In this video, I get my first ever harvest from my grow tent. Very satisfying and happy to do so. The turnips looked good.

We’re seeing shortages of basic items, with food being among them. I hope this video inspires and makes others realize that growing food in a suburban setting can be done. The backyard grocery store never has empty shelves! Happy Gardening!

He Good morning morning and welcome back to my channel Urban backyard container gardening I’m Moses today we are going to do my first ever harvesting of vegetables from my grow tent as some of you know the company Mars Hydro uh gifted me a 3X3 grow tent and I’ve been using it to

Grow vegetables inside uh some of them are ready we’re going to harvest some cabbages and I’m sorry some um turn-ups rather I have a cabbage and a tomato plant and a rudaba also inside I’m going to um take those out and I’m going to put in

My um seats that I started for the winter indoor row season 2023 Challenge and I’m going to show you what I’m going to do and how I’m going to do it So So as you can see we have our plants doing well um the turn ups I’m going to take out and those are the on your left to the rear and in the middle and on the right to the front those three are going to be harvested and the other for

The uh caloo which is the in the second row in the middle the Cabbage the rudaba in the back to the right and the Tomato I’m going to take those out and put them on my patio and then I’m going to lower the light and turn it up for the recommended

Um usage for my seeds for the um wig 2023 challenge so these are the plants that I took out um the first one is the Ruda you have the Tomato on the right the Calo on the left and the cabbage in back of the Calo um these are coming along

Well although I’m a little concerned about the tomato is to me it seems to be leggy so maybe I need to add some more soil into the Container I’ll probably do that U before I put it back inside the grill bag okay as you can see I’ve removed the

Plants I left three of the grow bags the empty grow bags that had the turn up in as a makeshift um stand so that my seedlings are sitting up a little higher and not sitting on the uh floor of the grow tent I’ve also raised the lighting

Level and to help with the germination I’m going to um close the B back up and every day I will um take the um window velcro off and take a look to see how everything’s going um hopefully after anywhere from 4 to 7 days I should start seeing uh some signs of

Germination and then we’ll once they get big enough to transplant we’ll come back and Transplant them into some of the the bags that are there and the ones that are currently in use should be are ready to be reused hey these are the turnips and they look

Good um some of the roots um the actual turnup itself it’s pretty big I got one small one and I got another big one over here now when I process these and I’ll take pics of of it I like to cut up the leaves and then go ahead and cut up the

Root on the turnup itself and put it into um what I’m cooking although I may take one and just go ahead and cut it up and use it when I make pot roast or something like that but either way I’ll show you okay we’re back in the kitchen and we’re going to vacuum

Seal my vegetables in this bag we’re putting the Turner roots and I end up dicing them up uh a large one and the small one let’s put that up there And here we go it’s all vacuum sealed all the turnips into this one and now we’re going to vacuum seal it and these are sealed I broke today’s date on it and they will go in my freezer so they’ll be ready when I’m ready to use

Them so I want to thank you for coming along with me while we did this uh one chore for today we removed the turn-ups and the rest of my plants that were growing inside the grow tent and we replac them with the seedlings or the seat starts that I started in the

Previous video for the wig 20232 24 seat challenge so when they start to uh come up we’ll come back and show you their progress if you liked uh the video go ahead and give me a big thumbs up if you’re interested in any of the seeds or the products that I use head

Over to my Amazon storefront or my website the links for both will be in the description portion of the video and at this moment take the time to consider joining or subscribing to my channel if you haven’t subscribed go ahead and do so first and foremost it’s free secondly it helps my channel

Grow and thirdly you might learn something and I might learn something from you if you do subscribe go ahead and hit the like and the notification all you’ll be notified whenever I upload new contents leave me a comment on what you saw today whether I what I could have did differently or

Better um all comments will be responded to and until next time always remember even in small spaces such as mine you can grow a great amount of food for yourself and your family stay strong stay blessed and grow grow grow lastly always remember to give

The thanks to God for without him we are nothing take care

  3. Its true, growing your own food is a great way to combat shortages Thanks for reminding us that we have the power to be self-sustainable

  4. Your garden always looks good. Yes we need to grow our own food. So we don't have to go to the grocery store. Happy gardening

  5. Enjoyed the video. That’s a really cool looking tent setup you have there. I also need to look into getting a vacuum seal as I’m hoping that as I continue learning I’ll be able to save my harvest !
