  1. Ive put in a new garden for spring too. Im doing no dig as well. Ive got an area about 15 ft long by 12 ft wide. Ive got it all cardboarded and my fall leaves piled on top!

  2. It's a brilliant no fuss method, my first beds are no dig. The only issue is the price of compost for the setup. After the setup you just top it up with a mulch layer of compost each year (around this time of year), so it's alot cheaper in the long run.

  3. Great new video topic, Ivan. I love no dog gardening and have been gardening this way for years. My husband took a bit of persuading , when we married and i moved in with him, but now with an easy to maintain garden and great growing results, he is now so pleased we switched. Good luck with your new project and i look forward to following its' progress. Happy gardening 😃

  4. Good luck with your new project. As an older person, make sure you can get a cart or lawnmower between the beds. It will give you walking and work space and help with tidiness. I've learned this with my container beds.

  5. I like no dig. Well, I've never seen a cabbage or a carrot using a spade to plant its own seeds. Following nature and much easier on the back. Big fan of Charles' videos (as well as yours). Cheers.

  6. I think you'll like this, I start 4 no dig beds this year and have had successes and losses the same as everyone else. I've 3 more beds to go in, but been pained with older age issues. Looking forward to watching you progress..

  7. Ivan, I used the no-dig method when growing Red Pontiac potatoes for the first time. I noticed a sunny patch in the yard that I didn’t want to commit to garden space, yet I needed to get my chitted potatoes planted somewhere.

Using 24x17x8” sturdy cardboard boxes with all flaps folded in and the boxes clothes-pinned together, I created a good enough potato patch to successfully grow my potatoes. The advantage of the boxes was that I was able to put a tarp over my ‘patch’ during a torrential rainfall which kept the seedlings from being flooded. Later in the season, I put bamboo poles up against the box sides so that I could put shade cloth over the nearly-mature plants when a heat dome presented itself. I’ll use this method again to make sunny nooks in other spots good short-term growing spaces.

  8. Hi Ivan there is another person who does no dig ( no dig Norfolk gardener ) he started when cv19 was around and he seems very happy with the progress and he has done really well with it. I’ve just taken on a new allotment and I have dug it over to see what the problem’s are with the soil and what it needs to be producing great soil. ( good luck with your new project)

  9. i have started putting in high raised beds in so i can sit or stand up right and work in the garden it's E Z on the back i have found a lot of bugs are at grown level so win win , it's just a thought … i really enjoy your videos so 👍👍 and thanks

  10. Dowding is the Don. I’m so glad your sharing this with everyone Ivan. I’m at the same point as you with starting a new garden so will be interested in how it goes for you. Love your content buddy. Cheers

  11. Have you considered putting cardboard right across the grass in between the beds then covering with bark save lawn moving and grass getting into beds.

  12. Hi Ivan, just a quick on please but what editing software do you use, im 31 and have never encountered something so difficult to do LOL

Love the vids and cant wait to start vloging allotmenting etc etc

    Cheers 😅

  13. I have no dig beds which work well but what helped me personally with back & other health issues was to double up on the height of the beds. I know it's double the cost but is worth it in the long run. To save money I loaded the base of the beds with twigs & branches (hugelkultur style).
