Container gardening is a fantastic solution to grow lots of fruits & vegetables even if you do not have a garden. You can transform a balcony, a terrace or a patio into a green jungle full of biodiversity.
To obtain bountiful harvests, you need to think about a pot as a little ecosystem, it should be rich in organic nutrients, drain out water to avoid root rot but also retain enough moisture to save precious water.
Follow these easy steps to have healthy plants & great harvests from your pots & containers. This method works for all vegetables such as tomatoes, eggplants/aubergines, courgettes/zucchinis, cucumbers, peppers and many others!
Happy Growing & Green Love to you!

I’ve been growing my own food since five years on my balcony in Berlin you don’t need a garden to grow your food you can grow a lot of food fully in pots and containers and transform a balcony a Terrass or passio into a green jungle full of biodiversity and actually growing in pots and containers is way easier than you think to be successful in container gardening here are some few principles so think about this spot as a little ecosystem you have basically to drain out water but at the same time retain in moisture and most importantly to get a lot of natural nutrients constantly in spot to Fe the plants so follow steps to have bountiful harvest firstly let’s make sure that there is a drainage at the bottom of the container let’s first add clay BS at the first bottom layer these clay BS will create a buffer between the soil and the bottom of your pot it will create a pocket of air allowing your soil to bre and also to drain more water out of the pot so that the roots of your plants do not second layer should be healthy and fresh comp this comp is containing a lot of organic nutrients which will slowly release into your soil and then to your plant let’s now add a little bit of poting soil mixed with vermiculite you can use a bucket to actually mix your poting soil and the vermiculite a poting soil should be extremely light in structure it will really allow your baby ceilings to develop deep roots right from the start and gently mixed with vermiculites this will really allow the soil to retain a lot of water when ready put this mixture on top of your compost and let’s now add some C manure to fertilize the soil C manure is a natural fertilizer and also slow release just sprinkle it on top of the soil so it will get regular nutrients on the long term for your plant and now let water deep thet so that the so is kind of so with so in this container we added vermicul which will help a lot for water retention there is also compost it will retain a lot of water and we’re going to add as the final top layer some mulch here I’m using and will be placed over the pot to avoid water evaporation for mulching you can use straw you can also use wood chips or grass clippings just think about local resources you can reuse and now let’s water again so that Thera or the mulch really sticks on the so before plting I always place theing into water so that I can slowly decact theot and now our container is ready to welcome our new vegetable plant here I’m actually growing zucini just make a little hole to PL your ceing when planted put back the MCH it let’s wish a good to this little zucini and wish US gen great harest and for you to make so you Canly exactly the technique PL cucumb eg PL aubergine zucini you can really grow with technique and of course can grow tomato with exactly the technique contain balon gre love

What are your thoughts on the material used for the container? I live in a city and the most affordable place for me to buy containers is from ikea. I have some clay pots but thinking about getting some balcony boxes too, though Iβve noticed that a lot of them are made of plastic and have no holes at the bottom for drainage. Are these still okay?
nice video π I find the new sound effects for the pop ups in the bottoms a bit annoying tho
Inspiring! β€

Another great video, do you use multi sow methods at all in your container gardens ? , and as a side note, many years ago when i still lived in the uk so thats over 20 years ago, there was a TV show called eurotrash , it was hosted by Jean Paul Gaultier and Antoine de Caune, you sound exactly like Antoine, or maybe my brain is getting to old π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£
More subtitles please to compensate for your accent
Thank you! Love your content
Is it okay to use perlite instead of vermiculite?
Those little popups are so cute π
Great video! Wherew did you purchase the elevated plastic garden beds shown in 0:26 please?
How do you tell when to water the plants since you have the straw mulch on top? Thank you very much!
Fabulous!! And, thank you for such a simple explanation. Appreciated
I have seen many of your clips, they're fantastic. Thanks for sharing your experience. Someone like you needs to move to Australia (e.g. Sydney, Perth or Brisbane) where the weather is nice all year round and you can have much more space with a big backyard for gardening. Australia is a country of gardeners.
Thank you easy ways preparing pot plants β€
I adore you and your adorable accent! Much love from South Carolina US! Thank you
Lots of plants.. what do you do with plants after season. I have heard about over wintering but dont really understand. How do you make space for all plants indoors and lighting and water requirement when u move indoors
Can I use peat moss as a mulch? I bought a huge bag of peat moss and can't remember why…π
I just subscribed to your channel!!! Ty! Very helpful!
