I am having a huge rethink on what should do with my fruit and cut flower section of my allotment plot.
Do I move the raspberries , strawberries and gladdioli? Let me know your thoughts…..
I have already moved the grapevine into the polytunnel and now I have both double archways with thornless blackberries on both sides.
We have a little update on the onions and garlic and a quick look at the pond.
In the polytunnel I fleece over the avocado plant to give some extra winter protection
I will be going LIVE on YouTube for the first time on Sunday for a Q&A chat.

  1. The garlic is looking fab Will, great growth on it already. I've only got mine in now 😊 with the fruit area if you prioritise what you actually enjoy eating more -raspberries, strawberries or the blackcurrants … 😊im sure you'll make it suit your needs in no time 😊 Have a great week! M.🌿💚

  2. Have you thought about using your strawberries as a groundcover in your polytunnel? Also, if you replace your Vicotia Plum, what will you plant? Plot looks great!

  3. Hi Will, I'm starting to learn to be ruthless with what I grow so with your fruit area I would say look at what has been productive and what is the cost of the fruit and flowers to buy them in the shops.
    Good luck for Sunday live.
Question for it how is the application for the neighboring plot going?

  4. split up the Gladiolas into random smaller clusters maybe a round rock border around that bed and turn it into a wild bed maybe add some garlic , and as for your plum tree just tell it your going to cut it down if it don't put out 🙂 🧄🍒🫐 you all have a good garden day and stay warm !

  5. Hi Will, the plot is looking great, if your Autumn fruiting raspberries are big they could be a variety called Joan J, I used to grow them.. good luck for the live on Sunday, ill be watching. Steve

  6. Omg for a minute there I thought you were in Canada 🇨🇦 😂 cold and wet. Yes my magnolia tree split like that in our horrendous drought of 2022 so this year I tried to maintain a good water regime. So lovely of Gem 💎 to send you more beans 🫘. Gladioli are lovely but I agree moving them would be good but where 🤔 is there a blank wall to grow them against?

Look forward to the live, have a super week/end, Ali 🌧️🥶🇨🇦

  7. Hi Will, fingers crossed you don't have any hungry mice after your broad beans 😅 loved hearing what you may or may not do too, it's ideas time of year isn't it! 😊

  8. Ooo it really is planning time, isn’t it? I got a bit lost working what would go where in the fruit bed. It’s like a game of Tetris.

I’d definitely thin out the gladioli though, not sure where else you can put them, but it’d give you more space for the fruit bushes

Garlic is looking fab. Good luck with the next batch of broad beans.

  9. Everything is looking great on your plot. I hope your plum tree will give you fruits next year. I have a wonderful plum tree in my garden, he gives so many fruits every year. He is in a shady spot and he loves water when it is hot. We water him a lot when it is hot. The one we have on the new plot extension is also in the shade of the oak tree and he gives a lot of fruits too. Is yours in the shade some part of the day? I wonder if that is why he is not giving much plums. I might be wrong of course. Hope your new broad beans do well in the beds! 😘💕🌸

  10. Morning Will,
Apologies, I'm so far behind, and trying to catch up with all my favourite fellow Youtubers/ gardeners this morning! 😉
I'm really looking forward to the 'live' tonight….so good luck! 🍀😊
    Take care, Annie 🐞 🐝 🌱

  11. Hi Will. Lush update. Plot looks very tidy.
Exciting times ☺️ I make notes of some of my plans and just have a good think which is best. We didn't plan too good last year but are happy now that we've made the right choices.
    Have a fab week 👏🏽
