A Hori Hori knife is a versatile gardening tool that originated in Japan. It’s a double-edged, serrated knife with a pointed tip and a slightly concave shape, designed for various gardening tasks like digging, cutting, transplanting, and weeding. The name “Hori Hori” comes from the Japanese verb “horu,” which means “to dig.”

Video I’m in my Greenhouse Sheltering from the wind and the rain that just seems to be persistent between between Christmas and New Year this year and I want to share with you a gift that my daughter has bought me this Christmas and I think you’re going to like this so
On Christmas Day I opened up this gift from my daughter Jessica and it is a canvas bag with the writing niwaki written on it what the heck is this so I’ll open it up and inside I present to you a h hry knife by a company called niwaki
Or nawaki I’m not sure how you pronounce it this knife is such high quality I mean I’ll come on and show you that in a bit but first just wanted to talk a bit about this company noaki noaki so noaki actually means garden tree doesn’t sound that exciting but there something really nice
About niaki and its business story I’ll leave the link in the description below cuz I think you’ll find it quite an interesting read if you’re into gardening and some sort of Feelgood stories about people learning trades and starting new businesses and this is definitely a premium product I’ll leave
The link in the description for this particular product but it was £35 which is yeah it’s quite expensive for a knife but you know what it’s like with gardening equipment if you buy quality it really does pay off cuz it lasts so much longer and they just feel
So good to use I’m this isn’t a sponsored video or anything like this it’s just the thought I’ve got to share this with you guys because honestly taking a look at the knife look the sheath itself is like really high quality canvas like really stiff stuff
So it’s not going to break or rip or anything like that anytime soon and let me give you a closeup of this knife it’s kind of concaved over there and you’ve got this dip here and it’s got more of a blade on this side than the other but it’s absolutely beautiful and
Look the the knife itself goes into the handle so it’s going to be really strong it’s like an allinone toall isn’t it I guess cuz you could use it for weeding you could use it for chopping stuff and you could also use it for I don’t know
Marking out drills in the soil and then planting seeds in it so by the time you’ve got this and you can attach it to a belt and you’re walking around your alotment plot like Rambo you only really need one tool don’t you the hurry hurry just come around the other way I can
Don’t know whether you can see like that honestly the quality of this knife is something else noaki do a whole bunch of other products take a look at their website I mean they do everything secur to clothing as well so I might be investing in some more this stuff but
It’s definitely a premium product I guess I’ve not really heard of hry H knives before so be really interested to know if any of you guys use H Hy knives on your allotment plot um to know the pros and negatives of using them to be honest I can’t can’t see negative in
Using this looks absolutely beautiful apart from the fact that I’m going to get it dirty so I definitely have to clean it off after each use I this has shocked me the quality of this and I can’t wait to start using it this year so I’ll do a followup videos going to
Really help me on the allotment PL it’s going to be my go-to tour for everything I think and I’m really pleased with it and I just wanted to share it with you guys and get your thoughts and comments if you’ve ever used one or fancy getting one I could certainly recommend this hit
The Subscribe button if you haven’t done already and you’ll be able to find out in a couple of months what I actually think about using this for real life on my alotment plot you have to bit with it really want need to come down and shck
I’m almost almost feel like I don’t want to leave it down the alotment but then I don’t want to keep walking around with a knife like this I mean I mean if anybody stop me and I just that’s all right it’s just a garden knife hope you
Enjoy hope you enjoyed the video come down and to share this with you it’s been the highlight of my day so thank you very much for watching guys and there’s only one more thing to say I’ll see you in the next one

Ive got one and its outstanding enjoy
I had one last year Graeme, when my allotment shed was broken into, there was only 1 item stolen, yes youve guessed it, my Hori Hori Knife, i am thinking of buying another but i wouldnt be leaving it down the allotment unless i had a really good hiding place to keep it safe. You will love it, as you say it takes away the need to carry a few hand held tools at the same time.
I have one had it a couple of years now and don’t use anything else. A fantastic tool
Great gift!! I have a hori hori and love it!!
Great pronunciation of Japanese. You got it right the first time. Horiru means to dig in Japanese.
Great video. ❤
Banzi Watashi wajisatsu sure tsumoridesu
You are a lucky fella. I can't afford one at the moment. Have fun but be careful with it Graeme 🤗
Good to see all the water gone on the allotment. Watch your fingers 😂 I don’t do well with sharp things. Happy New Year Graeme and family, here’s to an amazing 2024 grow season, Ali 🥳🇨🇦🎉
I’ve wanted one for a while but no one takes the hint t in my family 😂😂 so looks like I’ll have to get my own lol. 🎉 good to see you’ve calmed since the poly and burning of fly tipping stuff x
Rambo Graham, You need to grow your hair, wear a headband, pump some iron, mumble a bit, grease up your newly toned body and boom, Sarah could make a few bob on the side, hire you out as a hit man or kiss a gram in Brum 👰🏻♀️👰🏼👰🏻♂️
Don’t have one but I have seen many gardeners who use one on you tube.
Hey Graeme what a great present, I have seen a few youtube gardeners using these and everyone recommends them, you are right buying quality is best, it looks a beats, the intro was a bit scary if we didn't know better. I can feel a birthday present moment coming on. Sad rain stopped play but nice to have undercover sowing 🙂
I got one from my daughter last Christmas. Love it
I think you are emphasizing that this is a knife when it actually is as it says a Japanese trowel , have had one for a few years now and find it a joy to use for weeding, planting and harvesting. Great all in one tool but it is not a knife.
