I decided to do a little bit more shopping today we need to get as much together as we can so we can create a really nice Caravan container garden and I’ll show you a couple of bits that I did pick up today if you remember yesterday we got those plant pots the ones that ook over at balcony which everybody liked and then today I saw these in Aldi and the same nice size troughs that we can hang on that back end of that balcony so we can put a few extra plants in something that size got to get them and it were expensive I think it was $4.99 or something like that then I got a box of this Miracle Grow it’s water soluable as well so it’s in a bag but it does last a long time cuz you only need a little bit so that worth getting and again I think that was $4.99 I’ve got ducks behind me we’ been getting them a bit of bread you can see them just there against that tree they seem quite happy and they just want a bit of bread I’m not opposed to having a bit of an audience but now I’m going to show you something else I bought which I think is going to be really useful and that’s this the Cold Frame quite a good size one and I also got that from Ali it was $49.99 but it’s a good size one and I think that’s going to be perfect to bring us plants on but I’m going to have to fix it down somehow cuz I don’t want it blowing over and breaking but I just think that that is going to be really useful so a couple more additions to this Caravan container garden but I have also got something else that I’ve bought online and it should be here in a couple of days I’ll just pop a picture of that on screen so you can have a look cuz they’re going to be going at the front of this Caravan two tier Planters they’re going to be really useful those they’re about 4 foot wide each and the depth of each planter is 17 in so we could grow carrots parsnips and all sorts in there and we could put two side by side across FR here and I think that is going to make it look brilliant once we got all the plants growing so a couple more additions to this container garden and I’ve also done something else it’s a two-bedroom Caravan but we only want one bedroom and the other was a small bedroom with two single beds in it which I’ve took out so we can turn that into a dressing room but I thought of a use for those bed bases and I’ll show you what I’m doing with them at the moment until we get something better so they’re the bed frames and they’ve got lots of holes in them so water can just pass through and not build up on bottoms of these plants and it’s also raising them slightly off at Ground which is really good so we’ve got a few plants on there at the moment and we’re going to start and pop these on cuz they’re getting a bit too big I don’t want these new plants getting root bound but if we leave them too long they definitely well I’m just going to have a quick check on one while I’m here that one is okay roots are just about at bottom now but they’re not wrapping around so they’ll be fine but the other ones I suspect have been in them containers for quite a while so we’re going to move those on and this plant is that pepper that we topped and I said if we top it it’ll develop more side growth and not grow as tall as quick so look how that one’s come on there it’s got lots and lots of shoots that have come out now which are going to become branches flower and then produce peppers and they’re going to produce maybe smaller Peppers but more of them so we’ll carry on with that one and this is a job maybe for tomorrow I’m going to plant this into a 2 L Pot and eventually we’re going to put them in 10 lit pots and leave it at that but we’ve also got these tomato plants that we just bought this is an Alicante and The Roots starting to build up a bit on that ball so we’re definitely going to get those moved on over the next couple of days and thankfully that wind is now starting to die down and we’ve had a really hot sunny day just over 60 so that’s been brilliant so we thought we’d take a ride out pick up some extra things and get as much growing around this Caravan as we possibly can so we’ve collected a few more bits on bobs today and this still going to be quite a bit bit more to come in a couple of days we’ll have those big double teer Planters and we’ll get them put together straight away and fill them up with compost and star and get some plants in we’re also going to putt on virtually everything that’s outside just to get it to grow a little bit quicker and offer it a little boost to feed so just another quick update on what we’re doing and I think the the time we’re finished we’re going to be seeing quite a lot of produce coming from this Caravan container garden and thank you so much once again to us latest donators I’ll pop your names on at end of this video thank you so much for your generosity between us we’re creating something that’s going to look amazing and provide us with lots of fresh homegrown fruit and veg if you want to see what else we’re going to be doing over the next few weeks please hit that subscribe button press that notifications Bell and I’ll see you on next update you all Take Care thank you

  1. It's going to be fab 👍… can I ask where you purchased the 2 tier planters from ?… thanks in advance 😊

  2. Ivan you are amazing, I love it , my husband and I are really going to enjoy your caravan container gardening, thank you.

  3. I had one of those cold frames that I got from Aldi. They tend to rot quite quickly so my 2nd one was treated, pre-assembly, with linseed oil & it's made such a difference.

  4. I thought you were going to say you've turned the second bedroom into a propagating room lol. I might look in our aldi for that cold frame been looking for one of those. All the best Andrew

  5. Wow Ivan, l didnt expect to see any video's for a while due to yr move, very impressed getting straight down to work on the container garden plans. You have got some real bargains there., cant wait to see it all set up, its going to look great. It all looks so cozy there . When we moved to our smaller property the first thing we did was set up a outside security sensor light as our neighbour told us that because our small garden backed onto horse stables/field which had access to an open lane, it was easy for trespassers. She had someone at night go into her garden & greenhousea few times, They didnt steal anything but things were moved and greenhouse door left open etc. . Might be worth you thinking about a light sensor for security for your container garden. Also just an idea, have you thought about getting in touch with a garden mag to ask if they would be interested in doing a feature on your caravan container garden, say a before and after set up.Editors are always looking for garden ideas and it might bring in some revenue./ exposure for your channel. They can only say yes or no. Iv seen other youtubers featured in garden magazines, so might be worth thinking about.

  6. I'd be really interested to see if your new neighbours get inspired by your planting in containers. It certainly inspired me and I've had some brilliant results from watching your channel. Looking forward to all your new videos!

  7. Please, please, please don't feed bread to birds. They can't digest it and it just becomes a ball of goo in their stomachs.

  8. Discovered yesterday tha montsato, the GM crop supplier owns miracle grow lost faith and gave the last two bags compost away

  9. Those rail planters look great for smallish stubby carrot varieties – deeper at either side and hanging up too high for carrot root fly.

  10. Be great when it's all done & everything is planted Ivan, I've only got a small area so that's why I container garden. Looks nice & quiet there where you are. Looks like a trip to Aldi lol, you can't half drop on there & Lidl for gardening stuff can't ya…

  11. Very much admire your resilience. Have a feeling that you’re going to have the greenest caravan around 😊

  12. It’s going to look great, may I suggest to make a little more room on your veranda you change the gate on it to open outwards instead of inwards, then it will not interfere with you plant pots, every time you open it.

  13. I’m so pleased for you. I admire your resilience in coping with the situation you were forced into. I’ve learnt a lot from you over the past year or two but only recently subscribed.
I also saw the planters in Aldi today and thought of your balcony! Wishing you the very best.

  14. I'm having to consider containers and starting now sounds about good. Hmm your getting some good bargains Aldi cold frame is amazing. Thanks for the tips

  15. I've just discovered your channel. Do you live in the caravan? I'm sure someone can answer that question for me.
Also you can buy seed for the ducks i used to they love it. I don't think bread is good for them. Now i shall pop to aldi see if they have those containers.

  16. I want some of those balcony containers but i havent seen them here, also the planter box is magnificent, id like that too. I have a lot of veg garden space but you can never have enough.

  17. Loving the new container garden Ivan. (Are there anymore caravans for sale by you). Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to seeing your next installment.

  18. I found an alternative to composting outside as my landlord wont allow. We have invested in a WormBox purchased in May last year which you can keep indoors. I have had only one issue so far fruit flies! argh! Wish I had bought those hemp mats to put in now. Worms are breeding well and making lots of babies which means more compost to created.

Wondering if in the future you will make a discord server, for the subscriber base, providing shared ideas suggestions and help from your followers for followers. I love your subscriber community.

  19. Hi Ivan, found your channel a week ago and I’m hooked after inheriting a greenhouse, just wanted to say keep your chin up, onwards and upwards, I’ve made a small donation should get you a couple of bags of compost or some more pots, by far my favourite gardening channel

  20. It's gonna look good. Might be worth painting or applying some other weather-proofing to the bed bases. Rain will soon degrade the surface with the holes .

    👍🙂
