I’m so sad my tbm grafted to a bridge cross is pretty rotten on this bottom half. I’d love to just dust it in sulfur but you think I should just chop it? Was grafted a month ago and been on the porch with the rest of the family and they all were froze solid for a 5 hour window but all lived.

Yes cut well into the healthy green flesh then dust with sulfur

Sulfur is a disinfectant. It’s not going to help a necrotic plant. Chop it off above the brown.

Yeah I’d give the same advice as the others here, chop above the rot, dust in sulphur mixed with a bit of IBA rooting powder, allow to callous and then try to root it again.

It’s better to get rid of this rot and have a TBM grafted to 4-6” of a column than risk the whole thing by letting it rock. As for the cut chunk that’s already rotting, I’d also dust in sulphur and then I’d place it in a cool dry place for awhile in hopes the rotting slows down enough to where you could then propagate it and get a pup out of it. I’ve dealt with this issue before and I’ve gotten lucky a few times and was able to salvage a pup out of the rotted mid cut. Other times they were too far gone and just rotted out before it could grow again.

Chop it and dust with sulfur and it will probably live
