Today I thought I’d talk about how to find the best location on your property for a winter garden. Not everyone’s property is ideally suited for a winter garden — ours certainly isn’t – but by optimizing 4 factors, you can improve your chances of success.
These factors are: Sun, Slope, Wind, and Proximity.
This video is presented from the perspective of the northern hemisphere. If you live in the southern hemisphere, the same principles apply, but will have to be adapted to the southern hemisphere.

OYR is all about growing a lot of food on a little land using sustainable organic methods, while keeping costs and labor at a minimum. Emphasis is placed on improving soil quality with compost, mulch, and compost tea. No store-bought fertilizers, soil amendments, pesticides, compost activators, etc. are used.
