So those of you that are new here this is probably the second part of the yeah this is the second part of the video um I think the easiest way to harvest these bins from worms is to use Harvey and I haven’t used Harvey in a long time

Because I’ve been using a rly sifter that um and I do the light method but but those bins are I feel dry enough now if I start harvesting the worms in there and they’re not dry enough then I’ll have to do it by hand but I’m going to

Give Harvey a try again so I’m cleaning up the whole Harvey area this machine um uses a vibrating motor and it’s supposed to be regulated with the speed with this thing but this thing doesn’t work so I just turn it on use it and then I turn

It off but uh my husband Joe and I built this and I don’t have plans for it we just kind of winged it and we put it on one of these plastic tables you get at like the big box stores and it’s been working great so I’m cleaning up the area around

It cuz you know there’s a lot of castings on the floor and I’m going to show you how Harvey Works hopefully the castings will be dry enough for me to to be able to show you but I can’t work with all this stuff on the floor so I rested a little

Bit now I’m going to take my time and sweep a little and I need to get myself one of those scoopers with the long handle so I might order one of those but that’s what’s happening another great thing is now that we’re empty nesters and my daughter’s bedroom

Is upstairs but she’s not living here anymore I could Harvest stuff super early in the morning without having to worry about waking her up because it was a few times she was sleeping and this thing vibrates and you could hear it upstairs I’m like sorry that I got to work

So that won’t be a problem anymore so I’d like to thank Teemu for sponsoring this part of my video so I don’t know about you all but I shop on teu a lot besides the sponsorships they give me I do my own personal shopping and anytime I order something I was

Getting these really bags and these bags honestly I reuse them for other things they’re good to store stuff but I got some garden decor and this bag box is like this cuz I’ve been messing with it but I got some solar panel um decor for my garden

Because you know I want my garden to look pretty and functional and these little um these little planter bags are great to start seeds in fill them with dirt and you just pop them right in the ground so I’m going to build some of these things with you I wish I could

Take them outside and put them in the garden now but I can’t because it is literally 7° and there’s no sun and we got ice out there so this one is also solar paneled and they’re little lights I’ll insert a screenshot of what these things are going to look like but

I’m really excited cuz they’re just going to be so pretty in the garden this summer oh my gosh look at this little pot guys how cute I love copper and these all light up so when the solar panel hits it at the top and I put this

In the ground like that it’s going to look like it’s like pouring water out how pretty I can’t wait I can’t wait I could have filmed this video more in the spring but since Teemo sent me these things I didn’t want to wait because I know that a lot of people are shopping

For their Garden this time of year and everything will be linked in the description below your discount code and everything I mean give it a try I’ve gotten so many cool things on teu and now Joe is shopping on teu also I got him hooked look at this one

This one has obviously the steak goes in the ground and it has the solar and it has these strings that are going to come down or maybe even pop up I don’t know I haven’t opened it but look down there it has an on and off button so that’s

Really cool I got two of these and when it’s time to go out in the garden you know I’m going to lay everything out there so you can see and maybe you guys could give me pointers of where I should put stuff and this solar lights these

Are those little they call them little fairy lights I don’t know about you but I like to look out at my garden in the evening and when it’s getting dark and just see all these pretty things what I like about solar is that I don’t have to

Worry about it I just just leave it alone the sun will do its thing but anyway um give it a try I mean you can’t you can’t go wrong and what I personally like about teu is that everything is reasonably priced I’ve never paid a lot of money for anything and I’m always

Pleased so I think by far this copper one is my favorite so thank you teu I appreciate you guys all right guys welcome back back so I’m going to set up a basic bin for the Breeders and I’m going to show you how I

Do it so first thing I do is I put a mask on because I like to use many different ingredients even though I’m not going to do it in this video I’ve used straw I’ve used wood shavings I’ve used leaves I’ve used everything in the world but in

Order to get the Breeders to really multiply for you you the secret is Pete Moss it just is I’ve tried cocoa Coy I love working with coconut Co but Pete Moss is the way to go and the best thing to do is sift it but I’m not going

To I don’t like the smell of Peep M personally I just don’t but I deal with it because I want success but you see all the Dust so that’s why I wear a mask and then I walk away while it does cloud does its [Applause] thing okay there there’s another pee Moss I used that wasn’t as Dusty as this I don’t remember the brand but man did I prefer that over this any day so I don’t put much Peete Moss maybe 2 or 3 in probably 3 in is good because remember breeders you’re

Going to sift them out every um three weeks so you really don’t need a whole lot all right let me walk away a minute so as you can see it’s very dusty I can’t stand the stuff sometimes so now I add oyster shells yes these are not ground up I

Don’t grind them sometimes you know you know the one thing about worm farming I learned many moons ago is try not to overthink it nature will do its thing and eventually the oyster shell will disappear and disintegrate you know I also put about 2 tablespoons of dolomite lime in

Here just to calm down the acidity in the Peete moss and now I’m going to wet this down and I I like to do my breeder bins nice and wet really wet okay A little trick that I learned with Peete Moss is if you use cold water takes

Forever to absorb the water but if you use hot water it absorbs it much faster plus Pete Moss you know you got to massage it It Won’t Suck it in alone it sits on the surface which is really annoying so you got to like really work it

In eventually it will suck it all up you look see see it’s still look at this see it’s still sitting sitting there plus once it starts sucking all the water in the powder will calm down this one’s like extra powdery I can’t stand it I can’t stand

It even with a mask on I got to walk away sometimes usually I do the three bins at a time like I’ll line them up on the table and I’ll go one by one but just for demonstration purposes for you to teach you guys I’m just going to do the

One now if you add too much water like oh man that’s way too much just add more Pete Moss the extra bedding isn’t going to hurt your worms what will hurt your worms is lack of moisture so you got to really work it in this stuff is like man look it’s starting

To to absorb it I scrape on the bottom because as it starts getting wet the stuff will start sinking I look for about an 80% moisture and I can tell just by experience and you will too the more you do it the more you’ll see now this water that I’m working with

Is very hot so I definitely will not put the worms in here until this cools off but I’m going to let this sit overnight and then tomorrow we’re going to put the worms in because by then the water would have absorbed absorbed and it’ll be good

Temperature see you have to like dig in there because Pete M will create these pockets and all of a sudden you’ll go like this and a big poofy Cloud will come up and you’ll know that that part did not absorb the water so this is nice and wet so I’m

Going to leave this overnight tomorrow I’ll check the moisture again see how the water just poures out tomorrow I’ll check the moisture again and if I add more water since I’m adding the worms tomorrow I won’t add really hot water because if you put the worms in here while your water’s hot they’re

Going to run all right so that is the first step now we’re going to leave it alone I cover it with Saran Wrap not Saran Wrap bubble wrap and that way the moisture doesn’t escape over night so let me get that bubble right you’ve seen how well this stuff

Works it has saved my worms at least a chunk of them so there we go all right tomorrow we’ll do the worms yay all right I haven’t already told you guys press that subscribe button give me the Thumbs Up watch the videos and especially the thumbs up because YouTube

Will know then then you like watching worm videos and they’ll keep recommending my videos to people and um I’ll link my other crochet and crafting Channel Down Below in case for the any Crafters out there want to follow that crazy journey of mine so tomorrow we’ll keep this going so

Tomorrow we’re going to give Harvey a try and try to harvest the worms that way so you can see how this thing works I’ll see you all next time guys take care

  1. When I use peat moss I like to spray some water into the bag and let it sit for a while and let it soak in and then I can get it out with a lot less dust. I accidentally left a bag outside and not closed and it rained and all of the peat got wet. Made it a lot easier to work with and since I was going to be using it for other things it was already wet and easier to work into my bins and garden.

  2. New to breeder bins. Started one in my cold basement with shredded leaves and leaf mold. Been just giving them pulverized chicken crumble for food. Getting some big fat worms and starting to get cocoons. One problem, fruit flies, being in the basement not a big problem. Want to start another breeder in my grow room, think I will give peat a try.
    Stay Well!!!

  3. I love temu! I wish I could send a picture. I literally just received those same little seed growing bags 😊 I have quiet the addiction to temu 😂 I'm glad your back. You look great!!
