Multiple viewing locations will be set up with DJs and pop-up dance parties. More than 200,000 people are expected to take in the festivities. Mark McAllister has the details.
Things are much darker and wetter here on the waterfront tonight but the city is promising that it will be much brighter and more spectacular for New Year’s Eve with plans for a major light show and different DJ parties popping up in different locations if you want to
Come join us you’re welcome All Along The Waterfront we are viewing areas across the Inner Harbor all the way from Sher Commons to Little Norway Park an estimated 200,000 people are expected to come together and celebrate along the lake in to and to take in the fireworks being launched from two separate barges
In the East and West Harbor today the startup’s setting up for the parties with DJ equipment and sound systems being carefully placed for local artists and popup dance performances all while making sure everyone stays safe there will be primarily fencing around the Harborfront Center uh to sort of support
Audience flow and ensure uh that folks aren’t going into any of the construction areas um that are still happening and taking place on Harbor front center there will be road closures in effect near the water front and so the city is encouraging people to take
Transit both the TTC and go will be free from 7 p.m. until 8 on Monday morning the city’s total budget for the activities half a million dollar I think that’s fabulous we live beside this beautiful Lake we should enjoy it and appreciate it every day and if if we do
It at least one day a year it’s a perfect day to start a new year it it’s really nice having the fireworks by the lake because I mean there’s so many people that live in all these buildings there’s thousands of people so like having it is gets the city gets the most
Bang for their buck and Ruby do you like the fireworks yeah for those who prefer a different vantage point and some good food to go along with it 360 restaurant a top the CN tower is open for dining with some seats still up for grabs we’re offering a really special menu for all
The guests who want to ring in the New Year up at the highest restaurant in the city 351 MERS in the sky let’s ring it in the right way and for those planning on heading somewhere else Central in Toronto for the light show and festivities there will be announcements
Letting people know that there are no fireworks at City Hall in nathanville square this year definitely something to keep in mind and for those who aren’t coming down to the Waterfront either the city will actually be having a live webcast starting at 10:00 with a countdown starting at 11:30 and there

But you said you are broke , Inbreeding welfare easterners
So the Liberal/Ndp clowns in Toronto have money for this but not housing or poverty?
Yet they want the rest of Ontario to foot their bill for their deficits.
It shouldn't be fireworks at all for the sake of dogs and animals in general….
So the air pollution happens during HINDU DIWALI FESTIVAL only.???
I hope they will improve the fireworks show this time it is so third world type not the best. Look at Australia’s fireworks or hong Kong’s fireworks absolutely amazing
