Having spent some time growing it is time to pot my Habanero and Super Hungarian hot peppers. You can tell when they are ready to be potted when either they have their first true leafs or when the roots start coming out of the site. With the peat pods you can remove the outer plastic membrane if you are worried about the roots being chocked. I don’t have a problem with them restricting the root development. When you use boiling water to swell the pods I find the mesh netting does just enough to told the peat together but not restrict root development.
