Trip to KYOTO, JAPAN vlog | Staying in a traditional townhouse | Things to do & see



On this Kyoto, Japan trip we are staying in a traditional townhouse. This is our first time staying in a Kyoto machiya. It’s an authentic Kyoto experience and a great alternative to a hotel. In this vlog we also visit one of Kyoto’s most popular tourist attractions and learn more about local Japanese culture, life and traditions. Kyoto is one of the most beautiful places in Japan and is a must visit destination for a first timer.

A machiya is a traditional wooden home that is associated with Kyoto’s architecture. This home has been renovated to incorporate modern amenities while keeping the traditional aesthetic of a machiya. Staying in this traditional Japanese home made our trip really special and allowed us to have an authentic Kyoto experience. Kyoto has some of Japan’s most popular tourist attractions. I hope this Japan vlog acts as a guide and gives you some ideas on things to do and see in Kyoto. Even though I live in Tokyo, I’ve had the opportunity to travel to both Northern and Southern Japan and I hope to give some useful tips, and recommend must see and must visit places on your next trip to Japan!     京都でホテルでなく、素敵な町屋に宿を選択したのは大正解でしたね！日本人でも羨ましいです。夕方の伏見稲荷も正解ですね。

    日本語ですいません。
    多くの神社の境内（敷地）は霊的に清浄な地域が選ばれています。伏見稲荷大社は中でも格別なものの一つです。
    夜の神社は、神々の浄闇（清らかな闇夜）の空間ですので、貴女が少し怖さを感じられたのは、猿や猪といった小動物の気配だけではなかったかもしれません。しかし貴女の様に神々に対する遠慮と尊敬の気持ちを持っていれば神々は貴女が神社の浄闇（清らかな闇夜）の空間を訪ねる事も、きっとお許しになられたでしょう。
    京都の旅が貴女の素晴らしい思い出となるよう祈っています。
