We’re like 2 minutes late but we’re here we are in fact here we figured it out and I will in fact be right back okay hey hey hey hey hey hey hey hey top that off top that off um happy Friday guys uh hope you all had an awesome week so far

We we went to Target and started seeing all of the spring Trends um which you guys know that’s my favorite place to look for Trends even if you don’t live in an area that has a Target I know Canada you guys have Target in Australia you guys have Target don’t you um but

Our UK folks I know you guys are always like well we don’t have Target here that’s okay a lot of the trends that you see during the Friday being when we do these uh Trend forecasts you’re going to start seeing them too just not at Target I don’t know

Why but Target seems to be the one place that they get all the trends before everybody else it’s like they know what the trends are before everyone else so they publish those Trends um in their target findes and you can learn a lot from just kind of browsing what’s

Trending at Target because those are a lot of the trends that we’re going to see carry through all the way until summer um so today we’re going to explore a bit of those and I’m also going to hopefully if I’ve got a few minutes we

Will also pop into e rank because it is March 1st and I should have checked with Anthony to see if we have our March data in we technically should because we get that in on the 1 of every month um so that will be the data from February so

Every 30 days are data updates um we’ve got some manual stuff that we have to do with it make sure that there’s no dirty words uh showing up in the main Trend report making sure that those get you know Consolidated into the 18 plus Trend

Report so our lovely Jan at e rank is the one who has to look at all of the dirty naughty things that people search for oned Etsy and make sure that they get categorized correctly but anyway Canada doesn’t have Target anymore Oh I thought you guys did that sucks let’s

See oh you’re so cute but it freaks me out when couples wear the same colors and why does it freak you out well we didn’t plan it that way we did not I picked this shirt out she actually ran upstairs and got it for me while I was

Finishing setting up we are in the that is kind of a little weird we’re like a 70s color palette disaster right now no I like this shirt it makes me look good I’ve lost a ton of weight well you you’re Olive great you have olive skin

Longtime viewers of the channel know this already but you want to go into looks like they’ve kind of changed some stuff around go into new and featured yes and then we want to go into Target five signs okay so what we want to focus on is not just

The items because there’s going to be very few items that you’re going to be able to replicate for your handmade pod digital businesses we want to focus on the colors that we see used both in the products and in the backgrounds momy we want to focus on when we’re looking at

Our Target style these are um photos pulled from the target you know Instagram hashtags we want to look at the homes that the people are standing in because these are trendy people buying trendy products so they ideally are going to have trendy homes we want

To look at um some of the textures and materials because a lot of these things will cross over into other areas of you know Trends so we will go ahead and pop open the first one that was posted today so another thing that we want to

Look at is the wording that they use not only do they use good trendy marketing wording that you could totally borrow but they also use some interesting terms that might make good keywords sometimes every once in a while you can find some really great keywords okay so what I

Like about this already is they rather than doing the okay Boomer they did okay Bloomers for their gardening section which I think is super cute follow these easy peasy steps to grow with the flow grow with the flow whether grow with the flow whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned

Plant parent you see this this right here is a keyword plant parent there is a keyword ignore me you’ve got a screwdriver it’s hard to ignore you sorry this thing is so loose that I have to adjust it like every 30 seconds I just wanted to tighten it up a little

Bit that’s okay um so plant parents this is a keyword this is becoming more trendy especially for um Millennials less and less Millennials are choosing to have children so pet parents plant parents um terms like that are things that you might want to use if you create any products focused around plants so

Let’s see so they’re this is actually a really cool way that they’re marketing they are kind of teaching and this is a neat thing that anybody could do um turning your marketing not just into trying to sell but also educating you could make like an Instagram carousel

Um based around your products where your products are a part of a bigger story so Step One Planet they’re talking about planting your garden uh organizing your seeds Okay so we’ve got lots of seed kits um it looks like a little organizer for your seeds this is just telling us that plants in

General are popular and and even if you’re in like pod for example you could make a plant parent t-shirt look at some of the colors too there’s this kind of yellow shade we’re seeing these cream colors this fun green it’s all very cohesive gnomes have been huge for a

While um here’s that sage color that we were talking about during our uh 2024 begin beginning of the year Trends um mushrooms have remained popular for quite a while this this handmade aesthetic too is is very popular and it ideally we would want to you know create these

Products and and explain to our customers through our marketing that buying on Etsy is a lot better than buying at Target because on Etsy the products are hopefully mostly handmade but we have a decent idea here planting mushrooms gnomes it looks like a lot of what this is focused around is

Um Edibles and you know things that you can use for herbs I I saw you know uh mint cilantro so maybe not just flowers but really really focusing on you know a garden where you can actually use the things that you’re making ni it said I like the texture they put on the

Background too if you actually it’s like a concrete texture can I see no it looks like it looks like recycled paper what’s matter the chat says you’re a manager and I have no way to like there we go oh okay being stupid there we go Okay

So we’ve got some you know we got a couple ideas on this one this one was just posted today so these are colors that we probably going to see uh year round and and you’re right I do love this texture it looks like recycled paper um almost like that it looks like

That stucko they put on uh the houses in California on bricks like at schools and stuff sticky white paint all right so this was also posted today um International women’s day is next Friday I believe so little late to get products out there but you could totally do some cool marketing let’s

Look at some of the colors that they’re utilizing um it’s almost like like a soft tone of the Instagram colors we’ve got like the pink the purple and then the um the orangish kind of yellow the lavender has been the color this year when you go into a Target you

Will notice most of their clothes are lavender um I shop at Airy a lot American Eagles you know they’re kind of like athletic and Leisure clothing um and they’re all lavender and bright colors so let’s see I’m trying to get some color consistency this mint kind of color we’re seeing it here

We’re seeing it on the doll I’m seeing a lot of this green as well like if you notice here here here here here let’s see keep going keep going see this this to me it was like in the ’90s like when you had 600 keychains on your

Book bag that’s how this feels um super duper cute and also in the EDM scene we we never talk about that c that’s where we went uh last Friday right after the bean we went to and tomorrow and tomorrow we’re going to another one but um these little bracelets that look

Almost like kids make them super duper popular in the EDM scene because we trade them and you know things like and I know that Taylor Swift has kind of like a similar little thing going with her audience she yeah yeah yeah look even the even the ball is in the same

Color the volleyball is the same color as the background but this purple the last laender especially tortoise shell you know everybody remembers the tortoise shell like glasses that is super duper popular again on like hair clips and things um oh we were just looking at these um Multicultural crayons this was something

When I was in early childhood education every single one of us as you know teachers we got um a pack of Multicultural crayons and a pack of multi cultural markers as well so definitely a lot of like ’90s and like I would say 70s to 90s influences

Um as well with the colors and The Vibes I’m digging it okay let’s buttery yellow the must have color of the Season you’ll totally love so we’ve already talked about like color of the Year this is most you know Target telling us hey this is our color of the Year buttery

Yellow and I’m seeing this color everywhere so um a couple years ago mustard was the color like the color that I’m wearing right now now it’s this almost pastel color of the season so we’re seeing this you know they’re saying this for spring I can almost guarantee that

This is going to be our color for summer too it’ll be a summer color too because it looks really good on tan skin yeah oh yeah exactly in the you see it in the shoes the clothing um you could even if you can’t create products with this color

You could use it as a background color for some of your product photos it’s a nice color no I’m not seeing any green in there Nico she said it’s a greenish yellow I don’t really see green I see more like a muted neon yellow yeah I I would say

That if you were to take yellow and mix them like white into it to make a pastel it does kind of have like a greenish I guess it’s probably going to depend on your monitor too that’s true what your color balance is um these funky candles too I’m noticing these everywhere

Candles and candle holders really fun funky candles and candle holders and fun shapes but very interesting all right let’s see man they making sure my HDR wasn’t turned on we picked the perfect day to do this if we would have done this last week we would have missed out on all of these

These were all posted today yeah um Mabel said monochromatic outfits too yes monochrome has been big since last year yeah so wearing all one color it’s not going anywhere easy to mix and match mhm March um so obviously St Patrick’s Day you don’t really have a lot of time to

Do anything for that um oh look Accord of mist and fury um this color of green though again I saw it all over the place when uh everybody released their 2024 trend reports so for spring and summer I expect this one to maintain a bit um again we’re having a lot of these

Products that have that handmade feel I’m seeing plaid in the background a lot of these and polka dots so lots of different patterns it’s kind of it’s kind of that Cottage core aesthetic but with a bright Spring Touch to it you know whereas Cottage Corp last

Year was like a little darker a lot more Brown and and Earth Tones and I mean these are earthy tones but they’re brighter you know what I mean um we’re seeing a lot more whites and softer colors and it’s all very cozy too like they they’re showing like the book The

Pillow you’ve got your tea your cozy blanket your little candle holder your little NightLight it’s all it’s all cozy stuff giant alligator hair clips I just followed a brand today I can’t remember the name of it but they had every type of hair club you could imagine they had

Little fish bowls they had little naked ladies they had some that looked like little pop cans uh all different animals they had all kinds of stuff so big uh alligator hairclips are really popular seeing a lot of these patterns there’s some some uh vertical stripes Hannah said Ugg Patty day in the leprechauns

Yeah I know little underwear gnomes Underpants SNS yeah now don’t forget April is not when Easter is this year Easter falls in March by April people are already going to be thinking about summer so this is really your only month for spring March is your spring month by

April people are going to be summer planning um that’s different when Easter falls in April but after Easter passes all of the major retailers are going to be focusing on summer so that’s something to remember it’s pretty interesting seeing mushrooms popping up more and more and more and more and

You’re seeing a lot of like amonita mushrooms and things things popping up too MH people are starting to realize that they’re completely legal to consume and there’s a lot of companies that are making like gummy mushrooms and all different kinds of stuff and you’re starting to see it pop up in pop culture

A lot more and it’s starting to reflect everywhere and people are getting more I think connected with nature and you’re starting to see nature be a little bit more mainstream let’s see let’s we’ll we’ll skip the gaming basket because there’s not a whole lot you’re going to be able

To glean from all the copyright material all right so this appears to have been for Valentine’s Day but that’s okay um let’s not take it as a Valentine’s Day thing um this is mug gifts so these are items that fit in a mug this is a really

Cool thing that any Etsy seller could do you could make a whole shop with mug gifts where you do maybe like a mug for Dad and you’ve got you know maybe like beef jerky and peanuts in it or something mug for mom maybe you have I don’t know some little bracelets or something

There’s a lot of cool things that you could do um just keep in mind that anything that you put in the mug needs to be handmade as well or um you can also work with other businesses um other small businesses to fill your mugs so

You can’t do it like a gift basket where you buy everything and put in it unfortunately um but I’m sure that there are some really cool things that if you are you know Super Creative you could find ways to incorporate handmade items into these mugs um look there’s that word again pet

Parents let’s see a superstar mug so they can sip while they Vibe interesting this is kind of cool how they’ve done it so they’re showing the mug and then the items to to go in it or to go with it creative thinkers not notice how the mugs all

Look kind of handmade there’s that buttery yellow breakfast blend for the early risers free Spirits so green tea and a more um subtle kind of feels like Grandpa’s mug you know sitting at the kitchen table um this is cool mug said I think that’s the music you’re supposed to vibe

To while you drink stuff out of the mug yeah actually what’s pretty funny is that Seth Rogan’s uh brand started that he sells all of his like high Vibes things and there’s a ton of companies that are starting to do that like oh and people like might like

Actually might like some coffee Rock while they drink their coffee right let’s see craft coffee so a couple years ago it was all about craft beer making your own beer that’s kind of going out I’m not seeing as much of the uh craft beer but I am I’m seeing a lot of you

Know coffee not just your old coffee maker but poro vers uh French presses Arrow presses um espresso machines um you know a lot of things that a few years ago everybody just used like a curig but now people are starting to realize that there are a lot of

Really cool ways to make coffee and make it taste better which that’s where Mark and I are we we exclusively um you know use things like presses and our espresso machine all right so now we’re into Easter again if you’ve got Easter products you need to get them listed it

Is the 1st of March uh Easter is on the 31st you are out of time get that stuff listed you do not have much time so obviously pastels um pink and and we’re seeing that buttery yellow a lot of this is very you know exactly what you would expect little chickies little bunnies

Little frog doggies um the clothing is a little different though um top little Ruffles little button Downs super cute oh that’s super cute too but it and it looks handmade too so I would love to see an Etsy seller sell something like this and these little little cloth tea

Sets that look handmade it’s like people are craving handmade we just need to remind them that Etsy is like the place that they need to go to buy stuff like that you know what I mean um I think that I really wish the Etsy Super Bowl commercial would have really like

Focused on the handmade oh my god really instead of just like here’s how much money we can spend on a commercial it’s a people cake and like that told us nothing about the website yeah but you know we can do that through our own marketing so these are so cute

Though little wooden bunnies it you can definitely like get the vibe of where Easter is going going this year and where spring is going it’s it’s very very different than when those little suspenders are adorable they are cute he’s so cute that is an adorable outfit let’s see oh like an apple baset

As a Easter that’s what I always got when I was a kid in an apple basket yeah for until I was like I need more candy and then it was just like one of giant or what are they called like the flower baskets the big like almost flat flower

Carrying baskets little plush Apple wooden toys these are all great for those of you who make toys there’s that lavender again lots of wooden toys and very simple every like I said everything kind of has that handmade aesthetic to it very simple toys I I’m glad that we’re

Going back to that because when you when you give let me this is me like coming as a a a teacher you know perspective and this is great whether you’re making these products or if you’re just a parent um when you give a child let’s

Say that you hand a child a toy and it is a PAW Patrol character that in the child’s mind can only be a PAW Patrol character it is a dog it is defined it is in a square box right if you hand a child something like

This where you know you see this little Arch shaped you know block this could be anything this could be a door a bridge this could be a bridge this a bridge in my mind this could be a dog you could put one of these on top and make it a

Dog and it allows children to exercise a side of their creativity that normally cannot be exercised if you hand them a toy that already has an assigned definition to it that’s why blocks are such a great toy for children um and the same goes for handing your child a

Coloring page versus handing them a blank piece of paper a blank piece of paper they can turn that into whatever they want whereas a coloring page you are saying stay on these lines which is good for their fine motor skills but you should also balance things out that just you know quick Star

Vibe fix oh this is great the refresh and reset basket after a long day of extravaganzas with the kids little luxuries can go a long way this is great this they are giving an idea as a gift where okay if Mom has been stressing out making the kids Easter baskets and stuff

Maybe dad surprises her with a mom Easter basket full of self-care gifts that’s a whole marketing pitch you guys could steal that for your own shops you know that that’s a whole idea huh that’s interesting Nico said mine shows different fines huh I wonder if they’re Regional yeah that’s very interesting

That’s interesting but that’s also good for you too those things are handmade in China by 12-year-olds exactly that’s why I said don’t feel bad about getting inspiration from the Big Brand obviously don’t copy them one for one but we are the real handmade businesses so make sure that you’re expressing that they’re

There are lots of different places within this board there’s also um different influencers who have their own um boards where they basically have all the things that they’ve kind of um what’s the word that I’m looking for uh uh uh uh not catered uh uh uh curated curated they have their curations from

Target that you can explore similar to how Etsy has curations from celebrities where they just pick a bunch of items and then they you know share their curations that’s what these are um let’s go up feel free to explore more of these but we’re going to go into Trends I love

This target Style because this gives you not like the window that Target is providing but these are real people showing off um you know the things that they’re buying so that just that doesn’t work what this yeah that doesn’t work does that give you dirty dirty brain yes

Very much so that does not work without the color on there all right so let’s take a look see is this a denim egg I saw that denim is super duper popular I know it’s I cannot stay the way denim feels yeah it’s very strange denim pillows and things are

Really popular I’ve got a weird cringe with the the like old DVD case like transitional holographic yeah holographic images and fabric especially like when my hands are like freshly out of the shower or something I cannot touch jeans no it does the same thing to

Me so this looks like one person took a bunch of pictures but that’s actually really telling because let’s think this is one person who took all these photos in store she showing you the style that she’s interested in we’ve got this very handmade looking denim egg this butter

Yellow really simple bunny blanket we’ve got this little bunny this looks like something my grandma would have made out a spare fabric like she would take you know old like cloth tablecloths or curtains and things that she had laying around that she didn’t need anymore and she would turn them into something else

And that’s kind of what this reminds me of same with this one um lots of text textures Buzzy Sherpa the colors are very similar it’s it’s just a really cool window into what this person found interesting gter egg gter egg honey you haven’t even touched your gaser eggs gross so let’s look at

Some of the backgrounds um we can see this lady in her dress but we can also see her bedroom she’s got these look like um those kind of like raw cotton linen curtains very very cohesive bedroom color palette lots of beige tones feels like a hotel room lots of

Pillows um no she’s definitely she definitely looks like somebody who keeps her house nice and clean agree it’s just weird not having anything on the walls that blank wall there makes me feel like it’s a hotel cuz hotels usually don’t put anything over the bed we’re maximalists though with our decorating

We’re very maximalist I like to be comfortable in a room I feel every wall every wall is decorated yes but anyway lots of beiges very clean very organized I think that hotel kind of look is in um we’ve got a full denim outfit you know what she makes it work she’s got a

Blazer on top of it yeah no that outfit weirdly you would not look at all of those individual items and think that that would work it works pretty well got the rolled up cuffs yeah red boots I think she I think she put together a

Cool a cool outfit let’s see um I’m also noticing that for those of you who do like print on demand swimsuits one pieces are in this year um I’m noticing that one pieces are the thing it’s not teeny tiny bikinis this year so if you’re making um swimsuits and you do

Pod make sure that you have a good balance of both because a lot of women are opting for a one pieces this year where a couple years ago it was like how tiny can we get our bikinis that was a good spot to take a picture too you can tell by how dirty

The floor is that that’s like a next to the beach pool how dirty so she she came inside right at the edge of the window to get that natchy light outside would have been too bright I think she wanted to get how pretty the ceiling is there’s

Like little stars think so too all I can look at is the absolutely disgusting floor but it’s I can tell that it’s sand I know you he doesn’t like dirty floors I don’t um again kind of handmade looking elements uh leopard print is really in different animal prints are in

Right now I’m noticing Z erra print leopard print cheetah spots why not as long as it ain’t real look again another another full and again she’s rocking is this the same it might it might be the same girl I I tell that’s not the same girl I don’t know her hair is similar

But her face is different I’m saying I can’t tell different position different place different outfit I can’t tell pistachios guys pistachios are super duper in right now I’m so happy about that all the pistachio flavors pistachio scents we got pistachio coffee creamer me in every way possible well that doesn’t

Sound yeah that’s a sorry that sounds inappropriate too sorry I got somebody excited there um look at this girl’s house again it’s just we’re just going to ignore him ignore me again that minimalist kind of color palette very simple pattern she’s got a really cool bench seat with a with a very simple

Pillow plants lots of white uh beige and Grays you know I was doing a little bit of research and Mark and I our whole house upstairs is gray our our rug is gray our walls are gray our furniture is all gray our pillows are all gray I make

I love it and I love it and I’ve noticed that a lot of my friends you know that I was in school with they do the same thing their house is all gray Millennial gray is what they’re calling it m yes because when you dress a room in Gray

You can add a pop of color for certain seasons and no matter what it works so for Valentine’s Day we had gray pillows but they had little red hearts on them oh yeah makes it makes color matching your environment so much easier yes you think it’s maybe because our parents and

Grandparents had such atrocious bright colored wallpaper growing up that were like man I’m so sick of color in my house yeah yeah I think so and it’s not and it’s not depressing it’s just not yeah so Millennial gray something to think about all you have to do is vacuum

And your house is clean you don’t have to scrub the walls down every week but this aesthetic as well is kind of 70s groovy suncatchers textures Mac uh velv V terracotta colors this is popular right now too we just stayed in the coolest Airbnb that had almost like it

Because it helps weed out all of these people that are just getting on there making AI Bots that create shop after shop after shop and filling it with a bunch of garbage it’s it’s a it’s a countermeasure to get rid of these people they’ll take their crap to Su under platform yeah
