On the West side of Los Angeles, near Venice Beach there was a friend's apartment complex which had several "Sandbox Trees" in front. These trees had the 1/2, in stringer at the base of the tree but stopped at about the 10 ft mark. The upper portion was smooth bark. Strange.😵💫
On a vacation in costa rica I tasted the fruit from the manchineel tree not knowing it was dangerous. It was sweet but soon afterward my mouth started to burn. I had tums with me I think this is what helped.
