If you have too much mint, and you live in a hot climate, I have a way to help both. It's called lemon mint, and it's a delicious drink. It's not a mint lemonade. It's thicker and more delicious. You take about 1 cups of mint chopped finely, 1 cup lemon juice, 1 cup of lemon seeded and chopped finely (skins and all except seeds) and sugar/honey to taste. Blend all of that into a high quality blender until it's pureed. Add ice to taste also. It is one of the most refreshing summer drinks, and soon you will not have enough mint, even if you doubled your mint harvest.
As far as premier's go, we will make time, lol! I'm pretty much on the farm all the time and have my earbuds in with something YouTube a lot of that time!

That is not a Crepe Myrtle in the strawberries. I have seen it, but am not coming up with the name right now. Sorry. I’d suggest getting it out for sure. It’s invasive after all. Right?

I’m so happy to see you again friend. You don’t know me, but I still consider you a good friend. I just got done planting my tomatoes here in zone 6b Michigan. It has been raining so much it was hard to get out there. My husband put in 2 new beds for me and I think I over planted them but oh well 😊

It's so great to see you back & your garden looks wonderful! Your bush looks like Privet. It's so invasive and hard to get rid of. Definitely don't let it flower or you'll be pulling up privet everywhere. Ask me how I know…ugh?!? lol
I'm jealous of your beats! Mine are refusing to bulb up. I don't know what to do with them. They've been fed plenty of bone meal.

Your volunteer tree/bush looks like privet, I have them and will never be able to get rid of them, every single berry will sprout and grow! The birds love them but they are a pain. Maybe down by the lake would be nice? 🤷🏻♀️

Hi Jess! Welcome back. What an enjoyable garden tour. Lots to see, in transition or not. I had to learn that a garden is always in transition. Always in progress. Sometimes more, sometimes less. And thank goodness, right? That way there’s a little past of what was, mostly winter brassicas, present of what we’re enjoying at this moment, onions, potatoes, ground cherries, strawberries, artichokes, roses, hollyhocks and dahlias and the future of what’s to come, lets say tomatoes, beans, okra, peas, peppers, pumpkins, squash, cucumbers, eggplant, banana trees, more strawberries and the privacy screen. I love mine too. And the prayers and hopes of what we’ll try again. R.I.P. to all your citrus that bit the dust in the freeze. I had to laugh at all the mint. It does look charming with the Creeping Jenny in the cottage garden though. And the Crepe Myrtle story made me laugh out loud. So glad you took the time off for the truly important things in life, health and family.🙏🏼You continue to inspire and motivate me. Thank you, Jess.

I grew a lot in NH but here in SC forget it. I did try!

I thought Jess had a Freeze Dryer. If she did she could slice and dry for scalloped potatoes and things like that. Boil and mash before drying for instant mashed potatoes and thickener for stews and soups etc. Dice and dry for soups, stews, pot pies, casseroles etc. And even hash browns and breakfast meals with shredded potatoes can be dried in that shape. Spend a day dedicated to all of the prep work and lay the different shapes in spare Freeze Dryer pans or covered pieces of cardboard so the potatoes can remain flat. Stack them up in the freezer and every time one round finishes the next load is already frozen and ready to go into the Freeze Dryer. With all that is going on and kids going in many directions, having fast meals that are still homegrown and fresh is so helpful. If stored in mylar bags they can be stored anywhere and last for 25 years, so nothing is wasted. Quick movers can go in a gallon jar with oxygen absorbers and still last months on a pantry shelf or cabinet. Harvest Right needs to send her one for all of their food abundance. Eggs, milk, garden produce and even meat.
