New to lithops, have a bunch growing in a pot. I received them bare root about 2 weeks ago, potted in bonsai jack’s gritty mix, and haven’t watered/touched them since. I soaked just the bottom half of terra cotta pot, for maybe a minute today, but while doing that I noticed this cheeky boy had a white spot and seemed discolored/turning brown around the base (although I am not sure if it was like that when i received it). Is this white spot cause for concern? Mold, or just callusing? I’m a little worried since it seems like there are small spots next to the main one.

The white spot seems dry and flaky and doesn’t scrape off easily, and the top looks fine for now and hasn’t wrinkled at all.

Probably just scarring from a “blister” caused by too much water. That’s not to say you gave it too much water – just they’re finicky. Plenty of mine have these and it’s not an issue unless it creates a weak spot that the new leaves try to exit through rather than their normal way of growing. I’ve only had that happen when I purchased ones with a lot of water damage or had a big spot of damage. I wouldn’t worry about it.
