Change soil to mainly inorganic. And don’t water till old leaves dries up

So just general basics – any pot you put them in should be at least 4 inches high, preferably unfinished terracotta with a drainage hole (for me, I might fudge on what the pot is made out of but I never use a pot with no drainage hole), soil mixture should be primarily inorganic (like 20% organic and 80% inorganic), and their watering cycle is a bit weird:
Can water in spring after they’re done absorbing the old leaves. Can water in summer but only if they really need it and only a little, safe to water in Fall but should stop after they’re done flowering, don’t water in winter and/or when splitting. They split in winter – hence no water. If it doesn’t seem like it’s splitting and does seem like it needs water during winter a lot of people suggest giving it a little bit of water – I try to avoid this because they’re not supposed to get water in the winter but I do have one or two that were struggling so I watered them once a couple of weeks ago.
