As we head into winter I’m thinking and planning for the Spring and Summer and way beyond…how big does that tree get, will that shrub out perform that out and push it out?? A lot more work goes into a planting plan that meets the eye. Here in a Richard Miers Garden Design garden in Kensington I used a Hawthorne tree (Crateageus) that will never get too big but has great blossom in the Spring, lovely foliage on the Sumner, berries and fiery colour I. The Autumn and interesting gnarled bark and branch structure for winter. What’s your favourite tree for all seasons?
