Hey friends welcome to Gardening with Creekside today we are going to uh spend the day here at the retail Garden Center because it is our last day of the 2023 season for the garden center to be open
Now before you freak out don’t worry we are still going to have five videos a week coming to you every week no matter what uh and so if you don’t see us check your Facebook or YouTube because
We are here 5 days a week week also um if you subscribe to especially the YouTube channel that is the most reliable way to see the videos because sometimes I know it can get a little chaotic so if
You will just hit that subscribe button it is completely free and that way you will turn on some notifications every time we post a video you will get notified WE Post like I said five a week
Except for Sunday and Tuesday we will have a video for you but it is the last day here at the Garden Center so I thought thought it would be fun to kind of take the day with us right go through
The day see what it is like to be at the Garden Center on a very uh fun festive end of season day we have got a jam-pack day it is Saturday December the 16th this is the longest that we have been
Open um in the in the year for I think forever so we’re we’re breaking some records today we have a power planner Workshop that happens at 10:00 so I have got all of my to tools and supplies here
Ready to go for the workshop so I love it we’re going to go through and let everybody kind of put their hands on the power planners so we can teach them educate them about what a power planner auger
Is why they are fantastic why are they the only ones that we use here at Creekside nursery and then you know just how they can make life so much easier in the garden so we will show you a little
Footage of that but I love these stands that Greg and the Gang at Power planner made for me oh my goodness uh they are amazing so if you have a power planner and you have some of the augers
And you need some help as far as a organization I’m trying to convince Greg and Johnny that they need to start uh manufacturing these because it’s really nice to have those all set up and neat and organized wherever it is that you store your power planners of course power Planters are
The garden augers that are made 100% here in the United States they are the highest quality very strong steel uh we’ve never broken one we have used them in our thick red clay soil and they just make gardening so much easier so much more efficient we actually planted the entire signature
Garden using the power planner augers it is a nice Frosty morning here at Creekside side you can see that the signature Garden is doing quite well uh after being quite Frozen for multiple times the grass the side has just a lovely kind of the uh nice silver icy Frosty look to it but
Everybody is doing great here in the garden and we’re just kind of you know on a whole pattern right now for this space what we are doing today is we have a lot of fun activities planned we’ve
Got a lot of specials going on with it being the last day we have got even some delicious uh hot chocolate up there and we’ve got some cookies it is uh just going to be a great day it is also you
Can absolutely be planting shrubs and perennials and trees we actually have some beautiful North Pole um arbores over here I think they’re North Poles um we’ll go check them out right quick they’re going to go into a landscape so we have a customer who is getting 16 of these guys Andrew
Is going to go install them and they are just absolutely these are sorry these are emal greens so emal greens and North Poles from a distance they look very similar but this is a wonderful
Way to create that uh nice kind of privacy screen these are beautiful plants like I said 16 of them are going into the landscape and in fact um the customer was actually a little worried he said you
Know gosh it’s you know getting towards the end of December I think it’s just too late to plant these I believe he’s not originally from here um he’s from a colder area and so we were like no
No no no this is perfect this is the perfect time to be planting so uh unless you’re you know so it is a perfect time to be planting these so even if you’re still holding on to some plants like me uh
That you know we tend to collect some plants it is a great time to go ahead and get them in the ground both the trees and the shrubs um here we have we’re not even open yet and so we’ve got a
Nice little little fun little cookies and some hot chocolate here for our sweet people that come visit us and of course Alyssa Alyssa is our resident uh she is the one that writes everything look at that beautiful handwriting I tell you it is just she does a great job on that so we
Have um the windchimes still available that make great gifts and the bird houses so there’s lots of things here that are going on um we are expecting it to be a a busy day even though it is a chilly
Start we’ve noticed that in the winter time that people don’t really start get going until about 10: or 11: so that is why we went ahead and move the power PL Workshop till 10: cuz it is a little
It’s a little Frosty out here uh we’ do still have just a little bit uh left over of some beautiful violas and we’ve got some Miz America mustards and some KES and all sorts of various things you can
See we’ve started kind of um moving some of the shrubs back outside still a lovely selection of unique stone availables these make great gift Christmas gifts and um so much fun but it is crazy to think that after today this greenhouse and there’s an echo in here there hasn’t been an
Echo in here since uh gosh I guess last January or this past January so it is going to be after today we are going to go ahead of course and Purge that greenhouse because we have to sanitize it before
We bring in uh fresh annuals which will be in mid January that’s when our first plugs arrive from Pleasant View Gardens so we will um we fill up this greenhouse first because it is the retail
Greenhouse so those are those early early annuals we will have here and so what we have to do is clean all that out sanitize everything and then just keep it ready uh make sure all the heat is
Still working that the um everything’s working and that way when it comes to um mid January we can go ahead and put those sweet little babies in there now we’re walking over here to the Pines uh they
Have still a beautiful selection of Aqua Poots available so we have the aqua Poots are currently buy one get one free so we have lots of options available for our folks who are coming to visit us today hopefully they will they have been taking real advantage of this great bargain of course the
Aquapots are the ceramic glazed um self-watering containers this is a collaboration between PR and winners um who does all the marketing and kind of the distribution of it I guess you would say and then Michael Carr who is the artist who designs the pottery he designs the colors he designs um
All the shapes and he designs the textures all of that and then Jack Barnwell of course is the uh wonderful landscaper who came up with the concept so an aquapot if you don’t know just a real quick
Overview here uh we’ve got one that you can see is upright they do not have holes in the bottom and that way they hold water so here’s an example and you can see that it’s holding the water so it
Will hold the water up to there’s a little drain hole right here and then once the water gets to that drain hole then of course it will drain out so you can’t overfill these containers which is
Fantastic then you have this insert that comes right here here um this whole area will be full of soil you push soil down into this um soil tube and it actually has little slits on it
So that the soil and the water come into contact then you go ahead and plant it as normal um and your water tube is right there so that way you can take the hose put your hose right there fill
It up until water squirts out the back and there you go so lots of different colors I especially love the blue and I think they call it peacock which is like a brown it has a little bit
Of purple in there just beautiful so if you’re coming uh those folks who were coming today they do have a great selection what is not sold will be here of course come springtime so we are kind
Of planning on it all depends on the weather but right now uh mid-February will be when we reopen and and oh my gosh it’s going to be here before we know it so we will reopen mid-February weather
Permitting uh because sometimes in February it could be you know 60° or we could have an ice storm or a snowstorm and be under some snow so we will obviously keep you well updated on those
Kinds of things and our schedule as we progress to that uh but we’re going to take this time off to just kind of get some projects done right we still got the production Greenhouse we’ve got to finish and then going into production and producing all of the beautiful annuals the unique
Stone still had a beautiful selection of this making great Christmas gifts this too when you come to see us in the early spring late winter this is going to be a perfect time to go ahead and start planting your containers and purchasing them that way you can go ahead and start thinking
About where you want it in your garden you can um you know go ahead bu the plants all sorts of fun things but lots and lots of options for you here at Creekside so we’ve got some customers already
Rolling in it is going to be a fun filled very very jam-packed day I have a feeling and we’re just going to go along for the ride together so we’re going to take some footage of just
Different events as the day goes on and then it’s 9:00 in the morning right now so I will see you back at 3 3:00 this afternoon once the day is over here at Creekside nursery and we will be
Officially closed for the 2023 season all right y’all enjoy the day I have no idea what’s going to I wanted to pop on here real quick and give a little update on how things are going having
A fantastic day aquapots are going out of here loading up some in a truck behind us standing here behind the barn because I wanted to show you um some plants that we have put together for one of our c customers and we have them separated and organized by different flower beds so I
Thought this would be fun for you to get some ideas for your garden as you’re planning for next year um of course depends on where you are in the country here in the south I mean my gosh
We can plant basically year round so if you’re planning on creating a new flower bed or if you want to redo one in your yard or you have new construction who knows what the reason may be
You just want to add a new flower bed to your yard um so these are some ideas that might be good plants to put together that we are putting together for a customer so you can see we have
This whole little selection of all of these plants um right here on the back side of the nursery and you might also kind of notice that they all have different colored uh survey tape so everything
That is bright orange goes in one bed then we have a sha Garden that has red and then we have a green green tape bed and then finally we over here in the back we have a blue tape bed so let me just
Let’s just start over here so this is a full sun flower bed we have got uh We’ve Got the pugster Blues back here we’ve got two of these are The Pink Carpet yes the Perfecto Mundo Pink Carpet
Aelas with a Fire Light tidbit there in the middle actually sorry we have three of the pink carpets I didn’t didn’t see that didn’t see that other one because the pink carpet’s nice and low and then of
Course the beautiful dianthus so this is a great um and CCE has put it out in kind of the layout that you could easily do it working of course with your pugster are going to be your tallest
In the back and these are only going to be 3T tall y’all so this is going to be a very short bed so it can be maybe it’s underneath a window maybe it is near a sidewalk who knows right in front
Of your porch um but this is going to have yearr round interest because your dianthus of course is going to be nice and green your aelas are green and even your pugster blue butterfly bushes are going to keep a lot of their foliage beautiful full sun option for you and then moving down
Here to the uh green bed we have some I believe these were the s charm um either c charm or the ever red low pedms I can’t quite see the tag so definitely going to be your tallest ones
In the back beautiful kaleidoscope aelas and basically this is going to be an evergreen bed everything here that you see is going to give you um beautiful color year round you’ve got three of the Fire Chiefs um these are those thas that are just beautiful they’re not dead I promise they
Just have that beautiful bronze color here in the fall and winter and then it is the Perfecto Mundo double purple and there are five of those as well clear clearly they’re spaced not appropriate right
None of these are U but you can see just kind of how they are grouped together and like I said full sun bed for this one as well Evergreen lots of different kind of Interest would be a gorgeous
Pairing together then we’re coming over here to our shade people now we are missing one of the Florida sunshines uh so there should be another Florida Sunshine for this flower bed but the Florida Sunshine does great in the shade it is an Evergreen you get that beautiful chartreuse color
It’s one of my favorite favorite shade shrubs ever it is just a beautiful plant and then paired right here beside of it is the ruby slippers Oakleaf hydrangea now y’all it is here it is you know mid December look at that beautiful red leaves on it especially next to those Florida Sunshine oh
My gosh gorgeous and then we’ve got some of the ukuras we have a hydrangea this is a lance dance Reba and that is going to be a macril hydrangea right so nice big classic mop head blooms on it
Will be uh pH dependent so depending on your soil um will depend on the color and then for some fun interest that I love this one of my favorite ferns this is a Autumn Fern this is Brilliance is is
The variety name of that so you’re going to have everything in this flower bed is basically going to be an evergreen except for your Let’s Dance arba um hydrangea it is going to be obviously
Deciduous it is right now and then even your Oak Leaf this ruby slippers it will hold on to its leaves for quite a long time but eventually they will fall off but for a shade garden you’re going
To still going to have lots of Interest even in the winter with that and then last but not least is a nice kind of cottage Garden look here and we have a whole mix of things we do have um some more
Laur pedum these are the C charms so these are the C charms so that means the other ones are the ever red you’ve got s charm L pedms you’ve got a Steady As She Goes gardinia we have got the Niagara Falls
Grass beautiful perennial grass right here then we have got three day lies this is the sound of my heart obviously your day llies are going to be completely deciduous right they’re going to die completely back like most perennials do beautiful kind of purple and Peach flowers another
Kaleidoscope ailia to bring in tie in those beds we have pugster amethyst butterfly bush a Yen and then we have um we have Yin here and then we have yang right here A different kind of gardinia this
Is the pillow talk and then a really fun upright climber is the sensation honeysuckle y’all even in mid to late December this plant is still Evergreen and it is still producing flowers it has not been
In the greenhouse it is hanging out here in the 24 19 degree nights and it is still blooming such a great um fun interest that will give you some vertical height we’ve got the boom chakal ladas perennial geraniums and then we have monardas more butterfly bushes and then one more um lur
Pedum that kind of ties in I love how uh CC laid this out we do this in our Gardens so you’ll have one here and then you have two over here it’s just a neat way to kind of separate but tie in
The bed all together and then last but not least we have another hydrangea and this is I’m trying to look at the tag oh it’s not a hydrangea I’m sorry that is a summerific hibiscus that is the
Summerific edge of night so this is just something to kind of give you an idea if you are looking to create new flower beds um maybe just go back and if that kind of peques your interest jot
Down some of those names um but just also keep in mind that if you’re going to be visiting Creekside nursery and you need some help planning your beds we absolutely would love to do that for you we can
Help you um that’s what cc did here with Evelyn and just went through and they talked it through looked at Sun conditions looked at spacing and got everything planned out you can uh send us an email at orders gardening withc Creeks side.com if you need some Landscaping help and we will send your
Email in the right direction to the person who needs it um and also you can just come on out to the Garden Center come uh February you can bring some pictures and some basic measurements and of
Course we would love to help you all right now what I know what we’re getting ready to do or what they’ve started already doing is moving um inventory from the greenhouse and we’re starting to put put it out back where it belongs on the shrub lot so the final Day festivities are
Continuing the end of the day is here my friends and that is a wrap on the 2023 season here at Creekside Nursery in Dallas North Carolina I don’t think we got any footage of since I talked to you
About the different types of like the Landscapes that we had back there that we had pulled uh it just got to be a little bit of a crazy day we were a little short staff today we’ve got some
Uh folks who are not feeling well today so they were not here and we were some busy Little Bees getting set up torn down whatever you want to call it it is Saturday afternoon I am tired
Getting ready for the Winns let me show you what we got done um we really got everything cleaned up the all the plants outside of the greenhouse have been put back on the shrub lot or the perennial
Tables wherever it is that they belong because that way we don’t have to worry about you know wind knocking them over they’re all nice and insulated and then look at the greenhouse it is completely cleaned out it is empty it is ready to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized and then just
Sit and wait for annuals that will be coming in in less than two months Cece and I were both in here um and she walked in and she was like oh and I was like I know it’s kind of sad isn’t it and she goes
It really is because we have had such an amazing year and with fabulous customers fabulous visitors fabulous staff we have had uh lots of fun lots of memories have been made lots of beautiful plants
Have been grown and moved to their permanent homes with you sweet people and um it’s kind of a little sad but you know that I’m I’m also rejoicing that today is the last day uh for the season
Because yeah it’s just you do this every weekend right every week day in and day out and it just becomes very routine and you’re used to seeing all of your sweet regular people um we’re going
To take a little break right even here and not too much is terribly changed out on the pergola area we started a little bit we’ll continue with this you can see that nice splash of color the violas
And things that are over there I may pull from for from those for certain little projects if I want to but what we’ll do as the season progresses and as the weeks once the New Year comes and we’re
All back here working we’ll take our perennials and we’ll just load them up really close to one another again that just helps the plants because like tomorrow the storm that’s going to come through we’re supposed to have some high winds so it keeps everybody upright that way when it does
Rain they get water because of course they can’t get watered if they’re turned on their sides um but everything is out here ready to go uh projects we’ll have of course projects over the winter here at the nursery because we want to keep things fresh and neat and tidy and looking beautiful and
Always switching something up here at the Garden Center so when you come back in mid-February or spring or summer it’ll be nice and fresh and clean and nice environment for everybody to shop but we have had an amazing year again cannot thank you sweet people enough whether you have come to us
Every weekend because we have those folks who do that um we have people that travel an hour and a half two hours away from us on a regular basis and to come see us and to shop and those customers
Are dear sweet friends because um we just have a great relationship and this is just not a couple this is multiple people or if you um came here for the first time today and we got to chitchat
Thank you or if you’ve never been to Creekside and maybe you have done some online ordering we are so appreciative maybe you haven’t come to Creekside maybe you haven’t ordered from Creek Side maybe you are just a great faithful uh supporter of our videos we greatly greatly appreciate it so um all
Of the love and well wishes and happy holidays and all the holidays right merry Christmas happy New Year all the things all the above thank you so much and we wish you a very blessed and restful
And peaceful season and um we’ll see you we’ll see you back here before Christmas but uh it is nice to know that this is kind of the the end chapter for 2023 and projected date of opening
Is the Saturday in February 16th or 17th whatever that is on the calendar that is our projected date of opening we’ll see how the weather holds out for us but if you want to mark your calendar whatever
That Saturday is you can mark your calendar we already have food trucks that will be here that have committed to being here that weekend two food trucks not just one two uh more details to come on
That but as always we so greatly appreciate you thank you for all your love and support here at the Garden Center in 2023 we look forward to an amazing 2024 we’ll see you in the next video bye friends

Thanks for making my viewing experience enjoyable and informative as well! You never disappoint on content. May you both enjoy your time off and your sweet family as well.
I live in northern climes where our greenhouses open the week before Mother's Day and close the last week of June. I can't imagine how much work it is to be open for ten months! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
We had a blast visiting yesterday! Thank you for your encouraging words on gardening and chickens. We were so sweetly surprised by the warm welcome and help we received. Thank you all and Merry Chrristmas!

Please enjoy your time closed to get some rest, what a year ahead. Love you alll!!!
Merry Christmas to you and your family! 🎄
We came last February to see you and buy plants. We'll probably drive the hour and a half again next February. Thank CeCe for the plant layouts. I have a shade area to be planted next year, and now I have some ideas for it. Please do more of the layouts. Enjoyed you educational videos all year. Because of you I have used an auger to dig plant holes. What a time saver and help for those muscles. Merry Christmas. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Congratulations on a wonderful 2023 season. Try to relax and enjoy the holidays before 2024 arrives with a bang❤️
Thanks for all you and your Team does Jenny. Enjoy the time off, but as we know with the nursery work is never done😊
Merry Christmas 🎄 Jenny and Jerry!
Your video cued up at the end of a 2.5-hr. video of Mackinac Island gardens on Nature Harmony TV channel. Stark difference from abundant blooms to your frosty property 😊
I do believe here in Minneapolis, we're going to be warmer than YOU! Christmas day's forecast is predicted to be 48⁰ F. I am perfectly ok having a brown Christmas, especially after last winter when we had our third snowiest winter on record.
I'm already looking forward to next season and planning plants I want to get. Seeing those gardens of the island are certainly inspiring.
Now, enjoy your brief respite for two months will end real quick. Thank you for a lovely year of videos. I look forward to what you have in store for us.
Thanks a bunch Jenny and Jerry, I’ve watched you fir a long time, love you both and all your extended family at the nursery. Jenny you made me cry with the closing video but I know you’ll be back soon with more planting that I can not do now here in Chicago, but come spring I’ll be right along planting with you guys. Thanks much
Jenny – the layout of all the perennials and shrubs in the parking lot was so helpful.
Garanimals for plants!!! I LOVE THAT! Color-coded for areas ❤
It’s been a real joy to go through the season with you all, Jenny. Merry Christmas!
Happy Holidays to you and Jerry! Enjoy your time to be together!
Can’t wait to visit again in the spring.
Wishing you & your family a Merry Christmas & hope you get to relax on your time off!

Can you show us your landscape installations?
A little bitter sweet, I would imagine.
Jenny, how do you sanitize your greenhouses? Would really like to see that process.
Powerplanter stand = Yes please!! I have 2 augers and would love a stand to properly store them.
I enjoy watching your videos. Learning more about southern plants is so helpful in my Zone 8. Blessings to your family!

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We all love your channel and the information and advice you are able to share. Good luck with all the new endeavors and most especially the mail order business. Prayers for health and happiness.
We were wondering how you sanitize the greenhouse. Does that also help with pests (fungus gnats, whiteflies, etc.)? Great season!
Hello, Jenny, Jerry, and Creekside Team❤! Thank you for a prosperous season of learning. I feel better prepared and eager to learn more! I thank God for you all!
