Right now is a popular time of year for foraging and there are many good plants that people are after, like Dandelion and Chickweed for example. However there are some great plants to forage you may not be aware of and in this video we briefly talk about 5 plants that you can find right now and use in your diet. These plants are not only delicious but are easy to identify and collect a lot of them in a short time making them, in my opinion some of the best plants too look for. We’ll talk about Spicebush and how it’s young twigs are easy to collect for teas and syrups and jellies. Poor Man’s Pepper or Peppergrass is a commonly found plant in lawns and gardens and surprisingly tastes like black pepper if you collect the seedpods. Cleavers are abundant this time of year and easy to forage the tender young tops to use for steaming or boiling. Other plants can replace our domestic crops, like wild onions or garlics and they are very easy to forage as you can usually find a lot of them in your yard.

🎉 Superawesome 🎉
Never seen a spicebush, need to see about benefits though. Not familiar with wood nettle either, but I have my own little nettle patch and been harvesting already. Cleavers are on my favorite list, should have added some to my chickweed pesto, did add that poor man's pepper though and stinging nettle😊
Good informational video, thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Excellent. Thx Josh!
Trying to remember your suggestions because if things get bad probably won’t have any internet to look at your videos again , I am right next to Millcreek Park in Youngstown pretty sure definitely seen lot of these not knowing their use, thanks

Are wild onions the same as chives? They look a lot alike.
I’ve got lots of Spicebush so will sample a few of them for a cup of tea. How nice to learn that more than the berries may be used! I really enjoy your videos and appreciate your thorough explanations. Thanks.
Thank You Kindly for the Valuable information. 😊

When I was a kid we used to eat the Poor man’s pepper and wild onions out of our yard. They’re pretty good too.

Tks Man ✌️
I've been subscribed to your account for years under my main youtube account. Your channel is one of the ones that encouraged me to finallynmake my own foraging account. Ive been foraging for 20+ years and your channel encouraged mebto expand what I look for. Ive got some general educational videos and one rap song about foraging i made up. Im looking forward to adding videos of myself doing something similar to what you do. Thanks for the knowledge over these years.
Great info!
The "talking hand" is overkill, though
All of my wood nettle spots are flooded right now. Thank you Ohio.
