I don’t think that pulling on it is the best answer. Visually I see areas where the union is separated on some of these, but I’m not sure if it’s enough to justify re-cutting.

The unwrapped ones were grafted 12.1.23, and are a mix of myrtillo clones on PC and spach.

Ideas or advice welcome!

After about 4-5 days I give it a light poke to see if it pushes right off or feels stuck. A lot of people say it’s too early and wait at least a full week or two. But I haven’t had any issues and I’ve checked some at 3 days post cut. Saved a few that didn’t stick with a quick rechop.

You’re not going to kill them if a graft doesn’t take..you can always regraft..if you’re unsure just wait a few more weeks..

These look good to me. After a while they grow out at the junction. If there’s no gaps they should reorganize their vascular tissue. I do give them a gentle wiggle. In my setup, I use two bands initially. After two days I’ll remove a band. If it’s not fairly solid after another two days it’s normally because I messed something up. I end up wiggling the scion a little anyway removing the bands so you normally know immediately. Most of the ones that are loose at 4 days don’t make it.
