My first graft. I bought a grafting tool from Amazon. I was hoping for a perfect tongue and groove, but this was slightly less than perfect, and came with no instructions. It’s probably junk from China. The first graft is an LSU Purple fig grafted to an LSU gold fig rootstock. I bought the plant today. This plant is vigorous, but I hope that I am not putting it under to much stress, by grafting the same day that I repotted it.
I was much surprised to find out that the grafting tape doesn’t have any glue on it. It is basically just plastic wrap. I don’t know what the reason for this is. I put a few wraps of vinyl electrical tape on top of it.

Grafting tape is like that, you’re meant to wrap it tightly a few times and just squeeze the ends down to hold it on from my understanding
