I’d love to share with you my 2024 Spring Container and Raised Bed Tour. I am growing about just as many flowers as I am vegetables this year. I have two new raised beds for this year and they are already planted and germinating. Do you like to garden too? Let me know!

hey everyone it’s Susan here welcome to my channel I wanted to share with you my Spring Garden um I have some stuff growing um a lot is germinating right now and a lot I’m planting so um everything I have here is from seed uh some is some of it is from seed that I saved from last year’s Garden so that’s like super exciting not to have to pay for seeds um some stuff is stuff I haven’t grown before um a lot of well not a lot a few different um flowers from last year uh yeah so let me take you around I’m going to turn you around and I’ll give you a view from where I’m sitting I’m sitting next to my garage and um yeah so I’m going to turn you around all right so from sitting um near my garage so you can tell well this is all driveway right here and I’m actually sitting on the driveway um but so this is how it looks right now I have five more Planters I need to plant uh I should say grow bags that I have to plant um so that’ll happen probably next week and that’s all flowers and herbs um so I’m almost done planting so I’m going to take you over here now I have two new raised beds this year and both of those are Brandy new and yeah it’s my first time using both of them they’re about 3T by almost 6 feet and I have everything in them from flowers to Tomatoes two Peppers um onions uh I don’t know I feel like there’s other stuff this bed right here I planted probably mid April so two 2 and 1 half maybe 3 weeks ago so there’s several things sprouting now or germinating now um in this bed this bed over here I just planted yesterday or the day before yesterday so there’s nothing there if you see green in there it’s only from uh from weed whacking my son just did the lawn so that’s what’s in there it’s just grass um so yeah so I have a lot growing in these beds oh and sunflowers yeah yeah I also have sunflowers in these three pots I have two different kinds of sunflowers in each one so I have six sunflowers and there is another kind of sunflower and I have another type of sunflower um yeah so I’m going to have eight different kinds of sunflowers and over here I have this here is mini Mar Golds and I got the mini Mar Golds from Julie Rose as well as one of she sent me a pack of um like a rosecolor sunflower so yep yep yep yep so they’re they’re planted yay um over here is a dwarf Cosmo in white and California poppy here those were just planted two days ago 3 days ago so there’s nothing growing yet in there these three pots back here are all different uh basil and they were planted just a you know a week ago so nothing’s germinating there yet and I do just keep you’ll notice I keep a um a container in different areas in my garden so like if there’s something I have to throw in there I don’t have to walk a long distance to throw it away there’s a rock in there too I just didn’t want it to blow away and then these over here so these two Planters I did repaint last year and they looked really nice but as you can see the white is just peeling off so I’m giving into to them and I’m just going to let them peel so they don’t look so nice but they work really really really well this is Kula and this is Dalia um I used those same two beds for the colula and the Dalia last year but this year I’m growing the flowers from my seeds that I saved from last year so that’s kind of fun in fact all of the sunflowers except for the ones that Julie Rose sent to me um are all seeds from last year yeah so pretty fun okay so now when I go over here so I have two more beds now you can see we’re in the process of putting this plastic landscape fabric down so right now it looks like really really really messy the old landscape fabric that I had down was more of a cloth and the squirrels literally came like all winter and took pieces of it I’m finding it everywhere in my yard and I’m sure that they have it in their nests somewhere but they totally destroyed it so look at this this right here is all garlic that was planted probably the end of October and come late June early July I’ll be able to harvest those but gosh they are so so healthy looking like look at the let me get close so like look at look at the size of that stem it’s huge right I mean they’re gorgeous absolutely gorgeous um and they yeah they make it through the snow and all that good stuff so this right here that you see popping up this is loose leaf lettuce so that’s all just popping up I did plant beef steak tomatoes here I’ll be taking them out I only want to leave one but you can see see those two little things those are both beef uh beef steak tomatoes that are popping up so I’ll take them out I only want one in there and then I’ll see you know if there’s anybody in town that wants the other ones this is a new purchase I’m so excited this is a raspberry bush yep I was going to plant it in the ground and then the more I thought about it the more I thought about it I’m like you know what I’m going to put it in a pot and then at some point um you know I can always cut that and repot it at some point but it’s very happy in here it has flowers there’s multiple flowers on this thing yeah so I’m going to have and there’s even little raspberries on there yeah so we’ll see this is a tomato don’t remember what kind in here this bed is doing really well these are green beans string beans see see all those see I can grow a string bean there are some things I can’t grow like radishes but I can grow a string bean um over here this section you can see I have everything marked off I use like even like these um popsicle sticks just so I know that like this half over here is all green beans this this quarter down here is Roma lettuce this quarter up here are carrots now the carrots aren’t germinating yet but I’m just saying see right there that little green that’s the beginning of um some romae lettuce yes yes and that’s my little guy he’s here to help keep the birds away because they started coming I saw them in the morning and they’re like pecking from like my they’re pecking to get the seeds out of the ground yeah okay so over here and I will probably move these things like this plastic landscape is going to go all the way up against the house so I’ll have plenty of room to put you know like these these pots here up there but these two big ones are both carrots two different kinds uh nothing germinating yet in those this right here is chiv so that green that you see is from last year I put more chive seeds in there which aren’t germinating yet but all of that is from last year I did nothing to get that these are uh this is cilantro I tried growing cilantro last year cilantro cilantro yeah yep cilantro and I couldn’t grow it but this year I am now get a load of this this is my Marsh mow flower plant that sat in my back shed for 7 months in the dark with absolutely not one drop of water and it grew so the majority of what you see right here grew all by itself in my shed I didn’t know it was a perennial I didn’t know that the same with the Chive so like I’m learning as I’m going along but this thing survived and grew in the dark without water amazing to me um okay so all of these are all different well there are five different kinds of peas in these grow bags I put three seeds in each pot and I planted them at different times so some are germinating you can see and some haven’t started germinating yet so yep y but they’ll they’ll be fine they’ll all be fine so those are all peas so if they all grew I would have 30 different pea plants but they won’t all grow most of them will a couple days ago I planted these are all Tomatoes they’re all different kinds I have this is the small red cherry that is a new one I didn’t plant that last year this is the super sweet 100s this is Chef’s Choice black these are my my favorite Tomatoes they are the most tasty things it’s unbelievable so I’m trying to plant extra plants of those this year cuz it was so good last year and this one is I’m trying to read it sun gold tomatoes so those are four of my tomato plants and then I have like I said I have have I’ll show you one more time oh I forgot this bed up here oh and this these so I have parsley that’s growing from last year I did not plant that I have these flowers growing from last year I have no idea what they are I must have planted them last year and they never grew I don’t know what they are but I have like uh dianthus growing over here germinating I have have I’m trying to read my my little sign here V vum growing here there’s a couple oh Noam that’s what they are I can tell by the by the uh by the shape of the leave this little guy needs to get off of my myum look at that um so yeah so there is that as well but as far as tomatoes so like I said I have beef beef steak growing in here and I see at least two coming up I will pull all but one out of there and either give them away or repot them um in here I have um Sun gold Tomatoes I have two of them let me see if I can two of them germinating here so one of those will come out and then down here at the end of this same bed I have the black uh the ones that I said were the best ever the best flavor I put some here but I don’t see them germinating yet and then in here I have some Tiny Tim a couple Tiny Tim tomato plants so lots of tomatoes lots of tomatoes so then that is it that’s where I’m at and I do like to just sit here and enjoy right that right now it is like 6 o’ at night it is beautiful out there’s a breeze and it’s warm I have no no jacket or anything on and I just sit out here cuz this is a lot lot of work this is a lot of work so if you like to grow plants and flowers let me know in the comments below and let me know what you think of my 2024 Garden so that’s it all right thanks for being here God bless bye-bye

  1. You are a very talented farmer!! Everything looks great!! So nice to see your garden again this year. Hugs ❤

  2. Wow Sue! Fabulous garden, love the garlic coming up so healthy. Beautiful. I’m surprised yiu could plant the seeds in mid April. We were still getting very cold weather up here then. And that perennial left in the shed, that’s really something . You certainly have a very green thumb, you go girl!

  3. Terrific job Susan. I know how much work that is. My mint, parsley and chives also overwintered outside. Like you, I just added more seeds to their pots this year. I've always been able to grow cilantro, however, not keep it living for long once it's grown up. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Have fun checking for new "babies" every day like I do! 🩷🩷🩷

  4. YAY–I am happy that you have planted the seeds; hope they will grow well for you!!🤩 I haven't planted my marigolds as yet–I feel that our sea breezes are still really cold for my flower seeds…Usually around mid May – Mem day is when we plant here…So excited to see all your great beds…and pots…Hugs, Julierose🥰
