Why do they call this one peev starfish they call it starfish because it looks like a Starfish hey guys I’m Matt Nichols and we’re on location here at Buck Holz Nursery we traveled all the way from the MR Maple Farm over to the buckolz farm we want to show you some amazing specimens of Acer palum pey starfish hey guys I’m Tim hit that like button
Subscribe to our YouTube channel we do weekly releases on mrmaple.com as well so sign out for our weekly emails there today peev starfish it’s such a cool Plant the leaf CS down like a little starfish it’s a tree you’re going to love they call it starfish cuz it looks
Like a starfish guys pev starfish we offer this one a lot at Mr Maple now pet velt introduced this tree in Holland that’s where the peev comes in at a lot of people say peave he didn’t like that that pees him off a little bit I don’t
Really know I’m joking but PE is what this tree should be called I talked to his son ttin and he he pronounced it PE has a whole series where he puts a signature on there now starfish is an outstanding plant that Talon buckolz happened to put a name on for p velt he
Was walking by the tree and he said that looks like a starfish well the name stuck later Town introduced a Japanese maple that pairs really well with this called hitot which is Japanese for starfish a little more of a green version of this the two pair together exceptionally well now the leaf it’s
Outrageous it gives a unique texture because it does cup downward all the lobes cup downward and the foliage itself cups downward as well they call it starfish because it looks like a starfish it is an outrageous tree but I love this tree because it’s a good midsize upright Japanese maple typically
Reaching that 8 feet and height in 10 years it’s much slower growing than your blood good types your import ones so if you’re looking for a red upright that’s not going to outgrow your space look no further than Peevy starfish now that cut down appearance gives this one a really
Regal interesting appearance it kind of has that convex looks like little hands going on but it’s an incredible plant now we’re shooting this in October we’re right before the fall color this is actually the greenest time of the year for these trees the fall color is a
Blazing brilliant pink red I love when this one hits its fall color in fact I probably share more fall color pictures of this one than any other time because it reaches some impeccable shades of pink red making that starfish shape even light up more if that’s even possible
Now being that it’s got a starfish name a starfish appearance guess what it looks like starfish kids are going to love it they’re going to say hey they’re going to ask about hey how’s that starfish tree doing and that means you can get kids into gardening they call it
A starfish because it looks like a starfish so this is an awesome plant that you can really introduce gardening to those younger kids the younger generation they love animals and being able to cross over animal names with plants it’s a great way to get them hooked on gardening oh we got our love
Of garden from our grandmother and it’s so easy if you want to get a kid into it hook them in with a critter you know it’s so easy for a kid to want to go and check on that in the landscape this one is a perfect way to garden with your
Children or with your grandchildren they’re always going to want to come back and see what the starfish is doing it just captures that little bit of the imagination in every single leaf and you can see why a kid would just love this one you can draw it you can dream about
It it looks like a whole you know I was joking the other day with some of the ones that look like Coral because you can make like a whole Octopus’s Garden you can put this with something like the goshiki kotohime you’ve got the starfishes you got the coral looking
Trees with something like that in ker aishi so many fun plants to grow I think PE starfish has a place in anyone’s garden now we’re standing here next to some of the largest peev starfish in the United States this is a relatively new cultivar these are some massive
Specimens you rarely see them this size typically 6 foot even in 10 years Guys these are huge Peevy starfish so y’all hope you enjoyed today’s Cult of our highlight buckolz Nursery a starfish that looks like a starfish y’all smash that like button subscribe to our YouTube channel and check us out on our

So cool!!
Wait, I’m confused, does it look like a starfish??? 😜🤣
Does this variety stay that tall and narrow or do they fill out?
I ❤️ Specimen Saturdays! In august I was hunting for a lot of buchholz cultivars and I seen this 20 gallon sized Peve ⭐️Fish at Molbaks in woodinville wa and it looked like a ⭐️Fish! It was 12ft tall pushing its 2nd flush looking bold red! And was about at most 5ft wide a perfect size tree for your yard👌🏻. I’m so happy my favorite nursery MrMaple came to the rescue to continue growing Buchholz farms🔥. Thank you MrMaple for all you do! #japanesemaples #MapleMafia❤️🍁🔥!
Nice looking tree. Please consider adding requirements for growing conditions to your presentations Zone, sun, shade, hardiness, sheltered or not)
