I love the sounds of crunching leaves and snow!
for safety sake, please text a neighbor when you are trekking up the hill and when you are back safely. so that if they don’t hear you got back safely, they can send help if needed.
Enjoy the sun Kaye that is what I do. Love from North Carolina.
Wow that was quite a hike and you didn't even have to leave home. Walking is one of the best exercises for everyone if done regularly. Falling is a concern for older folks and it is important to take precautions which I am sure you do. Hope you have a blessed weekend..
Be careful Kaye with walking on uneven ground!! That knee cap still has healing to go !! I LOVE a walk in the woods. It’s my favorite thing to do. 🍁🍂🎄💕
What a great walk. I walk my 7 acres but I don’t have the hill you have. But
Love to walk it no matter the weather.
Love your property! Would be nice to have a couple paths cleared through there for easier walking. You need a strong person with a scythe
My dad lived o be 91 ,never exercised ,layed around and watch Jerry Springer every day, was in great health most of his life .Exercise boils the blood, don't really need it to be healthy .
Hi Kaye. The cat that is on my arm on this photo is the son of two feral cats and he became a cat that didn't want to leave the house anymore while his brother Dany went in and out freely. Willie just stood at the window sill and watched him go in and out. He must have had such a hard time outside that he didn't want to go out again 🐈💛
Kaye B,J,,, she's some big girl ,,,,, sussing out the trail in the front protecting her Momma,,, good girl,,,, reminds me of my old Pudwood he was a protector killed rattlesnakes in Arizona
miss him,,,,Ed
What a lovely walk. It is nice seeing how the weather is there because 4 years ago I lived in N.Ga mountains and had the same climate. Thanks for the memories and taking me along.
A beautiful walk Kaye. Not the first to mention…that is uneven ground and you were so brave walking with a go pro instead of two walking sticks checking the ground. I would walk up and down your drive or front property to get the heart going. IDK about snakes back there, 2 weeks ago it was still early morn and dark i went to clean a low gutter out, then i wanted to go back there and i heard a hissing (rattling) sound i never heard before. I have a shed very close by. I was freaked out it may have been a snake, so please be careful walking and maybe disturbing a low lying area where snakes may be nesting for the winter. Still it was lovely seeing you out there enjoying nature.
It'd be nice if someone with a big brush cutting implement or brush hog came in a created some trails for you that would even be walkable in the summer without worry of snakes.
I would if harvested some of those mushrooms and found out what they are. Did you know?? It was fast were they turkey tails??
I’m a big worried about my cats too. We also have coyotes
I needed a nap after your trek through the woods today… funny how that works. Thank you for the property tour! ♥
You're making me want to hike my woods, too! I didn't hear you say how big your wood is, but mine is just a little 6 acre wood. It's bordered by a creek, then goes uphill to a plateau, then more steeply down to a second creek, and then very steeply up to the neighbor's fence line. I love to tramp around in it, but if the weeds are allowed to grow, they get up above my knees, and like you, I don't fancy meeting a snake or bringing home ticks! Sometimes my husband uses the weed whacker and makes me trails. He got really creative in 2020, making all kinds of intersecting trails. I really enjoyed that. I always find new things out there. In fact it was in 2020 that I identified dozens of wildflowers and herbs in the wood, and in my yard. That started me in the path to herbalism. It is so quiet in there, and cooler in the summer. My kitty always follows me, too.
I can see why you love Tennessee! Merry Christmas Kaye!🌟💝
Awe that is so pretty. Love it❤
Love the woods. What a beautiful place your have. Do you have a basement? Love the kitties also.
I watch Barbara too, great info
Nice “watch walking” with you! If you are concerned about knee protection you might consider volleyball knee pads. They are quite comfortable to garden in. Thanks Kaye 😊
Best time of year for a walk in the woods …no slithering critters or bugs, but it looks like the poison ivy could still be hanging in there a bit. Every time I walk, it's downhill for about 15 minutes and then back uphill for 15 minutes. I do that about three times a week in the winter unless we really get buried in snow here in NH, then my exercise is clearing snow. We haven't had snow yet and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are to be in the upper 40s, maybe even 50 on Christmas. That's quite nice for NH in late December. The deep snow is coming though, probably January. But then it's just two months 'till maple syrup! Do you take your phone with you on walks in the woods? …just in case you'd twist an ankle or something. (me, the worry wart). BJ is a sweet kitty but I doubt she'd be a 'Lassie dog" and run and get help for you. lol
We got to take care of our health…..God Bless you Kaye.
I did the same thing today, walked up the hill.
I think your local fire department may do a controlled burn to get rid of all of the underbrush of your property
You have a beautiful place. Looks so peaceful
Do you bring a gun with you?Aren't you afraid of bears ?or crazy people?I like you Kaye, don't want to see anything happen to you.❤
