When putting up a fence to keep out unwanted animals, it's a good idea to put a foot or so of chicken wire or the like on flat on the ground surrounding the garden so it puts off burrowing animals from trying to gain entry, as they like to dig at the fenceline and don't think (usually) to dig further away from the fenceline.

😭My garden soil always is infested with teeny tiny white things with antennas and they eat the plants from underground causing plants to rot from the roots. Any ideas what it could be? And any ideas of how you would go about dealing with them? They are the size of fleas and shaped oval long. They are only in the soil, too, if that helps.
