  1. That tornado was just a little too close and so glad you only lost a few plants and some soil in the process. I wonder if that green bug glows in the dark – never seen one like that before. We have had lots of rain and cloudy days in VA too and potatoes are all bent over as it is just too much. Hope your tomatoes and other crops recover and we finally get some sunny days. Would love to go the the conference in Idaho but I hope you have an awesome time there and seeing your son. Have a blessed week..

  2. Have you thought of putting up a hoop house for growing? It would be ideal for you.. and you can use as you get older without all the craziness.. I watch Danny and Wanda from deep south homestead and they are really enjoying it.. they also have a new channel called pecan grove… it would be so much easier for you.. blessings!🌸

  3. Are you glad you moved to Tennessee?
I'm looking east Tennessee..I live in Washington State so I'm used to the rain

  4. Hello m'homesteader honey. (psst, storm was a mega tornado!) They're stronger & longer. Massive destruction. Prayers all around for all. My family story, would cause you to seek a professional mental health care giver. To close, cry as you wish, laugh as you wish, sing as you wish. Till our next visit, as you wish.💜☯️☮️⚖️🌎🇺🇲

  5. That green bug is a beautiful color…green is my favorite color. You weathered the storm with God's mercy and grace; praise God! We need some of y'alls rain here in San Antone…my garden is thirsty. Blessings to you Kaye; you and your sister's granddaughter are so pretty in that picture.❤🤠🐱❤

  6. ewww… i hate bugs . lol… my daughter has loved bugs since she was very little. she even goes to bug shows.. we found a very tiny baby praying mantis on our apple tree and she had to hold it 🐞🦋🐛🐝

  7. Thankfully you are okay, your garden can be repaired.
Your Granddaughter has the same facial features of yourself, Congratulations on her Graduating High School🎉

  8. Oh, my, Kaye, you certainly have been through a rough spring. I am sitting here watching you while snapping beans from my garden. I am going to attempt to can for the very first time, tomorrow. Watching all the videos, including yours on how to pressure can that I can get my hands on. My Texas garden is giving me all the bountiful goodness that it can possibly give. This is our rainy season, and we have had a lot of it, but soon, very soon, the tap will shut off and things will dry up and the garden will be no more until the fall. In Texas, we have two growing seasons of about 90 days each within our long growing season, with a 60 to 90 day break in between, where it is far too hot and too miserable to garden. By the end ofJuly we are begging for rain. Every geographical area has its challenges.

  9. Kaye, glad you and your homestead are ok! Guess who stopped mowing a small section of her yard to protect a baby bunny and found wild lettuce!?!? Yes me!

  10. Glad you are safe. I prayed for you and all affected in TN and all the other places hit by the violent weather. Glad you are getting a lot done and are feeling very positive! My garden is doing fine and the damaged grape is filling out and has bunches of grapes forming so all good.

  11. Heyyy, that 75mph wind was the same wind speed that tore off and blew away our front screen door back when I was a teen! It was funny as a teen, not so as an adult.. my father was so angry that we weren’t more careful! Glad you’re still with us Kaye! ✌🏻

  12. I wished I could come! I would love to meet you Kaye. I won’t leave my garden this time of year so that’s a bummer for me! Have fun❤❤❤ And I live about 2 1/2 hours from Couer D Alene!

  13. Hey, Kaye!
Most of my plants are in the garden now, as well. I guess it's just about time for me to do the first garden video of the season. As for Okra….what are the Cottage Food Laws like in Tennessee? Would you be able to sell pickled okra? It's one of my favorite preparations, and they're great in Blood Mary's, Blood Marias, et cetera.

  14. Wow, I’m glad I didn’t slip forward in time.. going fast enough already! ha ha! Middle of June scared me lol As always thank you for sharing! Beautiful picture of you and your niece

  15. Looks like a emerald ash borer green ash borer and if it is all your ash trees are dead eventually as mine were.

  16. We have been conditioned to believe that the stupid LED lights are equivalent to the true grow lights that should be used. LED lights are useless.

  17. Kaye, that bug is a 6 spotted tiger beetle. They are natural pest control, as they eat other insects, however, they do bite, and it does hurt, so be careful! They are so cool looking!
It stinks the rain caused so much havoc on your garden. Praying for you and your plants! You have plenty of time! I am in zone 5a/b (we are right on the line) so we cant even put anything in the ground yet, its not advised until after Memorial Day. Waiting impatiently haha!
