I wanted to share that it’s okay to buy plants for your garden. Not everything needs to be grown from seeds. Especially if you are short on time, buying a plant is whole lot easier than starting from zero. In this video I’ll share with you some of the plants I purchased from my local farmer supply and the reason why. Make sure to hit that like button and don;’t forget to subscribe to channel. Thank you for watching!

hey what is going on thank you for
tuning in Tim here and I wanted to share
with you some plants that I was able to
pick up at my local farmer Supply and
just give you a little background why I
went with some of these plant choices as
you know I have a big Garden space and
most of what I do I grow from seeds but
there are exceptions to that and these
plants here happen to be that exception
to that rule and if you haven’t already
if you are getting into gardening or
you’re just looking for a a variety of
other plants I highly recommend checking
your local farmer Supply to see what
they have available a lot of is sourced
locally um but you find a lot more
variety than you typically would at like
your bigger box stores where you’ll find
plants as well but hey it’s your garden
do what you want to do it’s just uh uh
something to take in consideration if
you are looking for a variety and
something you know that is locally sourc
last year I want to say probably fall I
had a bunch of celery and rather than
just starting from Seas
I ended up going with getting a bunch of
celery plants and if you’re not familiar
how it grows this is how the stocks are
formed but I bought these six packs here
where I’m going to have one bed
completely dedicated to celery because I
use it a lot when I’m juicing and again
it’s very healthy for you another pickup
I have are some herbs here lavender
here again this is something that I
tried growing from seeds didn’t have any
success so when all us
fails get a
plant same thing for my parsley here so
this here is the giant what is this
giant of Italy I started a bunch of
parsley
seeds twice actually and they did not
grow rather than just you know getting a
late start this is what I got some
plants and I bought two of these here I
have is oregano
and again these seeds are very tiny and
I this is another herb that I try
growing from seeds that did not have any
success so why make it hard for yourself
when you can get a plant that’s already
grown and will be easy to transplant
into your garden space so I don’t grow
my onions from seeds instead I buy onion
slips or bulbs and it’s just easier to
get them started and again it’s really
inexpensive this is a half a pound of
white onions that cost me $150 and this
will fill up an entire bed a 3×6 race
bed that I have in my garden so
another vegetable that I don’t grow from
seeds are potatoes here I have some red
potatoes that I plan on growing in some
of my grow bags and I just picked up
enough where I can fill up two 30 gallon
grow bags but
these already have eyes sprouted on them
so it makes it easier for planting and
mounting them as they continue to grow
which is you know I’m in zone 8A and
this is the perfect time to start your
potatoes and then finally the last thing
I picked up was this
lemon tree
here and again I wanted a citrus tree I
haven’t had one ever before my garden
and I plan on this in a pot and just
keeping it on the patio or near close to
the house I’m excited about this here
because again I’m trying to have a
little bit more fruit trees in my
backyard uh besides just having
vegetables that I grow I think fruits
are just as important to have as part of
your your garden space so in addition to
the fig trees that I will have I will
now have a lemon tree I hope to have
some additional fruit
trees that I’ll plant in my garden space
as well this here all you know minus I
think I got a couple of I think I picked
up some like compost starter and some
seeds this all cost me about 80 bucks
which is not too bad you know
considering I got two of each plant when
it came to the herbs and I bought a
three pack of it was three packs of
six I bought three six packs of celery
so
again this really will account for
almost two beds in my garden on top of
the the ceilings that I have growing in
my greenhouse and then behind me I have
my grow lights where I have a bunch of
other plants that are or seeds that I’ve
started so I wanted just to share with
you the plants that I didn’t grow from
seeds that it’s going into my garden
space and just let you know that it’s
okay to buy plants you know not
everything you may want to grow from
seeds and honestly depending on where
you’re at and how much time you have
starting from seeds can take a long time
and you know you want to make sure you
are able to harvest and enjoy that
vegetable that you’re trying to have in
your Gardens so it’s definitely
something to take in consideration when
you are starting a garden and just think
about what you’re trying to grow and how
much time you have and what the growing
season looks like before you either
decide to get seeds start from seeds or
you know getting plants and again there
are some plants that I’m never going to
grow from seeds and it’s just easier for
me to buy as plant so again check with
your local farmer Supply I’ve been to
Lowe’s Home Depot and all these stores
are starting to pick up and have more of
their plants uh on hand that you can buy
definitely check them out let me know
what you think if you have any questions
please leave your comments hopefully you
found this video helpful if you did
please hit that like button and don’t
forget to subscribe if you haven’t
already again thanks for watching peace
