your girlfriend equally yolked and your passion for the water feature and the Landscaping yeah she’s definitely way more knowledgeable and experience with you know what goes we and all was all her the plants do you love the fish of course I love the yeah wow this is just terrific I got to tell you I see a lot of ponds but you have taken it to another level with the lands escaping the design that Brian and you guys came up with I’m going to give you a 10 out of 10 buddy thank you you know I just everywhere I go I see new things to explore I mean look at this whole sunken area which of course was inspired by Brian’s sunken a Vanishing Edge waterfall but man and then the elephant ears the plants and of course you could adjust the water level in here I love how the fact that you can just literally walk right in and have that oh so nice especially on a hot summer day are you kidding me I mean look at this granite table that is in here the steps The Vines the potato vine that’s just growing here I mean gosh you tell me I don’t think that they could cram one more cool exotic and unique plant into this property and then of course the backdrop so that you block the road back there and all the little decorations and how people do it it never gets old seeing how they customize their water feature and I imagine at night time this place with I can see all of the pathway lights from Aquascape is lit up like a Christmas tree look at this just little rivets of a waterfalls coming down here with the Gran look how cool that is the guys did a really nice job and then this that little sound boy I got to tell you I get to see a lot of water features and the tropical plants but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen one that has more stuff put into a space awesome fish that he has then this one what do you guys think you tell me have you ever seen a water feature that I’ve ever showcased that has more detail than this one just amazing so Chris yes sir I’m saying to all of my viewers that I can’t imagine there’s not an inch of available space over there then you’re saying that you’re wanting to do something more yes what do you want to do well it never gets old to see what people Visions face the camera that way I’m not going to look at it okay actually right in through here Brian had the great idea when I want to do something here for there’s a lot of road noise coming up more traffic building building building and so potentially want to do something through here just a waterfall or a pondless but on the noisier end and what I would really love is sunken patio like we have there which I think is fantastic it’s basically once it’s built besides the Landscaping it’s basically maintenance free it’s not like you got to keep maintaining it or painting or doing we got the uh composite cheers in there so you know hose those off and that’s F but just right here as you look this way and if you can get the views always too in the summer months when it’s very nice they have a sunken patio in here go down a couple more feet and then that’s your view and then along with this view so basically you’re never done even when you got every Bell and whistle you know what it’s just uh why grass right hey I love it why grass but as we get further back here you could really start seeing the Meander and it’s kind of hidden as like what’s going on there well which is what you talked about it you know cuz you said Brian’s talked to your girlfriend and you know he’s got the vision for how to landscape it absolutely I think and this people I see that do the pond and it’s great but I think even with the smaller pieces of property when they have the trucks there the Aquascape and they have the real estate in the front just to have something small be a traditional I’m trying to battle the road noise and love this but could be neighbors barking dogs anything going on just when you pull up you’re kind of like ah before you get out of there and get into the house you know out of your vehicle and it’s like just having a little something I think in the front small scale maybe it’s just a little n or spear tied in with the right Landscaping I just think like when I see even on the pon tours it just have a little something to drown out that street sound neighbors everything else depending whatever I don’t worry about neighbors I’m worried about road but it’s just the serenity of it when you pull up it’s like oh yeah you an A++ project thank you buddy I appreciate it it never gets old seeing the vision and how people get bit by the water gardening bug I mean the fact that he’s actually thinking about doing more when he already has
