Maybe you should have Paul paint your hose links to look like flowers so they blend in with the landscape. Or even a green color to look like an evergreen
WOW! I'm exhausted after all this work we did today!!! HAAA!!! This was a fun video to watch.
Every time I see a tree planting video from you guys (one of my favorites types of videos you do) I think of all those negative comments you received yrs ago when you had to take some old, dying trees out. If those ppl could see you now! The amount of trees you've put on your property is so commendable!!
My neighbours have choke cherries all along their fence and they sucker really bad under the fence and almost 10' into our grass. I had the idea of digging a trench and putting 10" metal edging along the fence. I'm wondering if that will stop it. The roots that I did pull up only looked to be 4-5" deep
๐Sumac, sorry but, we all told you so. If you aren't planning to burn that brush pile, those sumac might re-root. Fairly hard to kill those. Ask me how I know this!
Do yourself a favor & take out all of the sumac trees. They are trash trees.
I love it. Itโs getting to be so park-like already
The Weeping Alaskan Cedars are just glorious! So satisfying watching the big auger in action, especially as he was reversing it to sling the dirt off.
I was wondering how many drip lines youโd catch! I do love watching that huge auger work. Oddly satisfying. Since you got the new equipment, have you had neighbours ask if you could dig holes for them to plant trees or other, or pick up stuff? I expect all those new houses owners are getting inspired and would love to beautify their environment too.
The bobcat sure does make it a lot easier on all of you. Everything planted today looks beautiful. !
Hi, love the video as always, I have a question on tree positioning.
If you have an obvious back to a tree but the tree will be viewed from all sides what do you prioritise;
is it the view from the house or seating area where you will see it most,
the view from the lane or as people drive past it,
Can you face the back to the sun to try and bring it on (can they be an all-round tree, if they have grown so long with a back)?
Iโd just like to understand the hows and whys of decisions as your garden looks so beautiful.
Two men and their toys!
Great videos of using it all.
Wish I had more room to plant large trees. But love learning about whats available. My seven sonโs tree is growing so fast.
Thanks Garden Answer for all you do!
I feel like Aaron wakes up every morning and asks, with a smile, "What can I plant with the auger today???" That is really a great piece of equipment. Glad you finally found The One!
Love, love , love evergreens. So beautiful.๐
Is bad that i dont want your videos to end! I cant wait to see them and see what beautiful things you working on! Also those rolls looked wonderful! You make the best of everyday!โค wishing you joy ๐
In my experience, birch love a lot of water. Watching all your videos since the beginning. Thank you for all your hard work.
It always seems as if the soil is bone dry a mere 8" or so under the surface, no matter where you're digging or what time of year!
Knowing the Bobcat is saving time and energy. Now try the Ventrac flex frame for mowing, tilling and more. Mowing time will be cut by 3/4.
Wow! I have to say, I absolutely LOVE those pines. Especially the Oregon Green Austrian Pine. That green just looks so elegant! Question about All That Drip tubing pulled out, lol. Do you reuse any of it? Thereโs just so much of it!
The only difference between men and boys is the size of their toys lol. Have you considered planting the sumacs in containers?
Plant some lilacs in the area youโre planning to have the horses. Mine love to nibble on them, they are safe snacks for them too.
As a farmer / ranchers wife I know all about tractor language and that I do not speak it well ! ๐
Hello Laura! Love the evergreens and locations, beautiful!! At 19:47 I noticed a big leader limb on the deciduous to the leftโฆwould you typically leave this alone and hope the others catch up?
First and most importantly I received my kneeling pad. Love it definitely didnโt disappoint!! Also thank you for taking us on your journey with your gardening.
Iโm so glad you are transparent about the sumacs! They are so beautiful but not for all spaces. I have black lace elderberry that Iโm worried about spreading through suckers. Do you think if Iโm mowing around the base of each one that it will prevent them from spreading to much?
We need a one-o-one interview of Paul. Maybe by Aaron?
Everything is filling in nicely. Textures, colors, bulk, seasonal…….coming together.
Love Evergreens ๐๐ผ๐๐
Raise your hand if you want a Bobcat with a auger that size ๐๐๐๐
It looks like that austrian pine is giving you the finger repeatedly. Lol.
Looks great. Are you able to plant olive trees in your area? And are they evergreen? Would make a great color and shape in your garden.
Looking and filling in nicely the trees and shrubs!!!
Releasing that burlap off is like taking your bra off after a long day! Lol๐๐๐
Have you ever considered putting in brick edging amongst the formal flower garden? What about using a larger brick for extra height to hold in a thicker layer of mulch? Vertically placing the larger bricks for an even higher height? And what about integrating quite a lot more large boulders among your various beds to bring continuity from the pond area to the rest of the section? It would help to create more of a natural wild life area which could include tortoises and other native animal dwellers? Experiment? Have you been kite flying with the children during spring yet? Front lawn is perfect!
The new trees are just gorgeous. You definitely have an eye for placement. So sad about the birch. I remember seeing it last year and wondering about its health. I may have even commented on it. You're making me hungry with your rolls. Thanks everyone for a great video.
I can imagine the smile on Aaron's face digging those holes with the auger. I am jealous, my soil is full of rocks. That auger might handle it, but Laura's small one for the hand drill is out of the question for me.
On the first tree planting, I heard the Bobcat make a noise that sounded like โYaaaay!โ Perfection!
Is it possible to prevent lilacs from growing suckers? I love the plants but itโs a never ending battle to keep them looking neat.
Paul speaks 'Tractor'!! ๐
It is so satisfying watching the holes being dug so easily and efficiently.
Iโll say this, Augers are worth their weight in gold. So amazing to me how quick and easy they make gardening ๐งโ๐พ. The trees are so beautiful and that fluffy soil makes me jealous since I work with clay soil here. Happy Gardening everyone!
21:29 a red-tipped Photinia would be great there!!! Evergreen, fluffy soft full texture, shapeable to fit the space, add a touch of โtidyโ to the area. Loves our alkaline soil. Fast grower.
At 23:13 , throwing sumac in your brush pile, it may route itself, just saying.
I could watch you guys plant trees all day
cool, Laura, keep those wire bottoms, and do something creative with those with Benjamin and Samantha………that would be fun for them to think about repurposing…..YES and give Benjamin and Samantha those Blackberry branches…..Benjamin can create his fence he talks about……….let them create Laura………….
Fascinating watching all of you plant those huge trees. What a great way to do that. I will understand how it warms your heart and makes you feel happier when you plant for me. Itโs a good thing for the environment and a better thing for all of you during your cold bleak winters.
Gorgeous trees! Great day for Aaron. ๐ How do you keep the birds from nesting in your Hoselinks?
